It would seem a that knockout tournament is just the best way to go as alot of ppl seem to play one game and just give up/loose interest.
A real shame.

Perhaps for the next tourny, simply 2-3 groups of 4 ppl.
The top 2 go through to knockout tourny, this way the intitial loosers of the groups who generally 'vanish' anyways wont ruin the tourny.

I'll try to speak with some others of the hive staff and ask what they think.
I was also thinking of a future rule which would give negative reputation upon leaving the tournament.

so I'll just stick to your suggestion, Fulla.
We will held a knockout tournament for this time.
Next melee tournament includes punishments upon leaving/not showing up in order to stimulate users to play if they sign up.

Its my fault that I sign up for a tourney when I have a computer that runs warcraft 3 perfectly, but then has a periodic habit of crashing, then have to move it to another computer just a week before the tourney begins, which cant run a melee map unless I host it (im unable to host anyways).

My original computer actually used to come on after a while. If my computer dies for no apparent reason, I hardly feel its my fault...

There ain't much player left, and either the value of the reputation award is too high for a few players in a knock out tournament.
