Hi,

I've been saving maps and I've noticed sometimes that when I try to play them, warcraft 3 refuses to let me run them, if I click start it just returns me back to the list of maps. This is odd, because there are no syntax or script errors (I've even resaved the same map, which went from playable to non-playable to playable again). What I had been doing was simply to re-save the map over and over again and eventually warcraft 3 would stop being so fussy.

But I can't do that anymore because I'm releasing a protected version. I used Vexorian's map optimizer v5.0 but the map won't run at all. I just get this when I click on it. What did I do wrong?

Try reinstalling warcraft. I had this same issue along with another issue that didn't let me join battle.net games that didn't go away untill I reinstalled, came back after a year or so and had to reinstall again.

No it's not a patch issue. The issue was the map optimizer had an error and made the map unreadable I guess. I fixed that, but you're saying the other cases are a patch issue? Is it possible I am missing a patch even though it's up to date?
