Well, personaly I think, that if you want someone to help you, you should at least try to explain your problem properly.. I don't know if this helps, but I think I know what problem 1 and problem 3 is for you...

To solve problem !!1!!, take a look at the picture i atached. When you click on the "Affect Pivot Only" Button, move your GIZMO around to see the effect..

To solve problem !!3!! I believe you NEED to hold: ALT+MWHEEL and move around your mouse. Also you can zoom quite nicely when you hold ALT+CTRL+MWHEEL (or just MSCROLL, but there is a difference), also you can pan around with if you HOLD your MWHEEL... Other usefull hotkeys are W,E,R,M.. Hope this helps. If it didn't, you should explain your problem better.

Bah, personally i understood perfectly fine.

To make the origin centered on your object again, you do as above post displayed, and if you want, you can, after selecting "affect pivot only", press the "center to object" button.

For image reference, just make some planes instead and wrap your reference onto that. Much easier to match them up then if you have like, a side and front reference. To see it in the side/front/top perspectice though, you need to change view setting from "wireframe" to "smooth + highlight" in the corner of the window.

If you insist on using the "viewport background" option, i know there is a way to increase resolution, although i forgot how. However, in the viewport background screen, make sure to ckeck "match bitmap" and then "lock zoom/pan". That way you get the right dimensions and the image will not follow your screen as you pan around on it.
