Better elven warriors

Hello!
These are the default models for the elven infantry which I repaired and improved a bit

Issues:
  • The original Blood elf lieutenant and Swordman had animations which were just copy pasted
  • The Swordman also had a geoset assign to the wrong node also the eye glow was too intense compared to the rest of the units
Fixes:
  • For Swordman:
    • set the correct node
    • edit the pauldron position a bit
    • deleted all the copy/paste animations
    • set new eye emissive
  • For the lieutenant
    • deleted all the copy/paste animations
    • edit the armor components to no longer collide as before
    • edit the pauldron to look more fit for a lieutenant
    • fixed the right hand clipping when in Stand Ready
    • added version without cloak
To set them as the default models in your game add to paths:
  • \Warcraft III\retail\units\human\highelfswordsman\
    • highelfswordsman.mdx (for high elf)
    • highelfswordsman_v1.mdx (for blood elf)
  • \Warcraft III\retail\units\other\bloodelflieutenant
    • only has the blood elf version but a custom path can be created for custom games only

  • Gave the lieutenant a proper blood elf sword

you know the swordsman with the cape can by an extelnt blood knight unit just need a bit reculering and a speel animation

Could you add walk animation for them ? I don't know why they don't got it when they have the same animations as basic footman.

will be an update in the future, but it will need time to be adjusted you can't just copy paste the animation just like that :D does not work this way unfortunatly. If it did all of them would have been like the footman

Sorry to keep notifying you, OP, but the swordsman doesn't need to have the model name changed to work for the Blood Elf Swordsman, right? I'm also not sure if it's supposed to go in the HighElfSwordsman folder or a different folder. Thank you so much for your help and for your hard work!!
 
Hmm in the description I also added the path.
The name of the file should be like that.
If it's not change let me know & I can check myself
I guess the only thing that was confusing me is whether the name for the swordsman model should be "bloodelfswordsman_v1" or "highelfswordsman_v1" because I want to make sure that I'm only replacing the Frozen Throne variant of the model (I want to make sure no Blood Elves cross over into the Reign of Chaos campaign, lol).

Edit: I checked in the World Editor, and I think the right name is highelfswordsman_v1, because when I changed the Swordsman unit to that variant in the object editor, it picked up the expansion version. Just thought I would mention!

That Speaks for itself blood elf is blood elf

Hmm I am also using Quenching Mod that enables me to do that but you can set it for yourself

After this is done check again the settings
  • \Warcraft III\retail\units\human\highelfswordsman\highelfswordsman.mdx (this will be the high elf from RoC campaign)
  • \Warcraft III\retail\units\human\highelfswordsman\highelfswordsman_v1.mdx (this will be the blood elf from TFT campaign)
I know these are the correct path because of RMS which uses the Warcraft game database
I see that in my description I did not specify which is the blood elf version with armor & eyes
I updated it now. Thank you for the feedback!
