I'm having technical issues right now and cannot upload V2.4 of my map.

If anyone has been in contact with the CoolWWWSearch virus, or know how to fix it, please tell me. It does not allow me to use google correctly, or upload anything including my maps. I've tried Spybot, AdAware, CWShredder, and SUPER antivirus professional. None of them have found CoolWWWSearch, or if they have, have reported that it has been deleted. I contracted the virus from streaming a video of Supernatural Season 1, Episode 3. For anyone reading this, please help me!

I've posted this in three different locations. I hope someone out there can help me :(.

Reinstall Windows and format your hard disc.

Try buying Norton.

Stop downloading porn from suspicious websites.

Stop installing software so you can play porn movies on suspicious websites.

Usually I'd say "Google it" but since you can't I've done it for you. Nothing fancy, just the first result of searching for "CoolWWWSearch". It might help you. Or not.

LOL. I like how everyone assums I watch porn. That's probably the funniest thing out of this whole mess because.. the fact is: I did not watch porn! Lol. I was watching Supernatural Season 1 Episode 3, and all of a sudden i got the virus. The other two episodes were fine, but when I streamed episode 3, I got the virus.

I do not have norton. I had it last year, but it sucked. I have never had a problem with my computer until last friday (when i was watching my episode).

I've googled it and now i'm on PCHelpForum. The only way to get rid of this virus (that I know of) is by sending my log to someone by using HiJackThis. Now I'm just waiting for a response.

For the record: SmartKiller does not work either. (Found this out earlier today) Thanks for your help though. And don't assume everyone looks at porn...

Apperrantly you got no idea how to use professional stuff.

Oh and try out Spyware Doctor instead of that random free shit you got. (Free trail)

yo bro

try AVG free or Avast.
once u got one installed and updated, boot into safe mode by holding F8 while the computer boots up, and select safe mode from the menu.

Safe mode limits certain windows features that a virus could use to conceal itself, without them you got a better chance of finding and deleting all the various malwares yo.

and if that shit dont work format C or somethin

If Norton is top, then I hate good programs. It's the most annoying antivirus I have ever seen. And it's not that good, I've seen it fail.

Doh. Virusses grow, and anti-virus programs just try to keep up. There will always be annoying ones that slip true.

And btw, couldn't you go back in time with your pc? Using system restore.

1. Click Start.

2. Point to All Programs.

3. Point to Accessories.

4. Point to System Tools.

5. Click System Restore.

6. Follow the instructions on the wizard.

Tried that?

Lol, the funny thing is, you all (well mostly everyone) sound a bit like a know it all >.<. I've tried everything, even AVG even rebooting in safe mode and using programs (4 times now) And you're right, I don't know how to use Norton correctly. When I had it, I just let it scan my computer every once in a while, but it never found a virus. In fact, Norton slowed my computer up quite a bit... Before I had norton, I was fine. Anyways... Thank you guys for helping me and replying =). This is great that people out there can help me.

P.S. Currently, I am on PcHelpForum and professionals are helping me. I've sent them my Error Logs and now they're I guess interpretating the data now.

The Wand Mirror: At first, I thought you were just joking when you told me to buy Norton. I apologize and I must agree with Andriejj because I have seen Norton fail before also. I never knew I had a virus, and one day, I used AVG and it found a virus. O.O. And that was the morning after my weekly norton scan.

Yes, actually my Dad did the system restore (don't worry he knows what he's doing so I'm sure he did it right) and nothing happened. I think it said the message like nothing has changed on that date or something. This virus is tricky I'm telling you >=). I have never seen anything like this virus, CoolWWWSearch.

P.S.S. Is there anyone out there who has actually encountered this Virus?

o.o Does it take up a lot of space? And will the combination lag my computer at the start up? Or any lag at all? Right now I'm using AVG and it has done me well (except for this virus >.<) I'll try your combo as soon as this is all over =D. Thanks for the suggestion.

Rofl.

Norton is the top, and don't comment like that if you even haven't tried. You don't wanna know the power of that thing.

Actually Nortons fucking blows, kthnxbai. It's a resource hogging piece of shit that is only useful for Liveupdate, which Symantec Antivirus 10 also has, and is much more lightweight.

There's the professional answer: Symantec Antivirus.

As for a free answer: Either AVg or Avast will do the job far better than Nortons ever will.

Pile on your giant fortress of firewalls, antispyware and other things that will make you feel safe. You'll still find it remarkably easy to stumble upon some unsolvable spyware problem if you're a naive prick like me.

If all else fails, get your nearby buddy who can actually use a computer to save his life, and ask him to reinstall your OS or something.

Meh. I haven't had an antispyware or an antivirus program for the past three years, and my PC is still working great. All the files i give to my friends with AV software are detected as safe and uninfected.

I remember my friend fucking up his PC. First he saw a picture of a chick, and a sign that read: Find HOT girls in (Your city name, everyone knows how this works). He clicked on about 30 pix, and his mouse started acting weird. Then the same site threw out a pop-up which said: Your PC is infected, download out free antispyware (which was a box of viruses).

The point of this story is: Think before you link (to porn).

And yeah, there's an another point, my friend is a dumbass, but that's irrelevant.

:( I do have a DVD Player xD. Buuut see, I don't have Supernatural on DVD. I'm uber sad now that I cannot watch season one!! OMGGGG >=(. And I don't want to pay like 500 bucks to buy the CDs (I heard they were like 100 bucks per season).

Thank you brad =). Wait, It says you are a moderator? Uhm perhaps could you look at my game some time and approve it? =). The Reaper's Game.

LMAO JAPUT3H Funny story xD. Of course i never click on those links. I happened to have gotten infected by STREAMING (is that the same as downloading?) an episode from Supernatural Season 1 because I realllly wanted to know what happened before. I started watching it during season 3 and it's been my favorite TV show ever since.

Good point brad :(. I was so happy that this dude gave me links to watch supernatural. It was actually a big website that contained hundreds of links. So i guess i was unlucky to choose the link with the virus =\.

Anyways, thank you guys for talking in my forum. This has been a great experience for me because I never thought people out there would really care. It's been fun, but I think i have solved the problem. I reformatted (or w/e) my computer which wiped out my C Drive, along with the virus (when i go on google, it works now =D). Annnd i just want to say again for like the 12345th time, I did NOT get this virus from watching porn >=(. I got it from streaming a video of Supernatural Season 1 Episode 3 Part 2.

P.S. To any moderators reading this: Can you guys check out my game some time? The Reaper's Game (I heard you're supposed to request moderators to approve your games now? is that true?).

It's only true if you want yours to get approved faster, but that doesn't mean bug the shit out of us, because then the exact opposite happens :p

And I am not a Resource Moderator, which is who you're looking for. If you want an in-depth review, talk to Ash, if you just want it approved, talk to Master Haosis.

Nod32 is, as far as I know, pretty awesome. It's kept my computer completely safe. Apparently it's ram hungry, but I don't really notice. It does fast scans that I never even noticed with 256mb ram and updates itself well and truly. I think my brother + dad combined it with SpyBot or something like that (I forgot what Spy thing it was) and they're pretty happy.
On a side note, Im guessing that the price of supernatural is 70+ dollars (one season).

i didnt no u can get viruses from streaming videos :p. Where did you stream it from anyways? And supernatural is an awesome show :D
If all else fails, reformat ur computer. Once i got a virus so i reformatted the computer (it was actually just a trojan malware XD) and voila i'm safe.

i actually might have killed the trojan, but im paranoid so i thought traces of it might still exist. So thats why i reformatted.

LOL i know right?!? I never knew that either! I streamed it from this website a guy gave me from the CWTV lounge. There was like a million links... and whoopee... I happened to have clicked the bugged one xD.

haha i know! it's such a great show. Yeah actually my dad reformatted it. It's now perfectly fine =D.

Yeah traces of viruses can still exist, but it wont significantly do damage to your computer. And i heard some viruses wont go away even if you reformat your computer >=(. Luckily, this virus did =D.
