Which is why I said: Adding Something is not necessarily a retcon. The main meaning of Retcon is to CHANGE the original stuff.
Though there are times that adding something to a past story can also be considered a retcon IF it would GREATLY affect and/or alter the original history lore itself...

But in Orgrim Doomhammer's case... i dont consider it as retcon
His existence in WC2 as being the new warchief that killed and overthrow Blackhand DID NOT changed anything out of the context of WC1 Orc Campaign. His addition as a new major story character for WC2 DID NOT affect nor alter anything, hence it only made it better as a story.

Considering:
PLAYER (Unnamed Orc Commander) of WC1 = Orgrim Doomhammer (WC2 NEW Orc Warchief), DOES NOT change anything at all.
Necroing a bit
WC2 Orc Commander was Saurfang
WC2 Human Commander was Turalyon

BoTDP Orc and Human Commanders were killed at Draenor

Except that Saurfang as a character DID NOT existed in the original wc2 rts lore, for that matter even in wc1 and wc3. he is just an addition to wc2 history content from WoW.

Turalyon is a high commander yes, but there are other more than him on different battlegrounds.

Ps: DONT MIX the content of the WoW novels for wc2 from the ORIGINAL wc2 game campaigns itself. In terms of story comparisons
(Novel) WoW-ToD =/= (Game) Warcraft 2-ToD
(Novel) WoW-BtDP =/= (Game) Warcraft 2-BtDP

Yes, both depicts the second war and in the aftermath... but two are different stories from one another.

Much the same thing can be said for the 1st war:
(Movie) Warcraft 2016 =/= (Game) Wacraft:Orcs and Humans

your campaign is awesome dude i like it a lot but one small issue is...the first few maps are kinda empty i know you want to simply put warcraft 2 in warcraft 3 but at least make maps a bit challenging in mission 2 you just win every battle so easily you fight 2 units when you have 8 add on that the hero things look so empty like fall of stormgrade or hillsbrad since we have a good amount of doodads in warcraft 3 those can be put in use to make the town look like an actual town it wont effect gameplay by just placing couple buildings and a fire place to hillsbrad, what seems to be a town in fall of stormgrade is seen north of the human buildings and it looks good why dont you add it on the actual accessible area the mission is still the same as warcraft 2 but its updated devices back then differ from now limitations back then arent a thing now so if the campaign owner is still active please consider this option :)
