"I don't take kindly to threats."

The Demon Hunter flicked her whips which snapped back into swords, and she put them away, taking out her arbalest now. The stocks of the arbalest unfolded and the Demon Hunter, despite lacking bolts for her arbalest, launched a powerful and massive blast of hellfire from it, which spread outwards in a giant arc, burning and destroying several buildings unluckily caught in the blast. The flames burned extremely ferociously and the Demon Hunter prepared to fire another blast of hellfire.

Oh, that's a crossbow. I've never heard of an arbalest.

*Rhiannon spoke from the shadows, her voice surrounding the Demonhunter as she continued to move circle the Demonhunter. "I don't much like them either, but when people who care nothing for this place appear as I'm working, I have to assume it is a direct attack on me." A metallic click sounded behind the Demonhunter.*

(Arbalest = Really big crossbow basically xD)

Four of a Kind

The Demon Hunter melded into the shadows and split into four separate clones of herself and all four moved away from their current location, then huddled together with their backs against each other. Each clone aimed ahead, and fired their arbalests in the same way, covering all directions around them.

*The bolts hit the buildings around them, and Rhiannon laughed. "Is that supposed to scare me, human? Despite your demonic training, you are weak and ignorant. Your kind seals their fate by their own hands. And so will you, sooner or later." A number of shadowy creatures dropped out of the air, landing on their feet and growling at the Demonhunter and her clones. "Kill her." The creatures lunged forth on all fours and jumped at the Demohunter clones. They dissapeared into clouds of smoke and reappeared above them, aiming for a surprise attack.*

The Demon Hunter clones evoked a wall of hellfire around themselves, completely covering them perfectly, defending them against the shadow creatures. As the flames dissipated, the Demon Hunter and her clones vanished. Suddenly, powerful bolts of demonic energies and flames erupted, wreaking havoc in the entire area, but there was still no trace of the Demon Hunter or any of the clones. The blasts of demonic energy and hellfire continued to erupt and strike the area. One of the Demon Hunters appeared in the middle of the barrage, but it was hard to tell whether it was a clone or the Demon Hunter.

*in the meanwhile, all of the artisans and their families have gone into the catacombs*

Farewell my servants *says the archon* may you find a better and safer place soon.. *and he, aided by his archonlings, slowly begun to seal the massive metal door*
(hm.. door is like one of those that close in themselves, with parts going in circle and meeting in the middle)

*The shadows covering the creatures were destroyed, revealing hard rock underneath. Their faces were beastlike and simple, had black eyes and no mouths. The creatures looked around as the fire erupted around them. They then all dashed through the rubble ,searching for the Demonhunter. The demonhunter appeared in the middle of all the chaos, and two of the creatures went to dispatch of it. Another metallic click, and a dozen more dropped from the air out of the fire's range, and began their search, the shadows covering them as did the others before the fire.*

"Torin.. I Don't think you will have big chance like this against strong foes. You are fast.. but you could be faster.. and be able to pick up objects.."
"How am I supposed to do that?"
"Well.. I have some sort of a spell.. But I think it will be permanent.."
"What kind of spell."
"I'm not sure.. I can't feel what it completely does.."
"You don't know what it does?.. How can that be?"
"Well its not like I learned from books.. Sometimes.. I just feel it.."
"Well... ..do it.."
"Are.. are you sure.."
"If you say it will help me.. then I trust you.."
"Thank you... This may hurt a little."

*On the ground a circle appeared.. it quickly formed a globe around Torin.. He did not expect this to happen. Torin tried touched the globe but he could not feel it.. but he could not go past it either.. Suddenly a pain creeped up his spine.. It burned. And now his legs everything began to burn from inside.. Torin yelped as the pain grew.. and.. as he grew..* "Nirthy..!" *Torin yelped in great pain and in misunderstanding..*

The clone of the Demon Hunter rose up into the air and spun around whilst in mid air. A flurry of knives from her cloak rained down upon the area where the creatures were, each knife exploding upon impact with shadow energies. Another clone of the Demon Hunter appeared on top of a relatively intact building, just outside the chaotic scene where the flames where erupting. The Demon Hunter clone aimed with her arbalest at the creatures hunting for her and began firing concentrated blasts of dark energy.

*The creatures jumped, rolled, and poofed as best they could to avoid the blasts. Meanwhile, Rhiannon began drawing in the shadows, still hidden within her shadow form. Another metallic click, and another, more waves appeared, and the creatures oon swarmed the area around the demonhunter. Rhiannon began to laugh. "Is that the best you could do? Your masters have taught you well, but only demons can truly wield their magics. Destroy as many of my creatures as you like, but it's no use. There's more where they came from." Rhiannon had absorbed enough of the shadows, and reappeared. Her body was covered in a thick layer of shadows, so much so, that her body wasn't even visible anymore. All the Demonhunter could see were her dark red eyes.*

*"If you had any honor, you would prove yourself in battle, instead of hiding like a coward, letting your pathetic clones do all the work." Rhiannon screamed at the buildings in front of her. Anything that was hit by those sound waves would be paralysed, their nerves temporarily disabled. The shadow creatures continued to spread out, searching for the real Demonhunter.*

The Demon Hunter was unfazed by Rhiannon's taunts, instead enjoying her position. Another clone resurfaced, on the other end opposite of the clone that reappeared second. Like the second clone, the third fired blasts of dark energy from its arbalest at the creatures.

The voice of the real Demon Hunter appeared as a whisper, though it seemed to come from the shadows rather than any definite location on the chaotic battlefield.

"Yet you fight like me, leaving your creatures to battle. Honor is not my way."

The real Demon Hunter suddenly resurfaced briefly, near the center of the chaos, but shadows wrapped around her and she had disappeared. The Demon Hunter again reappeared briefly behind several of the creatures, using her sword whips to slash at the creature, before disappearing into the shadow once again. Using the same tactics again, she attacked several creatures all over the battlefield, aiding her clones.

*"And yet, here I am, amongst my soldiers. This foolery will not be tolerated!" Rhiannon reared her head back and a large purple sphere formed. It had wisps of black smoke inside it, and Rhiannon launched it forwards. The shadow creatures dissapeared, and it hit the area where the Demonhunter clones were. The blast sent a tremendous shockwave throughout the area, rippin apart the remains of the buildings, and launching whatever rubble lie in place. Rhiannon looked around and scanned for any signs of the Demonhunter as the shadow creatures reappeared and jumped to further areas in their hunt for the Demonhunter and her clones.*

All traces of the Demon Hunter and her clones disappeared with the enormous blast. However, several pieces of rubble flew through the air and others were cut cleanly apart. The Demon Hunter and her clones resurfaced, unscathed, although rather dusty from the debris. Two clones readied themselves to go close in, while on clone remained behind to fire her arbalest in support. The Demon Hunter herself seemed to be channeling some energy, the shadow wrapping around her.

With all this action, you fail to explain how she's taking no hits. My creatures aren't zombies, so they're pretty competent. And I've kind of been neglecting them. How did she come out unscathed? I blasted the whole area to smitherings with that blast.

*The clones seperated, and Rhiannon launched another blast, closer to herself this time. The shockwave pushed her back, and she fired another to her left, then her right. If the clones were able to dodge the closer blast, they would've been launched through the air, but the second and third blasts would surely annihilate them. Meanwhile, the shadow creatures regroup and attacked the arbalest clone.*

Yeah, I was wondering the same. It may be tied, but dodging everything is getting rediculous... And endless clones, with the origional being perfectly safe? What about the shadows? Wouldn't the blasts wipe away the shadows they are hiding in, forcing them to materialize?

*Rhiannon sensed the Archon heading their way, and clicked a couple times. She then swung her tail and began smashing the nearby buildings. "You will, die, Demonhunter! And I'll make it a swift and painful one!" Rhiannon charged a blast and launched it at another street. Debris flew everywhere, and Rhiannon ducked a couple pieces as they flew overhead.*

All of this is rediculous, and is flooding the RP thread... So I'll make this blunt.

you complain about Rhiannon not being harmed, when you haven't taken shots at her while she was immobile (much of the battle), and yet, you and your clones dodge EVERY attack, and obliterate the minions with ease. I don't see how you are unable to harm the minions...

How can one expect to harm the other when they are both hiding in the shadows? You two are using the exact same tactic! The only difference, is that Rhiannon sends minions, and you send clones. But really, havin an enemy that can teleport in from any shadow and dodge every attack would not make even me willing to expose myself. Defense may be the best offense, but not when both sides are doing it.

I expected an epic battle between Rhiannon and the Demonhunter, and yet, I have not been impressed by either side.

Answer: Burn the shadows away by the Archon's pulse. Then fight ot flee -.-

(I don't recall having destroyed a single minion or really even harming it since they were dodging my attacks and they were endless numbers of them. I took several shots at her already, including the whips, the arbalest shots and causing flames to erupt in the entire area. When I attacked I got told its pointless and since I can't do anything with offense, why should I not be defensive? That's how I feel and I don't see why I should get told off for my actions when I was FORCED into doing all this. I mean, how would you feel Var, if my character suddenly came at you with near endless number of powerful and durable minions that constantly get reinforced, and then be forced to take hits from a blast that obliterates everything in your area, without being able to hit me at all and it was lose or flee?)

(If you haven't noticed, I only have 3 clones and my DH as opposed to an infinite number of these creatures which, mind you I don't recall having destroyed a single one or done any significant damage to.

Also, by "every" attack, there was like, a couple of attacks from the minions attacking from above a couple of times and the one from Rhiannon, then they were running around with like, one more attack there. How is that too many exactly? I think its just stupid and you're being way too biased. Why should I be getting torn apart by the minions, lose the new character I made and always be in an inferior position? You're arguing that I should constantly be in a position where I HAVE to lose or withdraw in whats to be horribly one sided, and you're saying that's more impressive. Yeah, that's TOTALLY something I'll stick around for )

(I don't think you deserve to complain about my actions and berate me for it Var, because you want to make it horribly one sided against me...

And now back to the action)

The clones dissipated as the Demon Hunter was struck by some of the debris from Rhiannon's tail attack. She quickly recovered and shielded herself in demonic energy to protect herself from the force of the charged blast. The last charged blast that decimated the entire area had weakened the power of the Demon Hunter as she defended against it. The Demon Hunter's power suffered, but she still had enough to continue the battle. The Demon Hunter rushed at Rhiannon quickly, whipping with her blades at her.

*Every single part of Torins body was hurting.. What was Nirthy doing.. Torins legs grew larger. his back was longer.. and he had arms, and shoulders.. Torin lied curled up in the globe as it disappeared.. The burning stopped..
"Torin?"
*Torin opened his eyes.*
"Torin.. Try to stand up.."
*Torin pushed himself up with his paws with half closed eyes. This standing felt.. weird..*
"Very good.. Now.. stand up.."
*Torin listened to Nirthys voice telling him to stand up.. but he already stood.. He thought..*
"Torin, only your legs now.."
*Before Torin knew it he stood on both of his legs.. He looked at his hands.. They looked like.. Fingers.. A little.. Torin looked at Sonya and walked in her direction.. But as he raised one of his legs he lost his balance..*
"Be careful. I figure you will learn quick.."
*Sonya wasn't so much taller any more..*

Infinite, my problem with you surviving the blast is not that you survived it, but that you didn't tell HOW (as I asked when it happened). For example, you could've used the shadows to protect yourself from harm, like I was doing before that. I've given plenty of hints at how you could beat Rhiannon, or at least fair better, but you dind't take them. And yes, you were destroying my minions. Why do you think I summoned more?

When you attacked me, I was actually preparing the part of the plot where I would battle the Archon, not that anyone would know about that. Your attack came as a surprise, and I was merely reacting to it. Aside from summoning minions, I needed to find some way of attacking, and so I thought of the energy blast. The reason it's so powerful is because I created Rhiannon mostly for this plot, where she would challenge the Void Lords' for control. Afterall, she is the main antagonist, who is draining souls to release her king from his imprisonment.

... We should discuss it in the other thread, so as not to spam or flood the RP thread (But I think those with a problem would then ignore it and continue RPing with a problem in mind)

I avoid being biased, but sacrid brings up good points. The closest your clones ever got to being harmed was beign coated in dust. No one is asking for a suicidal or even easily-beat character. We're not asking that she be maimed, guttem, or have her face cleaved off. We don't want that. But it would be nice to know she can't avoic EVERYTHING without breaking a sweat. So far, she has avoided a barrage of attacks with blinking, avoided many minions (which are easily destroyed, thus replaced as Rhiannon tries to wear down your character (breaking a sweat, growing tired, etc)), and simply teleports across the stage to the most convenient locations.

I'm not biased, seeing as I suggessted Rhiannon stop hiding in the shadows, safe from everything, just like your Demonhunter has been doing. Both of you need to step away from your beloved shadows. It's getting a bit crowded. But Rhiannon shows a weakness in that her shadows can easily be melted away. She's not invulnerable, no, but at least sacrid doesn't have her dodging every knife, every flame, and every blast, pebble, bolt, sword, or meniacle grin. This is all rediculous, and I am getting tired of BOTH of you. You two are emplying the same strategies, yet it is sacrid's minions who take hits and get destroyed. Your clones have not gotten a scratch. So yes, I am going at you because you have most of the godmodding. And trust me, I have dealt with godmodders. And I can do it again.

Clouds gathered overhead, casting the night into further darkness. Lightning cracked, sending a blue flash through the sky. The air thickened and grew warmer, and seemed to be drawn to another part of the city.

The air did not move through the city, but the growing heat seemed to slip by. The lightning above grew more intense, and a light twinkled in the distance.

A flash of light, filling part of the city in a white-blue dome, quickly collapsing in upon itself. Within instants, the sound of a thousand explosions ringed, and a large blue pulse was seen. The very air itself seemed to be rushed out of the way, causing an instense wind that seemed to sap the combatants' strength.
No debris flew as the growing sphere of blue passed through the borders of the city, engulfing the local lands
Everything seemed to stand still within the rapidly expanding bubble of blue as it faded into the darkness of the night. The city lights died, and all sound seemed to stop. The air seemed stale, empty of all substance. Everyone within the city's area was drained, exhausted of energy and mana. The stillness of the city, of the area, surrounded them.

Lightning cracked from the buildings, the streets, and the lights, as a sphere of swirling energy, materialized itself between the combatants. From within the light, a swirling, burning effigy of the armored Archon appeared.

The lightning grew more intense as the Archon spoke, his voice low and angry.

You have entered my lands, stolen the souls of my people, and waged your fight upon my door. This is intolerable, and you have been purged of your mana." His voice wavered from a voice in the air, and in their minds, distorting between the two effects. It was ominous, drawn out, yet feirce.
Then, the voice boomed in their minds, Now.. Leave my city at once! Or prepare to envoke my wrath.

*Rhiannon glared at the Archon. "So you finally decide to protect your precious city, Archon." Rhiannon got low and screamed at the Archon. The Archon, frozen in place, was then forced to listen to what she had to say. She rose up and got as close as she dared. "Archon, I have taken thousands of souls from you, ruined your economy, and put fear and misery into the hearts of your people. But mark my words, this is far from being the end." Rhiannon backed off and turned around, yet still looking at the Archon. "I will return sometime. I will collect the souls that remain. And neither you, the Void Lords, nor those knights can stop me!" Rhiannon rose her wings and pumped them great force. She then flew out of the city and sphere, and made her way to a remote area, where she could recharge and soon, return to her lair.*

*After some tumbling Torin rose.. He now felt how his new body worked. He looked at his hands and moved his fingers around.. Torin was amazed of Nirthys power..*
*Slowly Torin began to walk around. a bit faster.. and he started running.. Torin was fast.. but now he was even faster..*
"Nirthy.. This is great!"
"So what to do now.. Do we just wait?" Torin said*

did... did he just turn humanoid? Oo er.......

*The blue sphere slammed into Kalek and the mountin, rushing around the form of the massive feature. As the force ended, Kalek collapsed, out of breath. It took all his energy to look at the city and attempt to discern what was going on, to process what had happened. He felt so weak. He needed to rest, and gather his strength.*

Umm, wouldn't he need clothes?

I'm glad this battle is finally over, and that we were able to come to a conclusion. Hopefully, if there is a next time, we won't both go defensive. Although, infinite, I guess we were both testing each other's strengths and weaknesses. That's good, but we drew it on for too long. Well, at least i got a new attack out of it. lol Now let's continue RPing.

"What did I do wrong Nirthy?"
"Sigh.. Torin.. even though I told you so much. you haven't learnt much did you.."
"I do not understand. Why are they laughing?! You explained people laughed if someone told a joke or something funny happened.."
"Just.. Put something on.."

(Okay, Var you're really annoying me since you're the one who keeps continuing this argument well after it should be. I still don't get why I have to get the short end of the stick and be told off for everything I did when I did very little in general. Like I said, I don't recall having destroyed one minion and they kept pouring out to kill me, which isn't a whole lot of fun.

Whatever, I'm out of here. I'm tired of this elitism that there is, where everyone else is a god like invincible being that can do everything and destroy everyone and throw infinite armies of indestructible minions, don't accuse me of god modding before you look at yourself.

So yeah, seeya all.)

You're not leaving are you? So we had a misunderstanding in strategies and power. So what? We worked it out, didn't we? I'd hate to see you tear yourself away from the RP because of it. Everyone has different things in mind for their characters, and everyone is going to have different amounts of power. That also influences the plot, and since mine is world domination and disaster, the main antagonist needs to be powerful enough to fit the role. i hope you understand that.

*Torin now understood.*
"....Tell them you're sorry."
"I.. am sorry."
*Nirthy thought.. "Why. even after I told him so much.. Is he just ignoring it?.. Or maybe its just to much for him.. Maybe he should rest a bit first.. But it doesn't seem like a resting time..*
