Hello, I'm trying to make a unit that is able to turn but cannot move. I tried setting the movement speed to 0, but then my cannot turn at all. Help will be appreciated
1) Create a new ability based off Entangling Roots
2) Set duration to 0 for units and heroes, make sure it doesn't show any unneeded graphics, or make the unit take damage, etc
3) Cast it on the unit by an enemy
The unit will be able to turn, but not move. You can make the unit move again, by removing the buff that the entangling roots ability gives it, but if you want to make the unit unmovable again, you have to recast it, obviously.
Oh, I didn't know a duration of 0 will be permanent. I was thinking about the same thing except setting to a duration of over 9000. Thanks again for your help
Be wary that GetUnitDefaultPropWindow() returns a value in radians whereas the Set function is using degrees iirc (but I am not sure about that, you can verify easily though)
Yep, canon tower model has a special bone named "Bone_Turret" which is somehow used by the game to make it rotate while the rest of the model is static.
Umm, no. A movement speed of 1 is the same as 100. Its the slowest you can get. However, setting the movement speed to 1 via triggers will achieve you something different.

There is also one of the root abilities from the night elf ancients: Tower Turning Tutorial
Though I dont know if you can reverse it like entangling roots
