Hey there, im researching yet another thing now.
Can someone turn this model (default wc3 fel guard) texture path from the normal into.. replaceable?
Just like trees or Stone Giant from Elves have replaceable textures. I don't know how to do that right now. Yes, ingame you have no access to update and the model will be gray-scaled monolith, I just need the skin where whole primary texture file is replaceable. Just like Stone Giant's tree texture.

I mean sure I can just delete ReplaceableId to some number, delete the Path section, an save the file. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt, wrote the software.

EDIT:

The other thing I would do if I were you, is edit the World Editor to add the replaceable ID setting:

When I am loading WoW models natively, this is a very important setting.

So for example Shelly the Elf here is a unit that uses the Creature\HighElf\HighElfFemale_Warrior.mdx model or whatever. And these are MDX files from the leaked alpha WoW so they are in literally MDX format not M2 because it's from back when War3 and WoW had the same format.

So these old MDX files from back then have a ton of the Replaceable ID slots like what you're trying to do, and you have to use them and assign the skin in order to put the model on the unit, so that's why having Unit Editor have a setting for this is very important, IMO.
