My new Diablo III map is a fast RPG map with many references
to the first Diablo III Gameplay Trailer and the Blizzcon 2008 Diablo III Demo:






The map is the Prequel of my Diablo III Borderlands map. It is the first part of my Diablo III Campaign. Borderlands is the second part.

Story
Two decades have passed since the demonic lords, Diablo, Mephisto, and Baal, set out across the world of Sanctuary on a vicious rampage, twisting humanity to their unholy will. Yet for those who battled the Prime Evils, the memory fades slowly.

When Deckard Cain returns to the ruins of Tristram Cathedral seeking clues to defeat new stirrings of evil, a fiery harbinger of doom falls from the heavens, striking the very ground where Diablo once entered the world. This fire from the sky reawakens ancient evils and calls the heroes of Sanctuary to defend the mortal world against the rising powers of the Burning Hells once again.

why does the unburied thing do stun every time he hits u....
i cant get near him because he keeps stunning me pls fix that
 
Review:

Gameplay:

You've recreated the diablo level really well, the sequences, the quests, the events, ...
There's also a lot of movement, creatures jumping at you, with their own specialties.
All of the diablo 3 characters are also available, with their most fun spells and with really neat looking and fitting spell icons.
Also a custom UI texture!
The map lasts really long, there's a lot of content and a lot of different creatures, so it doesn't get boring too soon.
Combat is also very satisfying, with all the blood effect.
This one is really, really long and there's quite a lot of content, completely different area types, first you're outside, then inside a castle, etc.

Terrain:

An amazing terrain work, very detailed, a lot of custom textures and models used to make the map really feel and look diablo-like. The cliffs are smooth, the river is really neat and even though it's such a huge map, every inch of the terrain is detailed and polished.

Other:

Neat loading screen image and preview image, as well as a nice THW description.

Overall:

Another amazing diablo 3 recreated level made by Booody, a lot of content, for multiple people packed with intense combat and a gorgeous environment.

Right after I killed the skeleton king around where I got the quest I've completed something didn't get to read the whole thing, I got a fatal error. Might want to check it out. Played as a monk if it matters, I'll attack a replay.

It is an excellent map! The terrain is awesome but when i walk parts of the stage disappear, besides some minor bugs with the lighting and the area of collision of some objects and walls, which I can go through. For example, in the beginning when you're trapped and have to resist a wave of ghosts to open the doors. In the column below right can be go through without killing the ghosts.
The textures are fine but some need more work, otherwise the map is great.
Another thing I liked the interior of the cathedral before, with the part where your character lowered through a door, the crater is well with the magical effect but i like more the old way to get in, which was through a door, I think it makes more sense.
Awesome job! and sorry for my bad english :)

In Borderlands, when you leap with Barbarian, on spider eggs, you get transported in the middle on the map, thus getting stuck. Just putting it out there, everything else is great :3

I said this long time ago but im gonna say it again.

In my opinion, there are 2 things left to make this map perfect;

1-Instead of usual wc3 chests, map needs generic item models. Like a generic armor model for all armors, a generic sword model for all swords, a generic ring model for all rings etc.

2-This one is VERY important in my opinion: There are lots of useless item drops. Since we cant sell items (which is good in this kind of map) we have no use of items which are specific to a class no one picked. Lets say, if im playing monk as single player, the game should automatically "delete" all demon hunter, barbarian, wizard and witch doctor specific items from the ground. Everything will be much more clearer than.

EDIT: I checked that if items can be sold, and yes they can be sold for no money. This may lead accidents, please make items unsellable

EDIT2: Also trading shrines are dissapointing :/ Not enough items in trading shrines and too much items for barbarian, not even a single item for Demon hunter in first 2 shrines! My suggestion is, remove elixirs and make 2 class specific items per class (10 items total) PLUS 2 generic items (rings/other) for every shrine.

EDIT3: A new suggestion; since your spells ALL scale by a fixed amount with levels, you may want to summarize spell descriptions a bit like;

Fists of Thunder:
bla bla bla

Damage: 55%/70%/85% of your Agility

Level Up: +15% of your Agility

or

Damage: 55%/70%/85% +(15% per level) of your Agility

Also, is there any chance that you may change hotkey of the last spell of every hero to "F" instead of "T" ? Cause T is a bit far away. Q W E R D F will be better in my opinion.

Will You be implementing carry over saves by the end of this project? I just thought it would be really nice to be able to start act one have some fun beating it then be able to use that very same charactor on a harder act (act 2), adds something else for the player to work for.

nvm just played borderland and found out what you did. greta maps man please ohh please keep em coming!

A new version is online.

There is a new function:
You can switch the camera between locked and unlocked camera, if you enter "-cam".
But in my opinion its a better Diablo atmosphere, if you use the locked cam over your hero.

Thank you. But I cannot include a save/load system in my maps. It is not possible because the maps have different unit/item/ability datas and I don't know to do it.

there's a bug in the last boss cenario.
with his skill (the one that he starts running) he can go up the cliff, making it impossible to reach him.
can u fix it? =D
