Nex Hero Defense v1.3

Description

Nex Hero Defense



Introduction


... is a Hero Defense map (as you probably noticed already :plol:) that requires
teamwork and some intellect. Hmm... you're probably wondering
- Why should I play your map? and my answer to that is:
because of it's unique Team Style Gameplay which you will
meet while playing. An example is the absence of autorevival system and
the addition of special Resurrecting abilities, which makes players depend one on another.

Combination of Fun & Difficulty is also an interesting aspect
of the map. Funny waves and abilities can be found, but harmonically linked to
a balanced difficulty.

Realistic Equipment, meaning that close-combat
heroes can only use close-combat weapons and only one armor e.t.c.

As the time passes playing, your character changes and gains improved
abilities, the so called Class Change.When you reach a certain level
you choose the class that suits you best and reset back to level one.

If you get bored, that means you've selected the wrong class/skills.
This map is basically a fast-paced Hero Defense that through the
correct selection of skills can be less intense. So You Can Choose
if you want to be jumpy all the time or sit back while your hero
does everything by himself. Of course, skills that require
the player's interaction are more effective than passive ones.

Spawn System


I based my system on the Multiple Creep Spawn System tutorial and modified it
into a Simple Creep Spawn System. The tutorial referred here is made by DoOs_101.


Item Customization System


When you buy an item with [Empty Slots] then you can customize your item with Orbs
and add attributes of your likeness. You can also add 2 Orbs (to the items that have at least 2 Empty Slots) of the Same type to get an increased bonus for that attribute.
Got ideas from here and there but I basically did it on my own, seemed much simpler.


Item Drop System


Each Creep that dies gives a 5% chance to drop an item. That item could be one of the following (With priority order Rare to Common):
  • Belt (LVL 2 Armor) [1%]
  • Robe (LVL 1 Armor) [4%]
  • Reincarnation [5%]
  • Lumber [5%]
  • Escape [5%]
  • Greater Potion of Mana [5%]
  • Greater Potion of Health [8%]
  • Antidote [12%]
  • Potion of Mana [15%]
  • Potion of Health [20%]
  • Stone [20%]

Some of these items can also have random Charges, more common means chance for more charges.

Game Tips


Within a team there should be at least one of each starting Class (Warrior, Archer, Mage) for best performance,
but besides that Warrior is the best Class and easiest to play. On the contrary, Mages are pretty hard to play
'cause of their almost none attack damage and "friendly-fire" spells, but all that hard work pays up in the end.

In this map you do NOT revive automatically (with exception the Living Statue's Spell, with 10 minutes cooldown), instead a grave is spawned at the point you died.
That grave points out a hope of resurrection either by a Healer, or by the Living Statue (Base Structure).

I made the map to be easier when playing with more players, so don't be so impatient!

hi dude :grin: 3 days ago i played your map (last version) on garena,some guy host it.... That was 1 time that i play your map ...,i play about 20 min and creeps just stop to spawn,i dont now whay but they stop coming,maybe that hapens 1 time in 1000 games,but.....We wait about 5 min and nothing hapen,so we destroy gate,enter ''evil city'' and destroy enemy main building and win very easy :cool: Map is cool but wtf....

Do you remembe at which wave this happened? Were you killing at the enemy Spawning place? Any other information that could help me?

Good point on the upgrade attack speed and the specialty message was what i meant it my other post.

Also i have 1 more suggestion:

Make the little carrier guys upgrade with the heros as in replace them with little version of the heros like how ranger starts with little ranger make upgraded ranger (forgot name...) have a little upgraded ranger.

- I don't think that'll look good, 'cause at Classes 2 and 3 the Heroes have a "Hero Glow" that wouldn't look good for a shopper. Although the shoppers look kinda weird, noT?

Man you have serious leaks in creep spawning,today i test 3-4 times your map alone and i use chit becouse i cant test alone...I use "whosyourdaddy'' cheat, i enter spawning place and start killing creeps while they spawning,in wave with Gargoyle they stop spawning,also when i rmk they stop spawning in other waves,i think that problem can be if players kill creeps while they spawning or maybe if they kill creeps very fast...Spawning place have defense but few players can enter and kill creeps and "GAME OVER"! If i help you pls give me REP :cool:

i played alone and i was samurai
but playing alone is a bit lame^^
but still... if you play alone you are level 10 in the first 2 rounds

I believe changing the hero and the shopper will be too much for a player, especially for a new one. Although, even if there is no graphical change, the special ability of each shopper is increased by class advancement. If you have something more specific in mind let me know, Thank you!

Hmmmm... well how about for each time they level up the hero class give the little shopper a special ability like:

First level up: Roar (or something similar)
Second level up: Cure (as in cures a debuff such as slow/poison)
Third level up: Replace short ranged blink with map wide blink

You get were im going with this youdont have to use those exact abilities but just something in that manner the wont be game breaking but yet will be very helpful.

You can't win alone (without cheats), or can you?

you can... the only bad thing are the rippers who kill you instantly
but samurai got copies and in shop there is the illusion powerup
so you got 3 copies and kill the rippers while they got attack cooldown
oh and one suggestion some armor for mages what increases int/mana would be nice because well... as healer you get some problems to heal everyone because of permanent lack of mana if you skill "cure"


EDIT: forgot to tell... the samurai can get up to 20k dmg without problems... and + Ulti is about 50% bonus
dmg what means 30k dmg...
you should nerve him a bit...
and even if the healer got income... its too less to buy potions forever

- Yeah I get you, but I thought of the same thing before adding 1 ability. The problem is that then you would keep your shopper in front line to support you and won't have him back at the city where he belongs buying things and return.

- Although, I will replace the invisibillity from Mage's Shopper with your "Cure"! Thanks dude & +REP!

- The staff's seemed to help me every time I picked a Healer, but also I don't auto-heal all the time, but I select which ally to heal according to how critical the situation is.

to make it really funny you should increase the damage of the boss and give more armor
so mana would be needed
because if you got no mana you can just stay around and watch your hero while he kills the boss

Change sound set for quick and magic shopper,they are female but have male sound set :grin:Also if you want you can add 1 recipe shop with name like "legendary items"..,and few unique wepons and armor recipes... You have 1 leak,archer can blink over gate and enter "evil city'', add some line of sight blockers,and then he cant....If i help you give me REP :spell_breaker:

- I'm sorry but I'm inactive at making the map (Real Life Issues & PC Problems). Tommorow I'm receiving my New! PC, a real piece of art, so from tommorow & on I will use the gathered information combined with my plans to make the next version!:cool:

- It is normal to loose mana, the Final Boss nullifies your mana. That's only one (the final) wave, so it's not so hard to wait. By increasing the damage and armor doesn't give anything special to the Boss like to the first one. Although, if it's so irritating I might create an accessory that prevents that from happening, but with a high cost of gold. Would that be OK?

- Actually I have replaced the "Agility" with "Attack", so it's correct because 1 Attack(Agility) gives you 10 Damage. But I might change the description to say how much Damage it increases to avoid confusion.

- I'll look into the sounds.

Also if you want you can add 1 recipe shop with name like "legendary items"..,and few unique wepons and armor recipes... You have 1 leak,archer can blink over gate and enter "evil city'', add some line of sight blockers,and then he cant....If i help you give me REP :spell_breaker:
- "Legendary items", "Unique Weapons/Armors", "Recipes", they all exist and I don't like copying another Map Maker. If I want recipes I can always play DotA, but what I want is Customizable items.

It is normal to loose mana, the Final Boss nullifies your mana. That's only one (the final) wave, so it's not so hard to wait. By increasing the damage and armor doesn't give anything special to the Boss like to the first one. Although, if it's so irritating I might create an accessory that prevents that from happening, but with a high cost of gold. Would that be OK?

sure it would be okay... but how about more levels too then?
by the way... did you know you can change the percentages of the damages on every type of armor? why dont you give the last boss divine armor and set the damage types percentages to 50% or something like that

- That's a fine idea, but he doesn't need more armor 'cause you can't use spells. So the only way to kill him is attacking and if he's got high armor it would be near impossible.

One of my fav Maps atm. :D
But there r still some bugs/improvements :p

First of all, as an archer u cant use the first bow in shop (+500 dmg) -> says "only archer can war a bow"
In one Wave there r a lot of Zombies with 150 armour, u should decrease this, they r so fcking strong and the following mobs r too easy again ^^
The Res Ability of the Main Building should have a lesser cooldown. 5 min is too much, when u have just 1 or no Cleric in ur team. Or Change it to mass resurection :)
All in All the waves r unbalanced. Some r too difficult and some r too easy O:

But I love the Map. Cant stop playing it on Bnet <3

well the people i played with the last time i killed the boss... they said too its was boring because we couldnt use spells
ok we couldn't die because of samurai + tank and me as cleric (cant die because of auto-life) samurai did the damage tank just attacked too... like i said...
set armor type to divine set the percentages of damage for each damage type and then you are finished
then you can readd mana then maybe give the boss some skill to spawn minions who deal some damage too(but dont give gold) so it would be more interesting

i had started working on a rpg (never finished because of some trigger problems) and i made 3 bosses who are really hard (not able to kill alone... neither with high power equip) and they are using skills when they are ready...(i think it was normal if you give him spells and activate them for him ^^) but this is a different story...

i can give you some tips on making nice bosses if you have no clue what bosses you could do

well lowering the power would be nice
but
you can do some magic immune levels like the giants (lost once as elementalist)
:sad::sad:

well good luck at improving... its exciting to wait for newer versions^^
and playing them alone^^:xxd::grin:

oh btw
i just remember the heroes...
you placed the heroes in the city(maybe for players to look how much dmg and hp they got on high level) but the stats arent correct
i had spartan on level 58 and got more attack than the spartan on lvl 100 who is placed...
its a bit irritating if you cant see the true stats
is there something that modifies the stats?

well sometimes WEU is nice because it can avoid the limits(not all but most)
it wouldn't damage the map and sometimes if you are using special triggers what are only supported by WEU//UMSWE the normal WE cant open it anymore
so its a little protection against idiots who are editing the map for nothing than improving their damn gameplay^^

i suggest WEU because i used it myself without any problems
maybe sometimes it could cause errors but these arent that bad

1. Not Bug, I recommend "Warrior" class.

2. It does give +% attack damage. You're saying that it's not working because it doesn't show the bonus nor a critical? If Bushido didn't work then Samurai wouldn't be so damn imba ^^

3. I have no idea what to place that'll match all the 3 shoppers. (That icon is better than a peon anyway)

well... if you never watched on the life of the creeps you should do it in a game alone
lets take a "Dead Guy"(those zombies for the ones who dont know it)

once you skilled bushido the animation of the samurai is always the same... it looks like you are doing criticals... always! including to this... once skilled bushido you are doing heavy damage... 50% is really immense damage bonus
i made 30k dmg as level 81 samurai + 24k weapon and bushido lvl 3
well... i lost against rippers because of some minor problem *grin*

- It's a skill, really simple actually. I've used the "Execution" from that skill too.

i dont reach my old rpg anymore so i cant work on it anymore...
all my work lost...
i hate it xD
always had problems with triggers or had no idea for some skills... and now everything lost
