Name: Slate

Age: 190~something

Magic: Arcane, but has alot of knowledge of other types of magic.
Special Qualities: Is more resistant to poisons and diseases than most others, a bit stronger with his right arm because its "changed", and can see magic.
Mostly he just knows alot about magic but is kinda clumsy.

Ah, as a bit of a side note, I recently realized that my character shares a few quirks with the character Abel Nightroad from Trinity Blood... No I didn't realize it untill just recently when I was thinking about the anime because my brother mentioned it.

Well, yes, but it kindof depends on how you use it. You'd have to ask Misha about it. There are many ways of using and changing mana (burn, drain, etc.) Personally, I think it'd help to have more abilities (not stuff like levitation, camoflague, illusions etc.). I wish I could think of more examples of what you may or shouldn't go for. We've have a lot of people using lots of different abilities. The most common are the Elements, lightning, shadows, portals, and necromacy.

There are two Void Lords and one Archon: Hellion - elements
Devilak - shadows, minor elements, necromacy, shapeshifting
Archon - psionic powers, able to be used in a large variety of ways

You can find the other characters somewhere in this thread.

I've read a greater portion of the stuff about the other characters. But the reason I ask is because I had an awesome idea for a mage character. He's not much different from most mages except that he sees it all differently than normal mages, which allows him to manipulate mana in a different way.

We still need a bit more info. Do you mean draining mana, or using it "raw", without changing it into elements and whatnot (Like my old character, Isaac did), or what?

Technically, both the former only if it is within a certain distance and the latter rarely being used, he's a mage so he casts spells. Its just that he goes about it differently than most mages would. Such as, he sees spells as nothing more than a ball of mana, where as most of them are nothing but bunched up bundles and are easily taken apart.

Um, okay. I'm not sure that's very original, but it works, I guess. You'll need to put down species, and I find that humans just don't do well in this RP. They have a tendency to fail, somehow. Varasigen and I are both dragons, higher level beings, and misha is an archon, higher level alien. lol I don't know why nobody else picks anything but human, but I don't think they fair well. but it's your choice, and my opinion. Could be something to take into consideration.

So, does he control the arcane, or see the mana of the world? (like Hellion's lower eyes do) What type of magic does he use?

Perhaps a Mana-weaver? Essentially, the mana weaver weaves streams of mana in their surroundings to do different things. I guess it's like making a wave, but instead of it settling, you can harvest it. (Closest I can put it would be moving a heavy gas, and pushing it around to "do your bidding", but you still have to direct it)

Actually my idea was that he can see the mana in everything and can drain mana from his surroundings to cast spells such as arcane except that arcane magic isn't the only form of magic he knows. Also, though he WAS a human he is no longer considered one due to a great deal of physical changes, such as improved memory and strength and whatnot.

Btw he uses his exceptional memory to retain all the information about magic and all the different types of magic that he's learned.

Well, as a mana-weaver, he could weave mana strains like one would with cloth (metaphorical. he's not really making weaving motions like with sewing) and weave the mana into a more elemental nature, such as fire or to push the wind. While he can't truly make mana into something as physical as a rug, one could potentially crystalize it (using the mana to urge crystal growth, and store the mana within a pure, untainted crystal, as the mana was weaved as to carefully structure the crystal)

I think it has much potential. :) It permits for a dangerous force if applied correctly.

I think I understand what you're talking about and its..... kinda how he works.... But not exactly I guess? I wrote a buncha random stuff in a notebook, its kinda a work-in-progress culmination of my magic understanding that also all applies to Slate.

What do you need a history for? Also I told you, he's an alchemist and and artificer. So in general, an inventor. Oh and he has minor magical skills.

It's to tell us more about him. All we know is his name, possible age, race, personality, and what he works as. youy're forgetting to tell us about him personally, his history, and what he can do (power, abilities, etc.). Take a look at everyone else character sheets. You'll find that they have a lot more info than you do.

Fine fine fine.
History: Took an intrest in inventing, alchemy and artificery (Which is essentially the same as inventing) at a young age and has been his passion ever since. Studied magic a bit in order to further his artificery and alchemy skills but was never really interested.

Magic: Knows some arcane magic, mostly used for enchanting and other stuff.
