Moonlight Temple

The map was made during the course of three months for the XGM-held terrain duel against oGre_ (whom I'm grateful for a number of things he done for it).

It's a great collection of bad and good examples of what should and what __very carefully__ should be included in you maps -- I was so distracted with the input of detail that I completely neglected the lag, which now cripples other machines. If your mother plate burned down - I warned you. Lesson №1 -- don't put 25k props in 64*64 map.

The terrain firstly demonstrates the wide variety of what can be done with Arcs (cityscape decorations) and how to achieve realistic waterfalls. On second plane, it's a great example of ever-eluding atmosphere and just a ground for advanced terrainers to think upon.

Comment: Very pretty environment, really atmospheric and it does fit the title.
However the map is really small and there are too many doodads crammed into it, making it lag terribly, thus making not usable for playable maps, but maybe for very short cinematics.

If it's a demonstration of terraining, you should put some screenshots of the best features of the map.

OH MY GOD.

this is just awesome. im lucky that i have an high-end-pc... no lags for me... but this terrain is so detailed and wonderful... best terrain map ever.

1000/5

how long did it take to create this?
do you want to be my terrainer for my last campaign? :D

For map 64x64 isn't good to have over 24.000 doodads!
First of all your terrain can only be used in cinematic, but with 24k doodads it will have terrible lag.
Also as MortAr- said stones are place bad (Some are not) but you can resize some of them and replece 10 with only 1, You used 2 many grass (9000 grass doodads)

Terrain looks nice but can't be used as template!

well, the tiny but mighty difference is, that the legendary terrain are only screens, but this is a whole map. you would understand my point of view if you can drive through this map without lags like me.

dude - good terrain

Dont let you get down - I love it - As far as I hate most templates, I must say - you did a great job here

5/5 - no reason to give anything else

Ive been also terraining much - but im more focused on playable terrain (meelemaps)
But I think you showed me some cool techniques - its a good inspiration

how did you make so much dodads in so a small map? i can't make no more than 8000, please help!

did enyone know how to made more doodads in a map then 8000? i cant but i want it and it is very iritating....
