I need your help here people. I've made this dungeon type map, similar to my previous project known as The Growling Winds, but with more polished gameplay and spells. Basically you choose one out of 4 characters (Champion, Earthshaker, Cleric and Dreadknight) and fight your way through masses of monsters. Each of those characters has 3 spell packs (strength based, agility based and intelligence based spell pack), which you can alter through game. Your goal is to defeat all the bosses of Zul'terrak, an evil place full of trolls, you know how it goes... I have a story backed up, but it's gameplay first (people that know me from before know that it's the way I do things).

One more thing: everytime you finish this map with your friends, I need you to type "-dmg", open the multiboard and PM or e-mail ([email protected]) with data you see there, and I need it to contain: class, level, build (str/agi/int) and % damage done. Example:
1. DK lvl 10 str 25%
2. ES lvl 9 agi 22%
3. CR lvl 8 int 20%
4. CH lvl 7 str 18%
5. ES lvl 5 str 15%

That being said, players that load their hero with "-load" will also have their items bound to their character so that no high lever character can transfer his item to lower lever characters and allow them to have same items as he does. This system also prevents transferring items from one hero to another hero owned by same player (by loading, dropping item and reloading another hero).

Balance:
-Dreadknight's Icy Touch no longer consumes Frost debuff, but stuns the target for 1 second. (down from 3 seconds).

-Flame Wreath on Zul'kis and Zul'rajas grants 1000 spell resistance for 2.5 seconds after it expires (if the target hasn't moved during it's duration) to prevent bosses incinerating targets that can't move away due to Flame Wreath, but it will stun for 1 second only.
-Damage from Cyclones, on Jin'do and Zul'rajas, Fire Wall on Zul'kis and Zul'rajas and Acid Cloud and Desert Scorpion on Hakrash doesn't scale up with number of players anymore.

-Swapped Arcane Intellect and Arcane Power talent positions so that players could make more efficient hybrid builds.
-Cleric's revenge now deals 100% weapon damage + 80% strength (down from 190% weapon damage and 270% strength) and restores 50% of Cleric's strength per dodge/block/parry.
-Cleric's Heroic Strike heal now restores 10 + 120% of hero's strength (changed from 6% of total life)
-Cleric's Divine Shield now absorbs 70% of damage taken, and can absorb up to 40% of cleric's total hit points.
-Champion's Taunt cooldown reduced from 15 to 11, and AOE increased from 450 to 700.

Spell damage
Every attack or spell made against you within 10 seconds has a 33% chance to cause you to deal 125% weapon damage + your total strength to enemies within 200 AOE. Cannot occur more than once every 0.25 seconds.
This spell's chance to crit is determined by spell critical chance.
30 seconds cooldown.

Physical Damage
Deals 120% weapon damage + your total agility to target. Deals 30% bonus damage to bleeding units and restores hit points equal to 15% of damage done. In addition, next 18 damage over time ticks will deal 60% bonus damage on that target.
This spell's chance to crit is determined by physical critical chance.
6 seconds cooldown.

Spell damage
Hero slams the target, dealing 150% weapon damage + total strength and agility and making it unable to cast spells for 2.5 seconds.
This spell's chance to crit is determined by spell critical chance.
8 seconds cooldown.

While active, your 3 next quake or tectonic strikes will deal 100% more damage if there is only one target in AOE, 50% more damage if there are 2 targets, 33.3% more damage for 3 targets, etc. In addition, increases your weapon damage by 20% and spell critical strike chance by 5% for 10 seconds.
9 seconds cooldown.

Passive
Increases your weapon damage by 100% of your agility and your damage over time effects of your abilities by 40%. In addition, removes casting time on your Infernal Rage ability and causes it not to decrease your attack speed.

Healing spell
Heals target friendly unit for 300% weapon damage + 3x total intelligence over 20 seconds. In addition, your normal attacks heal the target for 10% of damage done, and critical strikes heal the target for 50% damage done and increase duration of this spell by 1 second (maximum is 120 seconds).
20 seconds cooldown.

Spell damage
Causes 10 closest enemies to attack the cleric. In addition, next 10 times you take damage, you deal your weapon damage to the attacker.
11 seconds cooldown.

Your next normal attack made within 3 seconds deals bonus damage equal to your total agility + 105% weapon damage, and has it's critical strike chance increased by 35%. In addition, next 6 attacks or spells made against that target will have their critical strike chance increased by 30% on first attack, 25% on second, etc. Only critical strikes will decrease this effect.
12 seconds cooldown.

Spell damage/Healing spell
Causes 100% weapon damage + 75% of your total intelligence spell damage to enemies within 300 AOE, and heals allied units within 300 AOE for same amount. In addition, increases attack speed by 20% and causes normal attacks to deal bonus spell damage equal to 80% of total intelligence.
This spell's chance to crit is determined by spell critical chance.
10 seconds cooldown.

Spell damage
Increases target's armor by 10 and spell resistance by 50 for 60 seconds. In addition, everytime target takes damage your hero deals 50% weapon damage as spell damage to the attacker and slows them for 2.5 seconds (Frost debuff).
This spell's chance to crit is determined by spell critical chance.
0.5 seconds cooldown.

Increases your movement speed by 15%, weapon damage by 30% of your agility and gives your normal critical strikes a 20% chance to deal bonus damage equal to your agility. In addition, increases damage of your blood strike by 10% + your total agility and increases your healthsteal provided by demonic blood by 5%. Lasts 60 seconds.
5 seconds cooldown.

Spell damage
Sacrifices a dark shadow, dealing 200% weapon damage + 2x of your total intelligence to nearby enemy units within 250 AOE of the dark shadow, and applies frost debuff to them for 8 seconds. In addition, you gain shield that absorbs 70% of incoming damage, up to equal to sacrificed dark shadow's maximum hit points + your total intelligence points of damage.
This spell's chance to crit is determined by spell critical chance.
20 seconds cooldown.

-Map compatible with WoA: Ogre Maul content (spells and items).
-Wc3 standard mob AI removed (which caused units to call for help, return to their locations etc.) to make mobs chase and act more similar to WoW dungeon mobs. This also brings up to custom boss AIs.
-Hopefully fixed all bugs with boss resets.
-Fixed a bug where scorpions could destroy items that first boss drops.
-Added "-roll" command which allows players to roll dice for random number between 1 and 100 (useful for item drops).

-Old save codes are no longer usable (I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused).
-Fixed a problem which caused "-load" command to give other player's items (thanks to djole_bs for hint).

Balance:
-Cleric's Divine Shield absorbs up to 80% hit points of damage (up from 40%).
-Cleric's Divine Power now increases attack speed by 4% (down from 5) but can stack up to 20 times (down from 12) and lasts 60 seconds (up from 30).
-Heroes now gain 61 hit points per level (up from 31), and 22 mana per level (up from 14), but gain 10 hit points per strength (down from 19) and 8 mana per int (down from 11). This change is made so that hit points for tanks and other party roles wouldn't vary that much.
-Hit points regeneration rate gained from strength lowered.
-Mana regeneration rate gained from intelligence lowered.
-Heroes have 100 bonus base mana.
-Out of casting and out of combat regeneration rates increased.

-Spell resistance works in a same manner like armor (constant reduction).
-Damage absorbing spells now absorb lethal damage and prevent unit from dying and losing too much hit points on first hit.
-Fixed many various bugs related to spell and armor reduction all spells will deal proper damage (reduced by either armor or spell resistance).
-Changed armor stats: heroes gain 1 armor per 5 agility (up from 1 armor per 20 agility), but armor reduces 1% physical damage per point of armor with diminishing returns (down from 2% per point).

-All items have been rearranged to fit new inventory system (fewer weapons, but this is backed up by other slot items).
-Consumable items can now stack for up to 5 items of same type per slot.

When a game starts player 1 (Red) gets to choose if players will roll for all items, rare and epic items or just epic items.
All players choose if they want to use dialogs (buttons) to select Need, Greed or Pass, or if they want to use chat (typing -need (or -n), -greed (or -g) or -pass (or -p)).
If all players pass on an item, or the item's rang is bellow roll rang (for example green item drops, and looting is set to rare and epic) that item will be given to the next player (starts off with player 1, then next item goes to player 2, next to player 3, etc.).
-Instead of 4 bonus stats per level, heroes will gain 1 strength, 1 agility, 1 intelligence and 3 free stats to put in either of those three.
-Removed camera autolock while not watching talents and inventory.
-Lots of code optimizations.
-Desert Scorcher no longer channels his ability and can't wipe the raid when silenced/stunned, but attacks instead (more dps, less wipes).

-Increased starting hit points of all classes by 100, but reduced hit points gained by strength from 10 to 5.

-Reduced hit points and mana gains from talents which gave bonuses based on stats by 50%.
-Reduced block amount gained per strength from 0.8 to 0.5.
-Reduced scaling of chance stats (crits, dodge, parry, block) per hero stats.
-Out of combat hit points regeneration increased from 2% per second to 3% per second.
-Reduced duration of Open Wound buff from 4 to 2 seconds.
-Reduced healing done by revenge spell from 50% to 10% of total strength.
-Fixed a bug with Divine Judgement buff lasting 4 seconds instead of 3.
-Fixed holy light criticals HoT so that it lasts 9 seconds instead of 4.
-Inner Fire can now target hero units only (to prevent some abuses).
-Seismic Slam cooldown increased from 8 to 12 seconds.
-Quake strike and tectonic strike damage reduced by 50% weapon damage.
-Increased cooldown of Soul Burn and Pummel spells from 8 to 11 seconds.

Bug fixes:
-Quest requirement that concerns killing Hakrash will be marked as completed after you killed him instead of at the begininning of the fight (lol @ me).
-Fixed a bug which caused a player to pass on an item he has recently needed or greeded on if that player pressed ESC afterwards.
-Pressing ESC while watching at some item's stats will properly show current multiboard.
-Cooldown on Mortal Strike reduced to 10 seconds (as it was intented before).

-Changed damage increase of mobs per player from 0/30/60/90/120/150% to 0/30/50/65/80%.
-Damage bonus to mobs in heroic mode increased from 130% to 180%.
-Zul'rajas' spells stolen from players now deal damage based on his weapon damage, and 500% damage/healing if used in blue phase.
-Reduced maximum mana of Zul'rajas from 1100 to 600, but increased mana regeneration rate to 4/sec (each of his spells costs 30 mana).
-Lengthened evocation timer from first to second boss by 20 seconds.
-Heroes and mobs will lose benefits of Out of combat and Out of casting states instantly when entering combat/casting instead of after 2 seconds.

Well, you've used ALOT of WoW rips so the models are pretty awesome looking...
I like the combat system and also how the Trolls call an alarm. The terrain however is crap.
Spice it up with some more doodads. The tileset and cliffs are good, but you need more doodads. Another thing, you've used bazillions of WoW models, perhaps you can use some custom icons to go with the models?
All in all a good map, though it need some improvements. Good luck Serbianbeast.

Pros

+ Simple, but good AI (trolls alarming and etc)
+ Epic boss fight
+ Great Combat System, one of the best I've seen
+ Great Hero Concept (leveling, diffrent builds and etc)

Cons

- Terrain (Beta Version, doesn't really matter...)
- No "Guideing Line" or Storyline
- Almost no armor/weapon-drops
- No "History/Description" about weapons and etc

All in all

For a Beta, the map in general is very, very good, part from the terrain, which doesn't really matter in a Beta anyway.

The Combat System however, is great. For me, it's almost beyond words and I don't understand how you were able to do this in WC3!
And the "Hero Leveling System" is an other great thing, it's simple, yet very good for a Beta Version!

Ty for review Arowanna92, I'm glad you like it. Just started writing some description for items (thank you for the hint). Terrain is a little less criminal now, and item drop rate has been slightly increased. Some items added aswell.

On the other hand...
OMFG, you MUST make BALANCE, BALANCE and BALANCE
Those creeps are impossible, me and three friends died 4 times to kill a troll guard

Big news people! Since this map is closing to the finish phase, I'm about to start making the next map in the series (lvl 10 - lvl 20), including new spells, talents, items, etc. So I need you to test this one, play it with your friends, whatever, and report any bugs you find. Love it. Got to lvl 9 Dreadknight with a mate being a cleric tho the clerics heals were quite weak(and in the end he just went dps cuz it wasnt making any difference if hes healing me or not). So yeah my suggestion will be to buff up heals. Other then that this game just needs more content, love how it plays out currently. Its so native to wc3 :)

You're right, before level 5 (it's when you get your first talent) it's quite hard to play a cleric, but later on, they're priceless in group. But it's up to you :) Tnx for reviw. +rep

Believe me when i say its too less even after level 5. I was even giving priority to him for all weapons and he was stating only his main stat. He couldnt heal half my HP spamming all his mana. Another thing I would like to point out is the slow hp/mana regen out of combat. Its just really not interesting and attractive to wait half a minute between each 20 seconds(20 ic, 30 ooc for most of the time when i tested). Its just better design to increase the regen so people actually get more playtime then wait time.

Hmm you might be right about that regen, but I have to disagree on healing. Cleric is simply irreplaceable in groups, and I know what I'm saying since a friend of mine has a lvl 9 cleric and manages to keep me alive in every situation (even in the new dungeon). It's an imperative for him to put up all his stats in intelligence and there should be no problems.

Anyway, I'll look into regen :)

I love the, but lack the time to write a full review for now. What I like to say before you integrate your save/load system too deep in your map, that I loaded up my hero, and possibly mis-wrote an "O" instead of a zero which made me level 60 :p I could of cause solo the whole thing with my new level 60 devine cleric :) Just saying, that a load code saying the hero to be level 671 should return an error instead of just setting the hero to the max level (60)

You should fix this, or it will be abused

Edit: I need your help. Every time you finish this map with your friends (3 or more players) i need you to type "-dmg", look at that table and tell me (in a PM here on hive or through email: [email protected]) the stats. It's important to say what class the player is, what level, what build (str/agi/int) and how much percent damage he has done. PM/mail example:
1. DK lvl 10 str 25%
2. ES lvl 9 agi 22%
3. CR lvl 8 int 20%
4. CH lvl 7 str 18%
5. ES lvl 5 str 15%
This will help me balance classes.

Well, I'm making it right now. It's a long process since all mobs and bosses have custom made AI and stuff... Plus I keep finding bugs so it takes ages to build a new chapter. -.- But ye, I am making progress and first version (with 2 - 3 bosses) should hit public in about 5 days. It will be uploaded here but not in the map section because it's still a WIP.

Quick Review

I gave the new map a Singleplayer try (as most people I know don't got time for WC3 anymore).
The map is near perfection now, but it got some eyecandy left.

Game Interface

- No Upkeep can be changed into "Desert Winds" and the description can explain what version it is, how to contact you and etc.

- Gold and Lumber, there must be something fun you can make out of it. Lumber could be kills and etc.; there are thousands of things you can do with it.

- Quests - Main Quest - Desert Winds - When a boss is killed. This should be indicated in the Desert Winds log, "greying out" the name of the killed boss.

- If you hover your mouse of the icon of your hero, when he's dead, it says:
[Name of hero] (Dead)
Revived at Altar
This could be changed into Automatically Revived, or something more fitting.

Hotkeys

- The “~” icon can’t be activated at all keyboards and should be changed into a letter instead. Z, X, C and V are fitting keys.
My Hotkey to “Spell packs” is the Swedish letter Ö, just letting you know.

Items

- Drop item on shop to sell can be removed, it's just annoying for us "eyecandy lovers".
(This is changed in Game Interface!)

- When you try to pick up a ring, when you already have one in your inventory, it says "You already have a trinket". I know, trinkets could be rings, but change it to "Ring" anyway.

Talent Tree

- The "lasers" or whatever, they are really annoying. Adding some sort of non-motion "lasers/whatever" would be much better.

Alright, most of it changed:
-Lumber now indicates minutes, food indicates seconds.
-Quest requirements become gray when you kill certain bosses.
-"Drop item on shop to sell" replaced with "Soulbound" which shows if an item is bound to a player.
-"Revive at altar" changed to "Revival in a few seconds."
-"No upkeep" changed to WoA, and when you hover over you can see my email.
As for the ~ key, I'm still not sure how to change that hotkey. :/

And "One or more workers aren't earning their keep." into "|cffFFFFFFBuild your character here by choosing Spell Packs and more.|r" or something that seems fitting to you.

I hate the fact that the Interface won't allow you to use " , "...

Well... I was a bit bored and had nothing to do and noticed that you had "less appealing intro" to your map, and decided to "kick it up a notch".
You don't have to use it, and it's not even complete yet.
I still have to make the "Features" more appealing, add icons, spell descriptions and etc.

Anyway, here it is, or, what I got so far.

This map is still in its beta phase, and I need your help!
Everytime you finish this map with your friends (a party greater than 3),
I need you to type “-dmg”, open the Multiboard and send me a PM or e-mail ([email protected]) with the data you see there.
It needs to contain Class, Level, Build (Str/Agi/Int) and % damage done.

Example
1. DK Level 10 Str 25%
2. ES Level 9 Agi 22%
3. CR Level 8 Int 20%
4. CH Level 7 Str 18%
5. ES Level 5 Str 15%

This will help me to balance the classes!

-Hopefully fixed all bugs with boss resets.
-Fixed a bug where scorpions could destroy items that first boss drops.
-Added "-roll" command which allows players to roll dice for random number between 1 and 100 (useful for item drops).
-Fixed a bug which allowed Earthshaker to stack up damage from Firestorm infinitely.
-Escape button now selects your hero, resets your camera and closes talent tree (if it's open).
-Drop chance for trash mobs greatly increased (from 15% for single player to 50% for 5 players).
-Changed map preview picture.
-Changed hotkeys for lvl 10 spells from D to F since many people using custom keys complained about not being able to use hold position which is vital for some bosses.
-Many cosmetic improvements.
-Soulbound items have Soulbound tags on them now.

-Save code now works in a different way: code is bound to player and no other player can use the same code. (thanks to nk.Kole aka Veverak for idea).
-Old save codes are no longer usable (I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused).
-Fixed a problem which caused "-load" command to give other player's items (thanks to djole_bs for hint).

Balance
-Cleric's Divine Shield absorbs up to 80% hit points of damage (up from 40%).
-Cleric's Divine Power now increases attack speed by 4% (down from 5) but can stack up to 20 times (down from 12) and lasts 60 seconds (up from 30).
-Heroes now gain 61 hit points per level (up from 31), and 22 mana per level (up from 14), but gain 10 hit points per strength (down from 19) and 8 mana per int (down from 11). This change is made so that hit points for tanks and other party roles wouldn't vary that much.
-Hit points regeneration rate gained from strength lowered.
-Mana regeneration rate gained from intelligence lowered.
-Heroes have 100 bonus base mana.
-Out of casting and out of combat regeneration rates increased.

- "Fast and Exiting Gameplay" is empty
- "Author’s Notes", I don't know what you want to write there, so that's up to you! ;D

-Map compatible with WoA: Ogre Maul content (spells and items).
-Wc3 standard mob AI removed (which caused units to call for help, return to their locations etc.) to make mobs chase and act more similar to WoW dungeon mobs. This also brings up to custom boss AIs.
-Hopefully fixed all bugs with boss resets.
-Fixed a bug where scorpions could destroy items that first boss drops.
-Added "-roll" command which allows players to roll dice for random number between 1 and 100 (useful for item drops).
-Fixed a bug which allowed Earthshaker to stack up damage from Firestorm infinitely.
-Escape button now selects your hero, resets your camera and closes talent tree (if it's open).
-Drop chance for trash mobs greatly increased (from 15% for single player to 50% for 5 players).
-Changed map preview picture.
-Changed hotkeys for lvl 10 spells from D to F since many people using custom keys complained about not being able to use hold position which is vital for some bosses.
-Many cosmetic improvements.
-Soulbound items have Soulbound tags on them now.

-Save code now works in a different way: code is bound to player and no other player can use the same code. (thanks to nk.Kole aka Veverak for idea).
-Old save codes are no longer usable (I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused).
-Fixed a problem which caused "-load" command to give other player's items (thanks to djole_bs for hint).

[B]Balance[/B]
-Cleric's Divine Shield absorbs up to 80% hit points of damage (up from 40%).
-Cleric's Divine Power now increases attack speed by 4% (down from 5) but can stack up to 20 times (down from 12) and lasts 60 seconds (up from 30).
-Heroes now gain 61 hit points per level (up from 31), and 22 mana per level (up from 14), but gain 10 hit points per strength (down from 19) and 8 mana per int (down from 11). This change is made so that hit points for tanks and other party roles wouldn't vary that much.
-Hit points regeneration rate gained from strength lowered.
-Mana regeneration rate gained from intelligence lowered.
-Heroes have 100 bonus base mana.
-Out of casting and out of combat regeneration rates increased.[/HIDDEN]

Well, the Ogre Maul is currently in making, but it takes ages to script the whole instance, and even more to fix all the bugs so... you know, it might take a while. :/
Speaking of help... As you might have noticed, my english is not flawless, and I might need some extra help about fixing tooltips of spells, abilities, interface and everything else... You will be credited and mentioned. :) Rep and gratitude included ofc XD

Btw, I've started working with this introduction, and the only thing missing are those wc3 icons. :/

There's no tutorial for that, I made that system from scratch...

@Serbianbeast, are you moving over to SC2 later on, or are you sticking to WC3?

Well, I kinda liked that sc2 editor, and all its possibilities, but sci-fi is just not what I'm into, and I can't do everything I'd like to with it so i guess that I'll stick to wc3. Besides, I haven't got enough money to buy it right now, and there's a long list of things to buy before the sc2 so, you know... Why do you ask?

Tho wc3 is bound to die soon(not really die but alot of the bnet players will be moving to sc2 I'm sure). But I for one support you to stick to wc3 until you get atleast several more dungeons out(Same thing keeping me on wc3, finishing my project).

And sc2 as some people said including you is pretty nice for what i've seen. Plus sci-fi has its good sides too, like being something new ^^

-Cleric's Holy Wrath bonus damage increased from 80% int to 150% int.

Doesn't say it in the game, tried both ogre maul 0.11 and normal 0.10 desert still says it does 80% int in both and its Holy Shock not Holy Wrath.

Well I took a 1 week vacation and now that I'm back I just started testing your map again.

• -dmg makes a seperate scoreboard where ur stats should be and u say -stats with switch between them seems to work pretty well works throughout the whole game not just at the end.

• You should add a -suicide command incase people get stuck from knockbacks or if a tank that can't be killed just wants to die to restart.

• And a -zoom or -zoomout or just different camera angle options with a good birds eye view would be great especially at the blue orb guy the main thing about that fight is having to angle your camera just to see the damn blue orbs but I guess thats the only thing that makes that boss so damn hard for noobs.

• On the first troll mobs my earthshaker friends hero dissapeared completely after dying and we had to rm.

• What does dodge precision and parry expertise do and it should say what they both do under a combat quest or something in the questlog also how much spell damage does spell resistance reduce exactly 1 spell resist = 1 damage?

• Would it be possible if you could add actual spellbooks as you might run out of space for abilities whenever the heroes hit 60 or whatever the max level is as everyone loves tons of spells anyways I like it how it is right now as that would take too much work for one maker and those abilities are very complicated so it makes up for it just that some one really wanted me to suggest this.

After like 7 tries on the last boss on the last try we attacked him then when he was suppose to teleport down and cast tornado he just died and was stuck in the middle but unselectable but he did die somehow at his throne and we got the item.
