Reforged files moved automaticially in the same folder

I just noticed that reforged files were being moved from the c:drive into my e: drive and merged with the 1.26a warcraft 3 version. I find this automatic event very odd. What you think? Did somebody just manually infiltrate my hard disk and moved those files into another location? Game didn't update or anything. Why blizz would suddenly give parameters to merge reforged files with possible w3 old file installation?

I get it right that the both game versions still work and I can play 1.26a but I find it little bit disturbing. I am hyper sensitive with any files being inside my dear 1.26a warcraft III install folder that doesn't belong there.

It's just super spooky, same as when they prevented the use of old version of the warcraft III editor.

Can you specify while files you believe came from Reforged in this way? What you are describing is not a behavior that I was aware of Reforged having. I run 1.26 and Reforged on the same computer, sometimes.

@Retera can write you AI generated novels about Microsoft if you like.
Yes I have a song about Microsoft actually, I'll attach it.

The main chorus of the song is about getting mad at an Activision employee on Discord who said his computer had a log for how much i played 1.26. I told him that's BS and that 1.26 is an offline game until I click the online Battle.net button. He was at the Activision office sitting there looking at the log and he said I'm wrong, and he wasn't going to tell me how.

So I got a network packet analyzer program called Wireshark and realized that when I play 1.26, there were network messages coming out of it from just the menu screen. The main chorus of the song is, "The program is Windows" referring to the idea that it was the Windows operating system itself reporting back to "somewhere" whenever I play patch 1.26

Literally every file from the warcraft 3 folder. =( I believe if i now delete reforged it will auto delete 1.26 aswell. But well anyways it still does work so I wont complain but if blizzard/micro$ out of nowhere deletes 1.26 then i am pissed of and mad.

I didn't find any issue with multiple versions of Warcraft 3. I didn't even played Reforged because of the bugs. Long time ago, I ran both 1.29 and 1.31 on the same computer, and both clients worked without the Reforged auto-update prompt.

In Blizzard App, there's a particular option in which you can choose the place your game is installed (of course, Reforged).

My reforged was in the drive c: for 2 years. I didn't touch any files and week ago or so it was moved& merged automaticially with 1.26 folder.

Huh. I figured you might be looking at a file like blizzard.ax from the old Battle.net system, but that other stuff you pointed out is definitely modern Reforged format stuff. Your Reforged must have identified this folder as the place it wanted to install updates into. If I were you, I would definitely turn that off. It certainly might put your 1.26 installation at risk of being overwritten like you said, even if it has not been overwritten for the time being. My impression is that Reforged generally assumes it owns the folder it is installed into.

As a java coder I have already kept this possible incident in mind. But as I sometimes still turn on reforged I like to keep it installed to. There is no possible way to stop this folder merge happening again.

Sorry for making double post but I make it for the sake of clarify. Now I have taken deep breath, I have way over my past post in my thinking and I would like to say that this all seems to make me pretty sad. It's as if reforged were some kind of destruction aimed to destroy everything that was beautiful in the old warcraft.

In this type of situations it's barely handy to make anything pre-emptively to save my 1.26 files. I must let blizzard/microsoft do the first attack into my pc files and warcraft and then for me to do whatever can afterwards.

I must let blizzard/microsoft do the first attack into my pc files
To avoid this I have been using a computer operating system from here: List of Free GNU/Linux Distributions - GNU Project - Free Software Foundation

In this way, I do not "let blizzard/microsoft do the first attack into my pc files" in the manner you describe.

My computer has the Warcraft III Patch 1.22 from before Activision merger on here. It's very nice.

I also have the Reforge folder with the Reforge, but it is in Documents not Games, since this is a document for inspecting the state, and not a program for actually running:

Sounds cool but I am self-proclaimed "autist" who just want to do everything in the same manner than past 20 years. Like working ALL the files and old games with maxium compability...

And there's actually change microsoft/blizzard wont attack my pc, it's up to them to do the choise.

I tried Ubunty but it had some issues definitely, but if they will delete my win10 or make it unusable after it gets end-dated I will definitely keep that os as an option. Because I simply didn't like the issues win11 had with user being able to freely do whatever it wants.

Hmm. For your self-proclaimed way, to want to do everything in the same manner than past 20 years, what is the reason that you are not using Windows XP then? It is a great platform for Warcraft III from what I can remember.
I can't say more because this is public internet and game industry is constantly monitoring and seeking ways to monetize honest happines and passion. If I say I like this game they will definitely monetize and remake it to ruin my fun propably of it.
