my skin is unacceptable and i cant freehand anything, and I'm not good AT All with modeling, my mapping stinks... i cant make good icons..... i suck you know.. i can barely spell too :cry:
 
nothing to worry about everyone sucks when they just started. Stick to one thing at a time and you will get better at it (soon? or after a very long time?)
 
Just relax. No one is good at anything at the beginning. Take some tutorials, but don't rush it. The brain needs some time to process all the information. After reading some tutorials you should try making something yourself, but don't be depressed if it isn't good, just practice and practice and eventually you will become a great skinner/mapper/GUIer/JASSer etc.
 
I'm amazed this guy hasn't received a huge dose of flaming. Perhaps I underestimate this forum.

Wondering about this topic, I wouldn't say that if I was you. We are all good at something, we just need to develop and finally use it to show what we are good at. It took me 2 years to get good with .NET Programming in VB.Net.

Ever since I was young, I had learning difficulties and I was often weakened with knowledge at my starter years (Kindergarten, Prep etc...), so they took me to some special classes for tests. I'm sure by grade 3, I started to get better at my things and now I am in accelerated class doing Year 9 Maths in a Year 8 classroom, and I have to keep up with the standards. For some reason, some question that I'm a year older than them, but that is because of this. I try to make some other excuse, and I don't attempt to say out the truth. The point is, we are all good at something. If you despise this, there is no point saying out that you are good at something; you must believe and develop that skill.

I can try to teach you how to program, take some classes in drawing (probably Manga), take training and give out passion to that topic. Give years and soon develop skill and show to the public what you can do; the description should be reversed and you should do something about it. Also, have you considered programming, or JASS as such. Probably the knowledge side of things might suit your talents. Also, what Hawkwing said, ask for help when you need it. I'm sure others will be eager to help you, and you can probably learn from that. I have given you rep to start you off, should you reply and reconsider, or fail. Practice too, took me 2 years to develop some good programming skills in VB.Net.

Because I feel this thread warrants a serious response:

"I'm not good at anything." calls forth three problems.

1. You're not really unskilled in every aspect of your life. Boo hoo, you can't do anything related to Warcraft III modding. So is most of the world, including me. That shouldn't stop you from actually being talented at something.

2. The most magnificent creation I know, me, took nine months to build. Talent isn't some transcendental concept where, if you are the chosen one, the monitor magically produces brilliant flashy shit as a result of your prowess. Take a class or something. If you honestly took Warcraft III modding as a serious aspect of your life (which I would not recommend), you'd have a good shot at becoming a prominent member with ease. If not, then Warcraft III might just not be the thing for you. Snow will fall, the sun will rise, and people will move on. Namely, you.

3. I've been on the Hive for, what, two years now? And I've accomplished just about shit besides picking fights with anyone who dares to share a different opinion than mine. I'm only on this site because it's fun to socialize here and it's nice to be able to converse with a couple fellows I've become familiar with who are halfway around the world. The Hive, contrary to popular belief, is not serious business. Not any more than my anime, anyways. It doesn't have to be a big deal if you're not talented in this site's eyes. There are plenty of alternatives, like doing something that people care about.

That's what I had in mind, I practiced some of the programming skills until now, and now I can create some independent programs which I don't require asking help for. Took me 2 years, and I can use it as a computer programmer for the future (I could be some cartoonist or a drawer); anyways, my teacher always said "Practice makes perfect". It made sense, however I did seem aggressive to that moral. It does take time, so consider what you said, and make your goals.
 
Oh well, I suck at a lot of things, and I'm here, alive.

Everyone starts as random and (useless) noobs, but, with time, you can either choose the good side (with the appex being a mod) or the bad side (ending being banned).

Please choose the first, as everybody's tired of those random flammers :P

So want do you want us to tell you? cheer you up and say no you don't try harder?
Man if you suck at something, then you do duck and nothing can change it unless you train hard and waste your time on it.
if you suck at skinning/ icon making etc.. that mean you don't have drawing talent (like most of us including me).
Mapping is the hardest in the category, if you do not have trigger experience, original ideas and a good terrainer etc... then stay away from that field.
For modeling http://www.iinit.com/tutorial.cfm?category=2&source=2&tutorial=5 seek help from Mr. fish, if you fail at that also, leave modeling alone.
Spell, Learn Jass and train to make simple flawless/leakless triggers, enough said.

if you cannot make maps/models/icons/spells/skins ... then try Chatting
that is another skill that you may try, its not related to art, architect or w/e its simple internet social skills.

If you failed at that also then try other skills in life (those are not everything you know) and discover yourself.

if i could slap you, or punch you in your gut right now, I would for your pessimism. no one is good at everything, but i'm sure you're good at something, and really good at it, also, try harder, i used to not understand how to model before, i couldn't understand the difference between Face and Mesh, so try harder, don't stop trying.
