Sphinx.blp

This is my first skin and I decided to make an update, cuz it sucked (not that it doesn't now). I didn't add team color since the only team color place available is the "hat", or whatever this is called, and the hat won't look cool team-colored. If you really insist on team color I will add it.

No credits please.
Edit it if you want.

Thanks in advance.

You might want to see this (I didn't add in-game screenshots cuz I was lazy):

If you want to see in it's best quality (Wow.. best quality. This skin? Quality?) open it with War3 Viewer since .png and .Hive fuck it up.

Edit: I made a texture for the Sphinx Block:

Here's the two versions (download - white/black (the original was orange but it was too "shouting")):

67chrome: Overall this is a little messy, but cool enough to join other approved skins. That is, if you change the file size from a WIP to something usable. The file size is unusably enormous, I'd strongly recommend updating this to a 256x256 version saved at ~70-80%, and if you really feel like having a high-res version link to one somewhere else in this thread. It looks like it could use a little love on the overall scale of the skin as well, all the detail work and shading seems targeted on little areas rather than the overall thing.

Glad to see this bad boy turned into a Sphynx though. I've been playing around with a similar idea but never got to far with it. Pretty solid addition to Egyptian themed stuff.

Hmmm... it was really hard for me to find which parts to blacken and I will probably shadow it a bit more, but after a few days. And yes it works to obsidian statue too, they have 1 texture which is alike but the obsidian statue requires another texture and I'm making this only for the Obsidian Destroyer, not the statue. And the nose is a bit blurry, true, but when I shadowed it, it messes with the lines and doesn't look good... still, the normal obsidian head is only blackness and some eyes. I will contrast it a bit more... but probably after 1-2 days, can't do it now.

In answer to blacklabel: about the statue - I would gladly make the other skin, it's nothing special, but it won't fit this texture because I tried it on a statue and since the wings borderlines have been removed, there is this strange thing that happens - statue wings are parallelipipeds and the obsidian destroyer's are flat rectangles... if you really want to see what I mean check it in the Model Editor attaching my skin to an obsidian statue, or in World Editor.

Well, It was sharpened before and it just didn't look good to me, I know you guys prefer everything sharpened and shadowed, but you see, the obsidian destroyer's face is like... hmm... on lines? Or how can I say it, the normal destroyer skin is white and black, there after the nose, you can see that I have darkened some parts a little... I want it to look like a human face and I just can't allow myself to sharpen it, it doesn't look that good... Probably I will make an edited, more sharpened and darkened version soon.

To Astaroth

Yes, about the eyes Astaroth, the normal eyes of the sphinx's are that big and I can't make them bigger because they won't look good in the portrait, you see there is no eye "depth" in the model, yes the big eyes would look good there, but in the portrait there is this eye depth and it would, I don't know... like... imagine that you lower an area in world editor and the edges, the distance between lower and raise, will be colored if I paint the eyes bigger, and it will not look realistic... besides, small eyes give an impression of evil character.
