Our country is going to hell in a hog cart as it is, with the economy and all. If we lose that war in Iraq, we will be very tightly screwed into a deep hole like a cork on a champagne bottle. Pain in the ass to get it out, and most likely, you will get hit in the face by it when you try it.

Not really... The radical terrorists are wacked. And they would rather kill civilians for religious reasons rather than doing other things.

I remember when my nation was ruled by Japan. 1940s I think. My country was pure Roman Catholic.

The Americans retreated from my country and the Japanese, thinking that they should make other people praise Japan and their culture, started occupying her.

The Japanese started killing many of us for one reason... We didn't reject our faith.

Of course this was years ago, so don't go thinking that I endured this.

See, what if Al-Queda had control of their place? Or worse, a part of America?

Many innocent people will die because of their beliefs.

Many radicals are dying because they started shooting at the troops.

I suck at making essays... Even posts...

One big fail in your argument: one thing is defend your contry, another one is attack a country. I never said that USA shouldn't chase terrorists within their territory.

Define victory then.
For me, victory means when there is no enemies left to slay, because they are dead, they have surrended or they are not capable of fighting, and thus I don't see the conflict in Irak as a victory for the USA or any other faction.

You're wrong.

We won the war.

The occupation might not work out though.

War of Iraq objectives:

[X] Capture Saddam
[ ] Capture Osama Bin Laden
[ ] Find Iraquian MDW
[ ] Destroy Al-Qaeda
[ ] Stabilish peace on the region

If the objectives couldnt be completed in all those years, why do yo belive they will in the future?
US lost this war exactly like in Vietnan

Iraquian MDW?

Don't you mean Iraqi MDW?

Also, there are wars that took years. Why back out now? It's not like we are losing... They're just damn pussies.

I believe nuking is a lot more harsh then electing reasonable, decent dictators to rule these countries. If we could resume the situation prior to '911' without Al Qaeda as a factor, the world will be a much better place.
Electing a Dictator? now thats something new, when did they come up with that? :p

anyhow, there isnt a valid reason for staying there anyway.

Stabilizing the country? That would just cause unrest with the population(if we go by the "lets choose some people to lead the country" or the "we'll stay here until you are behaving well" becouse that could take a while)

Preventing Al-Qaeda in some way? Are there any sources that the main "population" of the terrorist group known as Al-Qaeda is stationed in Iraq?

Preventing future 911-like events? Well, then this is not the right idea. Staying there longer = Creating more unrest

Oh, and one of the reasons for the current economy crisis is this war. Like many people has said before.

War costs Money

Ideologies don't die. I mean, it's not as if we can't consider world war 2 as won because there are still neo-nazi's and negationists...

Anyway, The USA won the battle (in Iraq), but they didn't win the war (against terrorism and religious extremism). In fact, Al qaeda would've never been as large as it is now without the invasion of Iraq. In fact, Al qaeda wouldn't even BE in Iraq without the USA invading it.
You could call the invasion of Afghanistan some form of self defence, but the invasion of Afghanistan is pretty random if you ask me. Oh well, unless you blame Afghanistan for accepting all those guns Americans gave them back in the days, unless you blame Afghanistan for not constructing any WMD's, unless you blame Afghanistan for being an oil producing country in the middle east. Sure, Bin Laden was a dictator, but it's not as if things look better now.
