What does this mean?

"Recalculate the normals and get rid of the blue stuff from the texture/the unwrap."

I get the part about get rid of the blue stuff from the texture...but what does "recalculate the normals" mean?

This messege was sent to me regarding a scimitar model i submited to the hive.

I'm not sure if this is right, but I think it's done like this:

1. Convert your model to .mdl
2. Open the .mdl file in Oinkerwinkle's Vertex Modify
3. Select all Vertices (Ctrl+A)
4. Go to Tools -> Recalculate Normals
(I'm not sure, but maybe you must do it with every single Geoset)
5. Save and convert back to .mdx
