Socialist Demons

I am making a race that would consist of socialist demons.
I intend to somehow combine regime of socialism and demon powers to create this race.
I decided that the leader would be Stalin and that he will have few lieutenants (Heroes), others would be regular units.

However, I don't know which abilities to give them, I don't know how to make them function. And this is where I need your help.

Note: They are isolated for the early and mid game from everybody except other demon races.

I would suggest powers that work stronger the more there are, for example stacking auras or simultaneous channeling.

That's a nice idea. However, I am thinking about making units that fear Stalin, but tooltips are propagandic, like, for example, increase attack and movement speed aura around Stalin should have something like "Our beloved Stalin's presence inspires his people to work harder." or something like that, while everybody knows that they work harder because he will execute them if they don't.
I even decided to give him the title "Gardener of Human Happiness".

  1. Strength in Numbers (Aura): The hero gets stronger the more friendly units within the aura.
  2. Iron Curtain (Summon): Creates a circle of iron blocks around the target. All the blocks have shared health.
  3. Might of the Masses (Active Ult): Damage dealt to the hero is dealt to friendly minions around it instead.
  4. Propaganda Machine (Active AOE): 3-5 random enemies join you for 10 seconds.
  5. True Patriot (Active Single-Target AOE): Explode a friendly unit. Deal damages to enemies and gives a temporary buff to fiendlies.
  6. Down with the Bourgeois (Targer hero): The hero takes damage, more damage the more gold the owner has.
  7. Equal Share(Aura): Enemies hit loses gold.
  8. Motherland(Aura): Slow aura. Enemies in the aura get frost slow.

Socialist deamons? Socialism like in Sweden? OK I'll assume you meant Stalinists :D

Jokes aside (I'm all to well aware that this is hardly the place to be disputing sociological theory and true interrelationship between Socialism<>Communism<>Stalinism) I have several ideas:
1. Progressive taxation! I.e. upkeep is dependent not on your food consumption, but on your current gold.
2. You can make good use of Spirit Link ability (all take equal damage ~communism!).
3. You can go with some capitalits/rich man hating as others suggested above: make enemy player lose gold (a formula say GoldLost = max[(PlayerGold-1000) x 0.5; 0].
4. Also, subvert workers of other Players - make them rebel against the ruling class! (either removed, change owner to you or become-neutral-hostile).

Redistribution of Health: Tank units that cast no-mana Healing Wave from their own life.
Stakhanovism: Doubles worker production/Increases amount of workers that can be in a mine at a time but drains their health.
Collectivization: Workers don't need to return cargo (Wisp gathering/acolyte mining).
Electrization: Doubles food capacity, gives a production bonus to buildings over a few seconds, and slowly brings it back down.
Barrier Troops: Summons a ward (or very slow-moving unit). While the ward is active, all the player's units that leave its AOE are killed, giving small combat bonuses to those in the AoE.
Purge the Traitors: Kills random friendly units in the AoE, refunding their cost and giving small combat bonuses to survivors in the AoE.
Useful Idiot: Gives vision of all enemy worker units.
