I was wondering if marijuana was considered offensive content.

Before you get all "its illegal" and "its a drug" read your history, and the cannibus sativa plant was an important resource in colonial America, and remains the number one cash crop.

Promoting the abuse of drugs is likely against the rules. Other than that... I don't see what would be the problem.

Not sure if it was consider as offensive material or not.

However, if it was a discussion on how it effect the society and so on. I do not see anything wrong with it.

i was thinking more or less as a resource in a map. I had an idea for a map where you grow weed, make money, and chase out thee meth and crack dealers. sort of like an RPG where you win by controlling the economy.

i was thinking more or less as a resource in a map. I had an idea for a map where you grow weed, make money, and chase out thee meth and crack dealers. sort of like an RPG where you win by controlling the economy.

I honestly couldn't tell you. I never ran into any maps with drugs in them while I was a map moderator. I did avoid all LoaP maps, so that's probably why. Personally I would be against such a map since it promotes a lot of illegal activity.

It doesn't promote shit. Just because you have something in a game doesn't mean you're promoting it. For example, should we ban call of duty because it promotes killing people? I'd like to say that this is fine because if there is anyone out there who would be offended by a drug reference, I wouldn't want them visiting our site anyways.

exactly, maybe your not a kingpin drug dealer but it might be fun to play one in a video game. And its something different, how many LOAPs and DOTAs do you really need.

I'll spare you my political views, but I would have to protest if this were a problem. If people are influenced by a game, then they have other problems to worrie about. I don't understand how this would be offensive material, to begin with.

I agree with all sensible that's been said in this thread.
A game that features drugs does not promote drugs in any way.
A game where you kill does not promote killing.
A game with whores does not promote prostitution.
A racing game does not promote speeding.

I don't think that the use of drugs in games like GTA means that it could be allowed to show it in Warcraft games, because I had the idea the age rating on GTA isn't 12+.
Still I am against any forms of censory and I dislike age ratings, so I wouldn't really mind to see it in maps. I just don't think it fits with the style of Warcraft, but some people like LoaPs even though I don't...
If you can make a map with nice gameplay I wouldn't be against it, most of the Warcraft maps using those things are silly in a bad and fake way though...

The Netherlands are known for legalized drug use, but I don't know whether that is true. A lot of politicians say they are against it... I doubt whether I can believe them or not...

True, I've seen people get offended over almost every thing you could imagine.
