We have taken drastic steps to differentiate the concepts, but the scourge is going to be Campaign only.

The forsaken will focus on several high specialty units, and some constructs, who agument legions of skeletons, there will be no nerubians, and few other 'monstrosities' and they will focus on magic.

I agree with and like most of your suggestions, we will keep them in mind.
That is good. But Skeletons? I don't think Forsaken have those. Forsaken really do not have any mindless types around and tend to have some amount of flesh remaining.

Their infantry should be more Footman than Ghoul in design in my opinion, as their mental faculties are mostly intact and they would have actual military training.

But other then that it sounds good.

Oh, and Chemical weapons should definitely be heavily involved with them. Edit: That would probably make them strong against infantry as a faction, but weaker against structures.

Edit2: Yet more ideas. To further separate them make it so the Forsaken do not need blighted ground to build on, as none of their new architecture is summoned from Northrend. Whatever artwork is used for the buildings should definitely be inspired by the new Forsaken stuff.

The reason I'm making all of these suggestions is because I really want to see the Forsaken done right in an RTS. Too many people just think undead is undead.

The skeletons are sentient skeletons, which will be noted in the lore.

And they will noticably be more efficiently attired, like you noted, mental faculties are intact.

Also, you are correct, while fragile, they will focus on powerful magic, support abilities, and we will use some architecture inspired by wow.

And I agree with you, the forsaken deserve a level of completion that hasnt been touched on.

That sounds good. But I don't think they should just be called Skeletons, nor do I think any effort should be made to make them skeletons if any better design comes up.

Forsaken don't really have many different types, though I don't doubt that some Forsaken could be skeletal so I don't really mind if you do that. I just don't think it is the Skeleton part of them that should be emphasized.

Forsaken infantry already have a name and that is Deathguard and I think that Skeleton or not, that is what they should be called.

Also some WoW stuff that someone might want to look at for inspiration for units or something.

Seriously... I have a feeling the Forsaken aren't going to be -at all- what they were in WC3... And the Forsaken were most awesome in WC3.

First of all, why skeletons? Skeletons are easily disposable shock troopers with no intelligence beyond following simple commands, the exception being Skeleton Magi, who have SOME intelligence left in-tact, but not self sentience.
And the pact with the Burning Legion sounds nothing like Sylvanas, who was HUNTING DOWN the Burning Legion agents ONE BY ONE.

She were hunting them down because they were her enemies, at the time. Remember how she let Varimathras join her? Her ultimate goal is to kill Arthas, and I don't really think she cares by what means, be it demons or mortal races.

Hey guys.

And the pact with the Burning Legion sounds nothing like Sylvanas, who was HUNTING DOWN the Burning Legion agents ONE BY ONE.

Sylvanas doesn't despise the Demons, she was only hunting down the Dreadlords because they threatened her and the Forsakens' very existence. Plus, she needed some place for her people to grow, and seeing that the Dreadlords occupied most of Lordaeron after Arthas left, it was a problem.

She SPECIFICALLY SAID that she will not be a prawn to another evil master. (e.g. Arthas, e.g. the dreadord trio, e.g. Sargeras). Her 'ultimate goal' is to be free(and kill Arthas). She finally got her freedom, her mind, and now she just serves some evil demon overlord? What the hell's the point? :/

TWIF... A skeleton has no organs, has no mind, has NOTHING but bones; It is about the same as a Golem. How the hell can something think without a brain?

Her vengeance against Arthas is greater than anything else, is she've gotta ally Sargares to make that happen, I think that she will.

Oh, and this is warcraft, it's fantasy :D

I can't help but feel like we agree on things and then argue about them again?
Or did we never come to an agreement in the first place?

I'm with Debobe, she may be an evil undead, hate filled monstrosity but she's still an elf, she's still a stubborn a**.
She wouldn't team with the forsaken.

We also remembered that the Forsaken have considerably reduced numbers of Necromancers and so Skeletons would take a much reduced (if any) role...

On the contrary, I didn't even think the Forsaken were going to be in release 1, so really, is it worth this much argument right now!? =/

@Taylor - Any chance I could get the latest version of your WoW model map (with all of them in)? Cheers :)

You really don't seem to get me. Sure, you're ignoring WoW lore, fine, but by doing this stupid 'omagawd skeletons are now self-conscious THINK ABOUT THE POOR SKELETONS' thing you're really fucking up the whole Lore that WC2 and WC3 have established. In every single situation, skeletons were mere prawns and shock troopers that couldn't even SPEAK. How come that now they are somehow extremely intelligent and awesome?

Taylor, that's awesome. :)
Just a few things:
1) The "tip" of the barrel has to be a little wider on the start, if you see what I mean. You see where this little blade comes out of the bottom? The rifle should be fatter there.
2) The scope has to be larger(he's a dwarf after all!) and the glass itself at least blue or something.

Skeleton is a state of being, not a mental shape. this will be clearly illustrated in the mod.

Also, for t1 infantry, really, really basic units are required.

Thanks for the links, but remeber, the first release will not have the forsaken.

@PWH, my thinking.
I know, I just hope to influence the direction before they even get started on.

The only way the skeletons make sense to me, is that the skeleton part of them is only as important as the white beards of Dwarf riflemen. And that as far as the story went, not all were so decayed.

Edit: Some more Deathguard types.

Hey Cyber, sorry for the late reply, nice to know your keeping tabs ;)
Your best bet for detailed and up to date news is our moddb page, www.moddb.com/mods/warcraft-iv-starcraft-ii, it is a bit of a chore to shuffle through all this *gestures at thread*.

UPDATE: http://www.wclotd.com/ is now online, that'll be your best bet in the coming months, though the content pages are currently disabled, while we finalize a few things ;)

Are you making more like these or just going to use the WoW models/skins?
Just wondering and its looking good so far and will he be ranged, melee, or just a dwarf in technology aiding his fellow dwarves in defending his kingdom?
Oh and will you let Ogres and Pandaren join the Horde and Alliance in this and looking for more from this.

Warlord:
1) I'm pretty sure Taylor mentioned that WoW models are just placeholders, and he will be remaking all of the models needed for this project, one by one.
2) It's a Dwarven Sniper. I think that's all the information they gave out so far about this unit.
3) Why the hell would Ogres and PANDAREN join the forces of the Horde and the Alliance respectively? When does that little piece of lore that I missed happens?
