So, in object editor you can edit the existing ones or create new one... I've seen people who create new ones, edit the current ones, or do both. I myself create new ones for better organization and blabla.

Okay, you can organize your objects a lot easier by creating new ones, but are there any other differences? File size? Loading time? Something else? Or are the both methods identically same by their mechanics?

Everything that is already in map, does not take more space, load time or something else...These are already in the .mpq too.Everything new you create i think it takes a very little space...maybe 100 custom units take up about 10kb...Not very sure though about the custom created.

made some tests (all numbers in Bytes)

without everything
15556
with peasant
15731
with normal peasant 100% modified
16937
with footy
15722
with bloodmage
15594

since the modified peasant had a lot of more data != 0/null/0.00/none I think that both are equal but make your own just to be sure

edit: my bad...first I had xx.xxx but I wasn't sure if its . or , so I made it xxxxx and forgot about the kbyte thing :p

Hmm..if the map is good, most people will download it from sites,so the size won't be a problem. For example, let's take DotA.It's size is about 5.5 mb(too much time for download)but the 90% of the Bnet has the map.

*Also...if you don't have imports, even if you try too hard you won't be able to increase the size of the map more than 1.5 mb.
