Isn't Wikipedia strictly controlled?

Well its moderated, but there's millions of articles, and anyone, ANYONE, can alter them without even signing up with the site (it just shows your IP address instead of a username). You see even in a site like this moderation sometimes falls through, can you imagine how many times it does so on something like Wiki?

Don't forget RebornDevil...I also cited dictionary.com. >_> Which said the same exact thing.

I'll be blunt: It seems to me that you're reviling against a truth about yourself that you don't want to hear, because of the implications that are, or the implications you perceive.

No I'm not. I'm explaining what faith and belief actually means. Those words comes from religion, it's just that over time it's used for so much it got several meanings which is why dictionaries also got that slightly wrong definition too. It's just like another word you used. I'm quite certain it was "singularity", and it has lost it's original meaning because it's used in so many different ways. People tend to forget where the words come from what they really mean, and then it gets so common to use them "incorrectly" that the dictionaries have to add them. This applies to the words "faith" and "belief" too.

And about wikipedia, yes, the most important articles are moderated, but stuff like definitions on some words aren't. I can even edit that entry about "faith".

So I'm taking the definitions, and verses of the dictionaries, and wikipedia out of context? :D

You can say they are unreliable because they disagree with your world view? :D

You sound the same exact way you perceive Creationists to be, and say they sound you know? ^^

TWIF, and any dictionary can say I'm right. The words "faith" and "belief" have gotten several meanings over the years, but their true meaning is related to religion. Elenai, I'm saying you're doing the same mistake pretty much everyone else does too. It's so common it's been added to the dictionaries, just like some of the new definitions for "singularity".

Don't forget the word "gay". Nowadays everyone thinks the Flintstones' themesong is about homosexuals.

Oh yeah? I had no idea that gay used to have a different definition.
It's not like that knowledge is a basic component of every smartass' arsenal or anything.

This is getting really off-topic now, but at least it's more friendly and more funny.

The internet is either atheist or fanatically religious*.

Those two options are the same thing really...as both are thoroughly entrenched in their beliefs. Not all religions are theistic, after all.

The internet is therefore, either religious, pornographic, or news...and piracy. xD

But we can all agree, it isn't real life! :D

Atheists don't have beliefs, that's why they are atheists, lack of or completely devoid of belief and faith. The internet is a part of the real life, so it's not a virtual life. We're not playing a made up character, we are ourselves. We communicate with others, get friends, share interests, discuss stuff etc. Some people make websites as a part of their job.

Edit: Now you're thinking "Omg, he must argue about that too?", not arguing, just stating something, not trying to provoke another discussion.

I guess you don't even know what real life is, actually, fanatic religious people tend to bring their beliefs to other people, trying to persuade them, atheism is just what it is: A bunch of people who don't believe in religion, which are annoyed by small catholic boys who like their priests a little bit too much, so they can't think clear..... thats all.

Wroooooooong. That is the greatest appeal of the internets: you can be whoever you want. In fact, Elenai (do mind this is an example), could perfectly be a punk that doesn't give a shit about god or religion and posts here just because he likes his trollin'.
Same goes for [Insert Random Supposedly Radical Atheist User Here], as he/she could be the Pope himself. A Pope that likes some lulz, that is.

Yes, that was funny :).... whatever.

Lol, lesson learned to never post anything to do with classic metal if I want to avoid flaming.

Well the internet also creates a curtain effect in some people - they may never be able to say what they truly believe and be forced to play a "character" in real life due to where they live - the internet can also do quiet the opposite and allow people to reveal who they really are.
