Check out the new hot-hot clan signature,
All clan members are going to get one. You'll have to earn an animated picture, though
There were transparency issues with the GIF, thats why there is a frame around the image, ill try to remove it in the later versions
The file is 124 kb, non animated picture that we used before was 94 kb (46 in giff), to animate the picture, i fused it with an animated giff (ive imported many new giffs on google docs). this way the photoshop image has 46 layers, displaying each one every 0.1 seconds

Finaly got the image working, urs is 50 kb

I read through the thread, and I know you probably haven't set up how the game could be made for each player's role, but I came up with some for the drug lord and a possible black market if you wanted. :p

The drug lord player and minions (if any) could take drugs to meeting places across the city to get money. Basically, a black market that will provide the police with something to take down. The black market meetings can pop into existance in different parts of the city, giving certain members affiliated with it, a letter of invitation, etc. The police and any military players don't get it. Black Market offers more exotic items and weapons, and will shut down when police units are detected, though they can sneak in if they go undercover. :p

At various meeting places across the city, and even the black market, the ddrug lord player could sell his "wares" to make money for his business. So, he then has a way of making money, while evading cops and military.

Just an idea to give the drug lord player something to do :p I don't think I'm joining the project, due to a busy schedule (erratic D:) but I could at least donate a few idea. :p

Also, to make the drug lord's job a bit riskier, you could have a time limit for the drug deals, and even a bit of conversation of sorts during the deal, so it isn't an instant achievement. If cops arrive, they run off with or without their money of drugs. Forces the player to play strategically. Nearby drug lord units and cops fighting it out, the buyers flee in the opposite direction, or down the street, away from the cops, and disappear.

To Tyle: i like this new guy, Hero_Lief . I'm gona wait till he he posts all his qualification submissions, but it looks good so far. Thinking about making him "the right hand". What do you think

Hmm, I've neither talked to him, nor seen any of his qualification submissions. But if they turn out to be good, we should definitely consider promoting him to that. But I wonder, how many members are we going to have? Not that we have too many now, but with all these ranks we will end up with 10+ very active members (not including "useful" and "general" members.)

varsaigen, those are very good ideas, we'll look into it. And yes, we do have different roles and jobs planned out. Just not uploaded to the site yet.
Tyle, we could have 40 active members 2day, but how about in a year. We'll try to harvest as much members as we can now, and filter those overtime.
Untill now, except you and Hero_Lief , everyone has been useless

We need an option for multiple designers to work on the site, not just you.
I can afford to get an account on BlueHost for a year. Its something to consider, look into it, it has integrated WordPress, e-shops, blogs, sub domains and many more

BlueHost seems to be good. Would definitely make things easier.

Just a warning that I'm having computer troubles. I can promise a Chief story, as I can do that on school computers, but as for the image/code, I've gotta get my own working.

In clan LOAT we are not interested in excuses. For what it takes, you might use the web browser from PS3, just get it all done by monday

I just thought of posting something here, a couple of ideas I had for a game of this type and such, but then I saw this post of yours and thought:"I'm not going to support someone with that kind of an atititude." :S
Anyway, I wish you luck for this project nonetheless.

We also don't use ideas from SofTees who are so in touch with their feelings that they get offended by any kind of discipline. Cry me a river, i think we will survive without ur post

No need to flame me. You seem to have misunderstood two things here:

a) What you said to Hero_Lief was plain arrogant, nothing more. You're not his boss, so you can't order him around, it's as simple as that (apart from throwing out all the people that don't adhere to your personal dream schedule). But this is your project and if your idea of "discipline" is behaving like you did, just go on with it.

b) I was not even involved in this whole matter, I don't take your reply personally.

I am not going to post any more replies in this thread, so as to avoid this turning into a flame-war, what I posted was merely meant as a hint that
you might want to reconsider your tone of voice.

Yeah Foo, just move along.
If you are trying to learn me a life lesson or something, you are in the wrong place.
We are not making a starcraft buddy list here, just searching for members who can deliver decent work on the project.
I rather work with 3 people and get the work done, than 100 members and 50 unreleased projects.
Call it harsh, call it arrogant, but if he cant deliver on a simple qualification task for wotever reason, there are plenty of other projects going around. This is how it works in real world.

As for your preaching attitude Foo, just move along, you have no business in this thread. But altleast you figured that out on ur own

Question. How am I supposed to design a Warcraft III scenario and create an image in a web browser? Until I get my iPad, that's computer-limited.

Yes, this is interesting. What is your map about?
Hero_Lief, this is what i'm talking about. It's been 2 weeks and you didnt submit anything. Anything.... Not even a background story on the police chief, that you could of done on any computer.
[Members who are not there for the clan] = [No Clan members]
Hero_Lief, you are no longer a part of the crew

Well, even if I'm not a part of the team, I'm still going to write a bio for him, since I told you all that I would.
I finally got my computer working again.

EDIT: Seeing as I'm not longer a part of the Docs group, I've emailed the file to you.

Hmm, Starcraft 2 will be pretty awesome for making a LoaP map, however as much fun as I could have aiding the project it feels counterproductive to try to feel hyped up for 3 months when we don't even have access to an editor.

Anyhow what I'd recommend you do during these months is to try to write a gameplay document.

The game basically concise of 3 factions (Police, Maffia and Drugdealer) who are playing an RTS'ish game against eachother while the rest of the players mostly just RP.

The RTS aspect has in the WC3 version not been terribly meaningful, the mafia just puts a guy on patrol inside the bank for unlimited money, the Drugdealer asks people nicely to send him money and if I remember correctly the police don't even use money and neither of them had any non-rp reason to actually fight eachother.

An interesting mechanic to use in a Starcraft 2 version would be to divide the city into city blocks, and have each faction gain income based on the number of blocks they control (Protection Money, Drug selling/city budget respectively for each faction), that way they'd all have a meaningful income aswell as a reason to fight eachother for control of the city.

The citizens would have the option to either join one of the factions, or try to make his living independently doing the standard loap income mini-games.
