Here I am, at long last, having made a terrain.

And fuck was it a bitch to do. For those who care to know:
I didn't use the raise tool a single time, the terrain consist
ONLY of doodads, and the roll is flipped to 270, so every-
thing is done sideways. The image in "hidden" tags provide
a "normal" point of view of the self-same scene.

As you will shortly see, this is a rather surreal idea,
with a river floating sideways on the wall of a cave.
I also want to take the liberty of thanking fladder,
Frank and Mr.Goblin for actively helping me during
the making if this terrain.

I hope you like it.

Oh, that.

Well, that "shot" isn't meant to be aesthetic, it's just to show the scene from the normal point of view, without the flipped camera.
- It's the attached image that's the real deal.

Oh and Weng, again I must confess to not fully understanding what you mean.
I see no glowing trees, nor was any of them intended to glow.

My only gripe is that the water is a bit too transparent,it took me some time to realize that it was water.
Other than that it's an awesome idea and the execution is stellar as always.

The atmosphere is really good, and I like that hole a lot, but it lacks... purpose?! As the viewer I feel unsure as to what I'm supposed to be seeing.

While open interpretation might be a good thing in art, having no idea what it is or how I feel about it, doesn't seem like a good thing.

-Not sure if you were going for a realistic view. The moon can't be so low, the sun would have already been up.

-The front rocks on the edge are too sharp, try rotating them for a more pleasant view.

-That tree is blocking up the view, which could have opened up a nice background.

-The background itself could use a little more editing, make it a little softer and perhaps another layer of mountains.

Nice too see that your still active!

I'll take that as a compliment.

And maybe it is just you, cause I can't see none.
(I do agree, though, viva la .png) I don't honestly
know why I didn't save it as such.

I've gotten this a lot lately, by various people. "What is the focal point" or "What is the purpose of this terrain?" Personally, I find it very obvious, and I really don't see how you can't see it, but then I am biased, seeing as it's my terrain.

The point is surrealism, and the purpose is that this is a sideway cave, where the water on the "wall" is supposed to be a river flowing along the wall, which is the right way down. I'll see to some idea's I've had to make that more apparent.

-Not sure if you were going for a realistic view. The moon can't be so low, the sun would have already been up.

I wasn't, and even if I was the Moon could sure as shit be that low, it could be rising, for instance. And what reality is concerned: Who are we to know the exact height of the terrain? Those mountains in the distance could be enormous, and thus hiding the sun behind them and the cave might be low in a valley, looking upwards toward the mountain-tops. Or, there could be heavy clouds covering the entire night-sky, only giving way for the moon to shine through. I get your point, but it's not really important to the terrain at all.

-The front rocks on the edge are too sharp, try rotating them for a more pleasant view.

As opposed to the more over-scaled centralized rocks? Well, I agree they're sharp compared to those, but I don't agree about making them on par with the stretched ones, if anything I'd rather do something about the central-ground to make the stretched surfaces of the rocky landscape lessen.

-That tree is blocking up the view, which could have opened up a nice background.

Yes it is, and no it wouldn't. It's placed there by intention, because if it wasn't there, due to the awkward angle I'm working with in this terrain, it'd look horrible. If you don't understand, you'll just have to trust me about it.

-The background itself could use a little more editing, make it a little softer and perhaps another layer of mountains.

Maybe, maybe...

Nice to see you drop by from time to time :)
