Then +rep stat is not very immportant, unless minus -rep that means that a person disobey the rules...
Then the main stat for lettin into chat should be about 60-100 posts and no -rep.

Yeah. I think so too.

Guys with negativ rep showed that they do not accept the rules and should first do something positive to get real rep.

But in my opinion 50 posts are already enough.
I don't believe you can get 50 posts just by spamming crap (without getting neg repped :D)

The whole idea is good...But look on the bad side of this. If people are having trouble in maps, they join the chat. That means we should get a Beginners chat, and a main chat. Main chat accessible for those who have 1+++ rep, and 20 posts. If someone gets kicked, -1 rep. If he's banned for a short while, remove rep equal to the days he was banned for, with maximum of 5.

First Page: "Yay this is awesome!"

Second Page: "Boo this sucks!"

Third Page?

Anyway, I really don't think we should make a VIPish chat. Mostly because if someone comes back as a different account, you can just ban him...But, anyway!

I can just see the hordes of noobs lording over other noobs because "I have more rep than you! I can enter chat! H4r h4r h4r..."

I'd rather not give meaning to rep or post count considering as how both in reality just indicate that you have no life. Rep isn't reputation. And Post count isn't either.

So, It's probably fine like it is.

I think chat is fine as is.

After all its just a chat, people can solve their problems/chat/have fun there.

What's the difference between a user with 250 rep and one with 1 rep?
Because someone doesn't have a big amount of rep it doesn't mean he "sucks".

I would say not to change anything, spammers/trolls/flamers should get 1 warning and then if they ignore it and continue this behaviour then they should be banned from chat.

Limiting chatting to only certain people is a terrible idea. One hugely useful thing about chat is that it allows people (often new people) to get advice or help really quickly then waiting in the help section of the forums. Limiting people allowed in by rep or post may (well for one thing make Rep seem more then what it actually is, its just for fun, leave it at that) stop people from getting on chat from multi accounts, but it would prevent people from getting help and making themselves known to other people - and probably piss more people off by making THW seem even more elitist then it already is.

I like the idea of different channels alot.
So people that enter the chat for requesting help or searching for project members or something are seen in the right channels and might get an answer.
Because many question are just ignored or not seen at the moment.
The other way round, requests and things like that wouldn't interrupt the chat in the main channel.

But the problem about all that is, that there would be a need of some more chat moderators for the different channels, I guess, because it would hardly be possible for a single person to control all channels.

Read briefly through everything, and believe it's a horrible idea. If we're going to limit users on chat, might as well limit users on the forum. Having different channels isn't necessary, as the current chat constantly changes topic, regardless. The current chat is perfectly fine, if there's issues, the chat moderators take care of it. Simple as that.
