I'm sorry, did anyone say modern? No, they said military. I'm not sure if this website links to an alternate parallel universe, but in mine, Footman/Archer/Gunman/Samurai/Plane/Ghoul/Tank/Android is really kind of hard to group all into "modern" without a time machine.fantasy units for a fantasy game pwns mods of modern military based on fantasy games.
How about "standard soldier"? Cannon fodder can range from any time period, but still be specific.Military: Almost too broad... nearly any unit could be argued as military.
Im sure you would want somthing your good at too....Yeah... and WILL wants that to be the theme because that's the main thing he's good at -_-

I still think FX pack is a good idea.

They're useful and generally fit with Wc3, since they use ingame textures.
They're small in file size and demand no skinning or animating skills.
They're easy to learn.
In my opinion, SFX should be a separate contest. Like donut said, it's a very unique category, that utilizes different ideas. The like 10 people who wanted a military competition got owned and overrulled.
Totaly lame, a vote should have been made, and then perhaps some good would have come out of it. As it stands now, military pack supporters have been mostly disbanded due to the Vetoing of of the pack by a few people.
MySpaceBar brings up a good idea, we could make it specificaly on a type of unit (Grunt/cannonfodder, Tanks/cavalry, Siege/artillery, Airplanes/space fighters)
All i want is a vote, to see if there really is a large need for this noob-friendly SFX pack.
As in missles, nukes, and big explosions? What about a "Military SFX" contest?
