Spotlight: Warcraft III Reforged Classic+ Mod

I honestly can't tell by looking or by reading the webpage - is this an HD mod, or an SD mod...?

If it's an HD mod that uses HD models that look similar to the original SD ones, then, AWESOME! If it's actually just an SD mod, then...why?
5. Launch the game and go to the Reforged tab in the options.

5.1 Enable Classic Mode in Bottom Right Corner (suggested)
or
5.2 Reforged Mode with Environment set to Reforged.

? I already said I read that webpage and couldn't tell whether it was HD or SD

It says enable Classic Mode, but I don't know whether, with this mod installed, that is SD or is HD.

Can you or someone please just answer a question for once instead of trying to act like people can't read as opposed to simply not understanding what they read?
I quoted it, then I screenshot'd after I highlighted it for you explaining its for SD (suggested) & Classic HD, thus the name Classic+.

I'm trying to help you, I'm not sure how else I can answer it!

I notice you edited your comment, so I'll reply.

Thank you for your answer that it does infact replace Classic HD models and textures, as well as SD ones.

Since you say you're trying to help, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you genuinely didn't understand why I was so frustrated by your responses. In general, if someone says they read X but didn't understand it and would appreciate an explanation of what X means, and all you do is screenshot X with no added explanation of your own, in normal situations (e.g., in the workplace, or even when texting a friend) that is considered rude, unhelpful, and maybe even a bit condescending. Likewise, a response like "it says blah" is rude compared to saying "it supports blah," because the former assumes I didn't bother to read the thing we're discussing despite saying I did. If I said I read it, then I already know what it literally says; I don't need it merely quoted back to me. Does that make sense?

Now, to elaborate on why I didn't understand the webpage: because it said Classic was suggested, it wasn't clear to me whether it actually changed anything with HD, or whether it merely didn't break the existing Classic HD graphics - or, whether, perhaps, it modified Classic to no longer be SD, but somehow HD.

The text itself didn't use the term HD ever (nor SD), so I only had the settings screenshot to go off of, and I wasn't sure whether that was just a before-after like what I assumed their other screenshots were, so I wasn't sure which setting the mod was actually primarily designed for.

In particular, I'm looking for some kind of HD models, so the talk about Classic on the site was (and tbh still is) confusing - that's why in my original question, I asked "why" it would be for SD (ie, what does it even change about SD? Just things like the possession animation?).

I think we just misunderstood each other.

I was trying to answer your question by quoting and highlighting the part from the page that explains it, not to imply you hadn’t read it. I can see how that might have come across the wrong way though.

To clarify directly: the mod works with both Classic (SD) and Classic (HD), but it’s primarily designed around improving the Classic/HD visuals while keeping the original style and readability. The suggestion to use Classic Mode is just a preference, not a limitation.

Anyway, I don’t want to derail the thread further — just wanted to clear that up.

EDIT: I see you rewrote your last message entirely. Please ignore the below.

Your first two replies never gave "the simple answer" or any answer - first you literally just pasted the link to the website. Then shortly after you edited that post to have a quote from the site. Then you made a comment with just a screenshot, then edited that to have another quote from the site.

None of that was an answer before the comment of yours that I replied to in my last one. All you did prior to that was regurgitate stuff from the site. How do you not understand this?

You also seem to have missed the point that not only was my problem with your response the rudeness, but more importantly that it was UNHELPFUL.

Don't go reacting to my comments with angry emojis after I tried to calmy explain something to you and then tell me I'm off topic when my last comment still had plenty of discussion about the mod itself. Now I'm angry too. How can I even consider your apology as genuine now when you're using angry reactions?

I think you’re reading way more into my earlier replies than I intended. I think we’re just going in circles at this point.

I was pointing to the relevant part of the page to answer your question, not trying to imply you didn’t read it. Either way, I’ve now given a direct explanation of how the mod works with Classic/HD.

At this point I don’t think repeating the same argument about tone is going anywhere, so I’m going to move on.

Back on topic.

I just edited my last comment after I noticed you heavily rewrote yours. Please disregard what I said.

There's no dumb questions, just dumb answers. And here's one of them : yes. They are made in the Starcraft 2 engine and this have more polygons, still much less than Reforged.
Which is a good Thing because Reforged is accursed and disgusting and an astounding waste of resources of one's PC. If all the remaster of Wc3 was these War3hd Sc2 models but done across the board i would be fare less bothered by it. Even if they have their own issues and inaccuracies(for one faces almost never are alike the originals at all and for no particular reason, since its the highest poly element of OG assets due to portraits)

To bring more nuance having less poly is good but it's not the only thing : poorly optimized models waste resources and can cause performance issues. I am no modeler (at best I can do tweaks) although it's very easy to fuck everything up.
There's a lot of performance bottleneck in Warcraft 3 (cough single threading cough) and every bit counts !

Pretty sure this isn't completely true, only some are the SC2 ports, and even then they look adjusted for Wc3 SD.
