Actually every single game for the ps3 (including my NBA 07) uses blue-ray. Read the label on the discs.
Physically yes. But in reality? Most of the games are probably only using the same as a normal dual layer DVD or atmost slightly more. FF13 was a good example of this where the actual game was only 5 GB (someone checked the bluray) and the rest of the game disc was the umpteen hours of CGI cutscenes in 1080p. The fact is developers have not been able to use the space efficiently, often forcing them to be very wasteful adding unnescescary pre rendered cutscenes or audio just so they can appear to half utalize a blu-ray.
- Leave a disc in the console while you move it (even if you unplug then move it) can cause disc damage.
- Knocking over the 360 while a game is running will most likely cause disc damage.
Same with most disc drives. The 360 is not the only console to come with a do not move while running or disc inserted warning. Also keeping it horrizontal will reduce the likleyhood of this.
- Red Ring burning motherboards and starting house fires
The 360 is not meant to be used in an oven. You let the console get too hot and ofcourse you will get a fire, same with your computer and PS3. Just search for images of burned out 8800 GT graphic cards and you will see what overheating can do.
Fortunatly that is now a thing of the past due to the new slim 360 which uses less power and has much better ventilation.
If you do not ventilate your console properly, ofcourse it will overheat.
Also no normal person would leave the console in red ring state for umpteen hours (you instead turn it off).
- Easily hackable (especially seen on CoD, GoW, etc)
I take it you have not heard of the PS3 then? You know, the console where anyone can authenticate a playable blu-ray for it through the cracked development codes? The console where millions of account details (including credit card numbers) have been stolen from its internet play feature? The console people have managed to load up entirly different opperating systems on and even play WC3 on (not a PS3 game)? The Wii and 360 do have ingame hacking problems, but the PS3 has much much worse.
My friends brother pre-ordered Halo Wars.
I went to his house to play it with him the day he got it.
His sister knocked over the 360 and the game was eaten.
Futureshop nor Microsoft offered to replace his game.
If you punch a whole through your TV while playing the Wii, do not expect a replacement TV as you broke your TV and not the Wii or the game or the TV. Same goes with your disc, you broke it and not the 360 nor the distributor. The 360 clearly warns not to move the console with games in it and you disobeyed the warnings. Anyway, this is why I lie my console down in its horozontal mode to play and play from hard disk, as even if it falls over (I have it on stands for better cooling), the discs do not get damaged.
