problem loading map

This is the problem: I downloaded lots of maps, but I can only play less than half of them. When I open them, it return me to the chosing map screen.
This happened with some of the most downloaded maps of this site, maps that the most of ppl said it works, so I think I need a patch or something.
What can I do?

The 1.24 patch broke a lot of maps in Wc3 as some hackers had found a way to add viruses to certain maps through the trigger editor.

Just download a Warcraft III version switcher when you want to play the maps you can't play.

Please report the maps, they should probably be rejected until the author updates them.

I actually find myself in the same situation, but not exactly. Some maps i download here don't even show up in the game whatsoever. I have no idea what the problem is, as up until yesterday every map i dled worked fine.

I also can't play Acathla's Star Craft campaign, cause whenever i try to play a level, the screen fades out and nothing happens, just the sounds of the Ship firing...

Ok I see your problems I will try and give you ways around it.

How to fix your problem if the map does not show up in your game:

1. The Map name is way too long, just go to wherever you downloaded the map and shorten its name, the full thing will still appear in game so it doesn't matter what you call it.

2. If that fails then try a different version of Warcraft.

3. If all that fails then the map is broken and you should report it or try and contact the owner.

If you can not see a campaign:

1. You have to download the map to the custom campaign area of warcraft to even be able to do anything in it.

2. If you still can't play it, try a different version of warcraft later or earlier depending on your patch

3. If all that fails report the map or try and contact the owner.

If the map will not open in your patch try this:

1. If you have 1.24c patch, some 1.23 and under maps will not work in 1.24c patch and you need to downgrade.
If you don't have 1.24c patch and the map does not work try getting the 1.24c patch.

2. If that fails then the map probably doesn't work and try and contact the owner or report the map.

Tips:
I use 1.24c warcraft for maps over 4mb! and use 1.20e (Which can be downloaded off the internet a no cd patch) and all the maps that don't work in 1.24c I chuck into 1.20e and they all work.

Having two versions of warcraft seems to be the go if you still like the old maps and new maps.

Glad you liked it, Hmm with your campaign issue can you tell me what campaign it is and where you got it from please?

Also did you try a different version for example try 1.20e warcraft and 1.24c warcraft if the campaign does not work in both versions it is probably broken.

Try downloading this http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/maps-564/soldiers-generals-1-11-a-133682/?prev=extension%3Dw3n and if that does not work in 1.24c than you are either doing something wrong with the downloading/placing into warcraft or your warcraft is playing up. But if you can get that campaign to work and not the other one, that means the other one is broken.

If you can get the campaign I told you to download to work, then the other campaign is broken and you should either report it as being broken to HiveWorkShop or try and contact the campaign creator.

The Campaign is Starcraft Acathla.

I just recently Downloaded it from War3Campaigns...


I've also DLed the Tournament Cinematic series, and Thievery, both work, as do all of the other campaigns i have... it' the first time i've encountered this problem.
