We have Friends list, sure. But is it weird that I want to be notified whenever certain Users post threads (or maybe even posts in general, though that might get a little much)?
That system works exactly the same in the new site if not better. That's my experience at least.I think we're really used to the subscription system in the old hive, how we should bring it back?
Hm, shame. So, any chance of adding that functionality? : )I was actually hoping that following meant notifications when those you follow post threads and posts. Misleading indeed. I was hoping for more for sure.
That's what I was gonna say. Aside from the name (subscribe -> watch) & where it shows up (subscriptions list -> (unread) watched threads list), what exactly is different?Ralle said:That system works exactly the same in the new site if not better. That's my experience at least.
Hm, thanks for pointing that out... That's almost exactly what I'm looking for.
You're not breaking friendships like in real life by doing that, lol. It's just unfollowing people. They won't care, and if they do, they probably deserved to be unfollowed. And I don't want to just UnFriend them over something dumb like this.

Basically, just do what you need to do and you can use the link jondrean provided.

Perhaps easier than all that (creating an entirely separate sub-system to Friending & News Feeding) would be to just include a boolean "NewsFeed this Friend?" option for each user on your Friends list. And then only populate the News Feed with subscribed Friends.
