Recently the Starcraft II beta has finally gone live after years of delay and lack of information. Unlike last year scheduled beta which was killed due to some development problem, this is the real deal.

The initial beta feedback listed on battlenet forums seems mostly positive so hopefully we can look forward to a perfect game in the future.

Starcraft II has the potential to be a total upgrade over Warcraft III as far as custom map content goes due to its very powerful editor and more flexible engine.

Note - The editor is currently not included in the beta, current sources say it will only be included nearer the end of the beta.

I wonder if members here noticed that there was a thread about it in the SC2 forums, just to know. Though having the main menu can't make it up for the beta key. They are saying there will be seevral waves. How many I dont know. To me it is GG 1st wave, i didnt get anything.

I read about some problems though: When I first launched SCII it said it didnt recognize my ATI HD3870 oO card and while everything was fine in my main menu, I saw posts in another place about units disappearing or not showing in-game. I dont have a key to see that myself.

Justin TV is good I think, 1 opponent was a complete bot but it's nothing like the 1UP tards. People are complaining that some total noobs are with keys who ask questions such as 'Where do I build Siege Tank'/''I found out Zealots cant attack air'/'I happened to get a key and decided I'll give it a try' some careless WoW nerds that don't appreciate what they were given, and I fully support people's complaints.

Oh my gosh! Some Chinese guy found a way to enter the BNEt 2.0 game lobby without a key, saying we can watch replays, and if someone uploaded maps, it may be possible even play vs PC! I dont think the instructions are legal but I just tried it and im in the game lobby, it uses some Cache pasting and a file exporting from the MPQ that I do with Magos editor not patches or shit like that.

I just wanted to make sure that ppl pay more attention to things that I post like when saying M3 is obviously the model format and info like that I provide.

You have limited time before it disappears and nope, that's not me posting it, Im human and only human. Yesterday I posted a SS where it shows Magos is useful for such things, it's incredible to use war3 tools.

I don't know if this is okay by the site rules but on www.udmod.com Vindicator(a member) is constantly updating his thread with screenshots from the beta.

If you are interested his thread is here and it features a number of screenshots. Also it may be updated soon because he actually has the beta(Vindicator).

I hope linking to udmod.com is okay since the site is run by a THW member CloudWolf :p

I've played beta at my friend, it's fun as hell, it's simply the old starcraft but with some new units, new missions and better graphics.

How can it be like the old sc? It's completely new, the graphics, it's 3D now, you can scroll at close view like you do in war3, the new trend Blizzard started in SCII and D3 - making chasm, cliffs, valleys, making everything more realistic and with the feeling of more space than just being 3d. You could even say, only few things remain - like the concept of having those buildings and only few units. I don't know some ppl were complaining that this is only a remake of SC1, what else then? From war2 to war3 it's the same.

Here at THW the first people who ever started doing in the new Blizzard fashion with making the maps with more platforms/cliffs/etc to get the feeling of more space are Abriko with his Starcraft campaign (Acathla) and Cloudwolf's D3 Warcraft.
