Just out of curiosity, when you are making a map, do you ever have problems naming people? Like heroes (If it is an RPG) 'Couse i know i do, sometimes it can take me forever just to make something up, lately I've been resorting to this book. '501 Things to name your pet' Is this one of your problems too, or am i just not very creative?

If you're making a dwarf character, google dwarf names. There's sites dedicated to this kinda shit.

Meh, just mix up random shit with your character's traits and words such as blood, war, kill, shadow, light, slash, sword, stab, slice, fang etc.

Examples:

Thurthog Bloodaxe

Morrin Shadowstab

Lunata Grenthclaw

Or you can just shamelessly rip off names if the creativity section is out of order. Even though it doesn't really take creativity to come up with random words.

If it's a female character think back to the last woman who's hit on you...
For the hell of it I'm going to say Tucker's Mom.

Now time to manipulate the name!

Alright... then I would have to change up the letters a little bit to make it 'unique'.
Ucker's Tom? No. Ucker Om? No. Mocker Mot? Yeah!

Or for a guy I would do the last guy that I've given a man-five!

So... Jordan Gary'll do.

Jordan Gary not original enough?

How about Lodan 'Ari? No. Danjor Gyra? No. Hairy Gary? Hell Yeah!

If it's a character based on the real world, I would take probable names for someone of his background.

If it's a character based on a fictional world, I do whatever sounds right.

In either case, in the likely scenario that I just can't think of a name, I use a generator.
