I had no time at all due to the ending of my schoolyear with lots of work I had to finish. This is what I said when I wanted to judge that I had time till June, because June would be a very busy month for me. It took people very late to post everything on time, so I had to let you guys wait till this busy time is over.
Anyways. I'll see what I can do this week! I didn't forget you all, I just had no time at all.

I'm going to hold you guys to this deadline, I want the judging by the end of the week
If I don't get it from one or the other then I'm closing it with just 1 judging

Also we should have this thing next time: A judging timeline. If the judeges don't present they're comments by the end then some other judges will be elected.

The amount of voters decreases with each new music contest. Pretty sad. Went from 90+ in the first one to only 20+ in this one. Perhaps the theme was a bit odd. Who knows?

The whole thing was just really disorganized this time, and that might've effected the voting outcome too since it was so all over the place that people either didn't know or didn't feel any reason to.

It was pretty weird at the poll, that while some entries had 3-4, maybe 5 votes, most of them got 0. I don't think they were that bad. (I'm a bit partial because my entry was one of these too )

So, the small amount of voters is never good.

I'd say your better off asking someone around the Hive to judge instead because these two don't seem to be capable of getting it done.

Thing is, the other people who know enough music theory to judge this sort of thing participated, and you can't have someone who participated judging.

Hmm. I've judged and written critiques of all the entries based on the judging criteria. Of course, I, like everyone else who participated, would like to see what the judges thought of my entry, and how their opinions affect the standings, but, if you're desperate, I propose this solution:

I will give my judging on the condition that I am awarded the place I would have gotten if we had just stuck to the results of the poll (2nd place.) If you want, I could post my critiques here, or PM them to whoever wants/needs to see them.

Since I have technically not placed second or higher in a previous contest, you can use my piece for this one as something to show my qualification.

Otherwise, I would say just stick to the results of the poll and be done with it.

Those poll results aren't really all that conclusive, only one piece even got enough to be called a majority.

I'd like to have some judging to equalize this out because at the moment it seems a bit unfair.

Either we find new judges or enclose this with no or tie results (maybe everyone could get 5 points but that wouldn't really matter). It will not be in vain. Creating a piece is an experience. I don't fancy the martyr type idea.

Then why did you say it was unfair if JFI would withdraw to judge if he had 'an experience' when creating his entry? If he's willing to give up his participation to judge, so others can get a good review and placing, he has my respect.
Saying that because somebody will have to withdraw, everybody has to start their work anew would be pretty... not smart to say it lightly. Besides, if all of the entries were to be neglected, I don't think there will be a whole lot entries left in the 'remake' of the contest. That aside, I don't think there will be much change in the situation with who is to judge. Let's say JFI will still judge, then everybody will have to make a new entry and he will still not be able to participate. Please don't tell me that was your grand idea.

If you're saying that you are going to judge, I'm afraid I got to say I don't like the idea of that. There have to be certain qualifications for a judge and I'm not sure you got them. No offense intended. I just think we could best leave the judging to JFI, since he's somewhat more seasoned. It would save a lot of discussions about the results of the judge's reviews. That's just my view at this in case you meant it like that.

I'd really like to have more contests in the future. But if the judges can't be arsed to do their job, I don't know if there's any point of doing this.

JFI, I was actually thinking of doing the exact same thing. I just wanted to start a new contest and didn't care for the result.
