Naga Siren texture edited to look more human. Also made the weapon a hook... thing too look more fisher-like. Fisher of men. And women. And others.

An edit of the Naga Siren to turn her into a more human looking version of the original, closer to a traditional mermaid. It appears like freehand has been used on some sections and the result is generally well done with even parts like the tail...

I like this version, human looking mermaids and sirens always bring that old classic tale vibe. Also, nice colorful scales and effects. Good job, I just do not like that it does not have proper team color.
5/5 + like from me.
Thank you for the high praise! If you or anyone wants to edit it to make the team colour more prominent then they are free to do so

Hey, glad to see you!
You welcome, of course, I like it. I knew exactly what I would do, I would add team color additionally in model itself and it would end in my old thread for monster downloads. Yes I do have one its in my signature, but unfortunately due to job and real life I am super busy these days, I will have barely time to maintain that contest. No time for modelling, but be sure that it would be my priority if I had time. You put good effort in good idea.

Both, I guess xD
I don't think the skin is that dark, but I didn't want it to be pasty pale. I wanted the fins to be dark as well, and have a texture and volume that evoked an African type of hair. I wanted this to reflect what a lot of the sailors and pirates who developed the myth of the sirens would've found attractive, and they certainly weren't seeing all English girls in the Caribbean.

Purely subjective. The myth was made by Greeks initially (possibly some other cultures had similar concepts). What fantasies they had is beyond both of us.
As far as I'm concerned, the design could have included feathers as sirens were also described as harpies in some sources.

I said developed, not made, as yes the idea of the Sirens is originally Greek but the Siren as mermaid did not come until later (though I just checked Wikipedia and there are mermaid-like sirens that appear in earlier ages but still after the ancient Greeks) and the mermaid-siren as it is in popular consciousness owes a lot to that nautical age.

EDIT: I saw your original post in my emails, before you edited it, and no it wasn't gratuitous of me and neither was it a 'racist thing'. I wanted to avoid the 'white as default' thing that is easy to unconsciously fall into (even being not white myself), having grown up in western countries that consider whiteness to be the default, and a big way that that is enforced is through the way people are represented in art. You said the siren was a bit too dark, and I told you why I did what I did creatively. I think even associating a 'darkness' of colour palette with 'devilish or horror' itself comes from that social bias.
