DirectX 11 - Where do I get it?

So my new computer's video card supports DirectX 11 but my new installation of Windows 7 came with no DirectX at all.
I have tried many downloads of DirectX 11 on the internet (including Microsoft's download center) but they all installed DirectX 9 and 10!

So, how do I get it? >.>

If it doesn't work try to see if there is an update available for it in Update Manager.

Is your Windows legal or illegal? That can have a huge effect.
Also which version of Windows 7?

Furthermore what's your graphic card?

Windows 7 will always come with direct X 11 (a basic version). It however will not come with the lattest (or full as that is itended for developers only) version as that needs both driver and directX updates which were released after Windows 7 was.

Original, Ultimate x86 OEM. ATI Radeon HD 5450 with full DX11 support.

But if it comes with any basic DX11, shouldn't it say "DirectX Version: DirectX 11" instead of "DirectX Version: DirectX 10"?

You're right, yours definitely supports DX 11.
I'll try google if I'll find anything.

I have tried Google, Bing and Yahoo. Nothing very relevant. Every page is like there aren't any problems.

Go to run, type "dxdiag" without the quotes and then see the Direct X version listed there.

It must (I almost garuntee you) say Direct X 11. Even my DirectX 10 graphic card still uses DirectX 11.

God knows where you are reading the directX version... All Windows7 use DirectX 11 even if your graphic card does not support DirectX 10.

I have had no idea about this tool. Yes, it says "DirectX 11" there, but why does it say 10 on the "Performance Information and Tools" window? That's misleading!

Same here, in the control panel (Windows experience index > "show and print detailed performance and system information" or something like that) it says DirectX 10, while dxdiag says Directx 11. My card is an Ati Radeon HD5870 mobility with full DirectX 11 support.

@DSG: How can windows use dx11 if it's not supported? I'm pretty sure (but I may be wrong) that directx 10&11 needs hardware support. Can you use it in games?

ATI 4000 series cannot use directx 11 features. Try installing Metro 2033 for example you will see that with a 4000 series graphic card you cannot select any of the special DX11 graphical options.

5000 however does fully support DX11. 6000 does 3D.

Not all DirectX 11 features need fully complient DirectX 11 hardware. Only the tessilisation shader effects and DirectX 10.1 features need fully supporting hardware.

It comes with Windows 7. You should have in installed. I'm not aware of any other way of getting it.
