My first attempt at terraining for an ORPG map.

This looks oddly enough as too close together. Now I can get that forest can be dense and all that but not like this.

Also try giving us a wider shot of your scene. Right now it looks too clean to be natural.

Try playing around with foliage and various rocks fitted with vines and moss for integration.

The water needs a darker tint. It is bright af atm and it gives the impression of artificiality. Do not forget to play around with various fog values to see what suits the scenery best.

Okay @Heinvers I will keep in mind those suggestions. I haven't really finished terraining the area around the pond, so I cropped out the WIP areas. Here is the full view:

What do you mean by too dense? I agree that the amount of trees may be too high, i could try to spread them out more but I haven't found a result that I liked yet. I'll keep playing around with the trees more in the future.

Do you have any recommendations for moss models? Been looking for that to put on the rocks, but can't seem to find any.

@Chaosy
Water should be better as per Heinver's suggestion. I uploaded the wider view, so you can see the intended pathable areas now. I had intended for this area to be a miniboss area, that you encounter after climbing the hill. So the area around the pond does not need that much room for movement.

And sure, I don't mind sharing. The plants/trees are from Talajav's S&S Modular Shire, and the rocks are from here.

The terrain tiles are a combination of tiles found in tobyfat's maps and Nan0's Demon Haven, as well as some of my own textures that I edited to use with the Ubersplat Terrain System.
