Special Effects help

There is an alternate way to create special effects, making them dummy units ( units having the special effect as model). This way, you could make a model be visible only to you and your allies, but it might be transparent, sadly.

This way you could also show a special effect through fog of war, with sharing shortly its sight range. However, it might fast revealing more than it should.

Units with lower than 10 LoS should do the trick, they do reveal the terrain but they are never able to give you proper intel.

Dummy units with special effects attached to them are often really helpfull and awesome things.
You can for example set the color of the special effect and opacity with triggers, or you can change the location of the model, angle, height, etc.

You can use the same null-model method to hide the effect for certain players but you could also simply hide the unit for those players (or set opacity) locally so you can switch between visible and non-visible at any given moment for each individual player without having to recreate the effect.
Then I havent even spoken of relative locations :D
