By any chance, did you take the name of the game off Oblivion or Morrowind?
Or any other Elder Scrolls game?

The Adiktuz Scrolls came from The Elder Scrolls... ^_^

Arzachel is a moon crater... haha...

but basically the naming system was similar to the TES series... they always start with TAS... ^_^

Some updates before I go inactive

New Ability Settings

There is a small change on the settings of abilities. You would now choose 3 offensive abilities and 1 supportive ability. Supportive abilities would usually be giving you bonus to your skills, and are powerful but they have they're own drawbacks and lockdown periods. The stronger the supportive ability is, the greater the drawback.

You will have a total of 8 offensive abilities and 4 defensive abilities to choose from for each character.

Cooldown changes

Cooldowns will not be initiated anymore if you fail to cast an ability due to low mana.

Multiboard Updates

A list of your abilities with their levels and current exp will be shown on the multiboard.
With that said, I would now go to my 3month inactivity

New UPDATES!

Well, just happened to work a bit on this... Increased the map size since I'll be adding some instances/dungeons on the map itself to make it easier to work with...
 
Crafting/Guilds Sneak-Peek

Crafting includes (for now):
  • Equipment Crafting
  • Ability Scrolls

Guilds and crafting go together, artisans from guilds offer the crafting sevices so before you can have access to the service of the guild's artisans, you need to finish some quests for them first. Additional services can be available after finishing more advanced quests for a guild. Benefits of befriending a guild would be access to certain equipments, artisan services, new quests etc...

Guilds (for now, names are just based on what they do and is subject to change):
  • Blacksmith Guild
  • Mage Guild
  • Alchemist guild

The alchemist guild would probably be the first one that you will (or will want to) befriend, since they are the only ones where you can get potions.
 
not yet... but I just happened to have some free time this past few days... but I have lots of upcoming exams... 3 more weeks of class... ^_^

well warcraft 3 is still awesome! (wish blizzard would do some major revamps on world editor T.T seriously)

And i don't look at maps that much so i guess ima check some out later.

RPGMaker...? I used RPG maker once dunno why I bailed ahaha
 
I like triggering in wc3 much better than in RPGMaker (its pretty hard as I really find RGSS hard to understand), and the GUI actions there are pretty much limited... though its really good to make old-school styled RPGs... ^_^

the SPRPG of -Kobas- looks really cool (and its a hosted project)... ^_^

and yeah, I hope blizzard would add some more functionality to the editor...

yeah... I wasn't able to cover it with the flooring but I'm adding some doodads around those parts...

and oh, I just played the demo of the SPRPG of -Kobas-, the terrain is cool, especially the doodads from the High-res pack... (I wish I know how to compress their textures)

EDIT: oh, actually I managed to lower the terrain a bit and now the flooring covered the parts with soil... ^_^

yeah, sight blockers (there are sight blockers in those walls, look at the shadowed part, not the black part...)

I really have no idea on lighting (well if its just adding lights, I know, but about something more advanced like lessening the amount of light in an area, I have no idea)

yeah, the guild is pretty big, I'll resize some of the doodads (the tables and anvils, I think the others are just fine)... ^_^

well I'm talking about atmosphere lighting to emulate the lighting in e.g. indoor, houses etc. There are lighting models I can give you that, but you know aesthetics. I'd rather do the basic layout first :D

Systems

Area entry restrictions

The "indoor" areas and some dungeons will only be enterable at a certain part of the day (day or night), if you're still inside when the state of the day changes, you will automatically be thrown out... ^_^
Weather

Added weather changes (normal, light rain, heavy rain), which is randomized every 3 minutes... Of course you won't experience them indoors and in dungeons... thinking if I can add other events depending on the weather (though maybe not since I think that it would just overcomplicate things...)
Real life update?

well I have two full reports to pass this friday and an exam tomorrow... ^_^
 
and oh, I've added weapons to the unit... now, orbs and the likes would go to the off-hand slot...

What do you think if I remake the abilities like this:

The abilities that you have will depend on your weapon, you will only choose the supportive spell at start and then the three offensives will change depending on your weapon? and ofc, they will still level up upon usage... (just have an idea on how to do it, haven't really tried yet though)
 
I played it just a few minutes (sorry I had work :)...3 things I realized...

- When the enemy in front of me dies and someone is attacking at the back, the
hero does not face the attacker even if I press the attack...
- The map entrace is unrecognizable, perhaps you could put circle of power instead
of force wall?...
- I had trouble finding that the only way to go to the ghost mage is ESC...

But in all, the map is great...but may I suggest adding more sfx on spells?...

Well if you're gonna ask me I think it's an awesome idea (I really liked the FF Advance games :D)

And like if you for example, leveled the weapon skill to it's maximum, it'll be permanent. . . something like that.

anyway that could be something you could ponder on :D
 
After sometime of thinking I decided not to do it... why? because it would only be good on some classes but not on others (especially on mages)

@1 - ofc, he won't face the unit... its your job to do it... ^_^
@2 - I think the message says that, I'll look at it
@3 - what ghost mage?

and about the sfx, they're minimal since you're supposed to be able to spam the skills, and adding more sfx or use high detail sfx would cause lag on lower end comps...

and it would also make it harder to use the spells if your screen gets spammed by sfxs right?

UPDATES

I think I wont be having progress for the following last three weeks of my class since the last two weeks will be full of exams (starts next week), while this week, I have free time but I'm starting something on RPGMaker VX and I decided to work on it this week and then resume on this map after my final exams... ^_^

I might continue on with the story/quests after terraining some of the shops.

I have came up with an idea on how to make the abilities non-clickable when you don't have enough mana...

I'll work first with the disabling of unusable abilities, then finish up some more terrain then maybe I could go on with making items...

EDIT:

I'm done with the disabling of unusable abilities... there's just two weird bugs which I cannot fix:

-sometimes an ability icon flashes about 1 or two times when disabled...
-the position of the icons gets dislocated if there is an unusable ability, but when all of the abilities are usable, they go back to their natural order...
