They are wordy, delicate and carefully planned.
And generally good poems. But not great.
I liked the "Mirror of Hatred" poem the most out of those I read,
because at the final line you get that "oh... fuck" feeling.
but generally they are too predictable, too easy to interpret.
The thing about poetry is that it is a kind of art; many people feel like
they can write poetry, when they can't. And many people feel like they
don't have a clue, when they do. Heh. The thing about poetry that few
seem to actually get, is that they are supposed to be cryptic.
When you write a poem, the direct story told should never be the exact
same as the story you want to convey. "Reading between the lines" and
all that, which is what makes a truly great poem good, it can be interpreted
in a hundred various ways and serve to comfort hundreds of more people.
As I stated; They aren't bad writing, they're just not really amazing poems,
because poetry takes more than "skill", it takes an artistic touch. Your poems
remind me more of song lyrics, really, than poems.
Oh, and, considering there are so many, would you mind pointing us to those
few you personally think is your best works? I'd appreciate that.
Interesting site, though, I might have to throw some of my poems at it.
