the size from v4.0 to v4.1 is 2kb bigger xD

anyway i think it's about time you add a "Thirst System" guys ;D
but that will sure make the game harder for survival...
since you will now have to eat, drink and sleep...
but i got an idea!! maybe you could make a natural source of clean water...
a good idea is to use the fountain of life as a water provider...
and to make it a bit easier trolls could construct a well providing them with water everyday..
and give an ability to the well and set cast time to 3mins or so and when casting ends it provides aditional water...
that's all i got for now and btw im thinking as hard as i can xD
hope you liked my idea ^.^

Thirst would be a bit too much, Xorkatoss. People are already dying out there :p
Seriously, the game already has more gameplay options than Fallout 3 with Hunger mod... Let's not make it more complicated :p

I have released another minor update, containing a bug fix and some sharpening the edge of Voodoo Revive ;)

The game frequently crashes towards the 20th day for some reason, and nearly an hour of playing wasted. Please minimize the triggers, so there will be less complications in the map. More quests and bosses too! :D

Will there be a manual for the game? It takes too long to play just to explore the item combinations, etc.

I meant the space occupied on the ground, like 4 squares just like a tower. It's just a barell after all and it takes too much space.
Anyway, I tried SNG > Russia RPG Rooms, Europe RPG Rooms, Hamachi ( which is full ) but still, am I missing something? How can I get to play with you guys?

I got it, Jhabull.
But the wood barrels are multipurpose structures. In addition to storage room, they can be used as a wooden wall - not so strong as the stone walls, but storing weapons and supplies.

dartmolx, we're doing our best to fix bugs and errors. Just share your thoughts what may have caused it.
Btw, day 20 is almost 3 hours of game play ;)

xorkatoss, I will maybe shorten the map file name (I was asked for this by the Russian clan) and then I will have space to add additional symbols. Just now it is at the limit :)

About game playing places - I don't know, it is really a problem. I should maybe make a Facebook group to help players find mates for playing...
In the meantime I am working on the Human Intrusion update which would make some aspects of the game more easier and thus - more newbee-friendly, allowing it to become more popular.

bug reports again:

-After becoming Cook lvl 1 only one cooking makes Tasty meat stew, additional ones make normal Meat stew.
-Tasty meat stew is so tasty that merchants do Not want to buy it :)
-The -level command doesnt do anything
-Alligator can be un-Lazied by clicking on Feed icon, even if it doesnt carry anything.

Suggestions:
-Could the Teleport spell (and others probably too) be changed to start cooldowning only after being Succesfully cast? I had 51 mana, casted it, lost some mana, didnt get teleported, slept a bit and had to wait for the cooldown to reset to cast it again.
-How about being able to see the progress of lvl in f.e. cooking, but between the levels?
-Would be cool to be able to ressurect Elder beasts (or at least lvl 3 ones).

And bugreport:
- When creating magic wand, mass heal and hex are swapped, i reported about that, but you fixed only staff
- When trying to pick up other ammo using weapon - you lose all ammo (have sniper gun, trying to pick up chainsaw - can't pick up chainsaw+empty sniper rifle)
- Leather boots doesn't prevent from getting wet in water
- Bones and tinder fall on ground when crafting something, leaving only 1 in slot
- Bugged hawk - sometimes no damage with Q spell and control losing

Suggestion:
- Make a one hit tree cut with chainsaw - it's not fun at all to do 3 hits =/
- After prolonged eating raw meat troll gets accustomed to it: gets some bonuses (like +health or +energy) and won't puke anymore

Can you explain plz, what tactical master perk gives?

Hum, strange... It is ruled by chance (level 1 - 33%). Are you saying it never allows you to cook tasty meat?

Umm, yes, will be removed from Commands. There should be a much more advanced system for gaining info about hero stats and perks, but for now we cannot make it work properly :(

Sorry, cannot. It is Warcraft built-in functionality. But how did it not work? You stopped the casting? If so, you take the decision, you take the consequences.

First of all, the Chainsaw is two-hand weapon, you cannot pick it up along with any other weapon. And are you sure about losing ammo? It sometimes could not be shown properly, until you shoot...

Well, only the Lined clothes give protection from getting wet in the rain and only the lined boots - from the water. I know it isn't quite logical, but these items are supposed to improve the survival, and the hard armors - the combat aspect.

- Bones and tinder fall on ground when crafting something, leaving only 1 in slot
It is strange, I will check that.

- Bugged hawk - sometimes no damage with Q spell and control losing
Are you sure? He cannot damage certain targets (mosquitoes), to others he deals only damage and cannot grab them (units with basic health over certain values). Please tell me what exactly happened.

Suggestion:

Well, some other things already give something like that - the Hunter has two times less chance to vomit or choke by food, and the Heart of the Wolf gives 100% protection from these effects.

Can you explain plz, what tactical master perk gives?
It gives 33% (level 1), 66% (level 2), 100% (level 3) chance to get a useful buff when changing stance. The buff will be Haste, if stance is changed to the aggressive mode, or Regeneration, if stance is changed to the defensive mode.

I uploaded replay, where i'm playing hunter::ogre_hurrhurr:
8:15 - hawk didn't hit rat
11:30 - didn't hit vulture
and always after jump one losing control over hawk, so you need to click on it again

And about chainsaw: it sucks, when you can only cut one tree per charge (that's the time to hit 4 times)

Few more thing: can you make one weapon from dual set drop on click? It could be useful sometimes
And make bone and snakez more clickable (tonns of missclicks)
And I haven't get regenerating buff EVER, haste is nice though

I really don't like the insta revival (soul sell) of dead trolls, there should be some seconds so the killing troll can check items or even run away. Sometimes you'd better run instead of killing 'cause he can revive in a second! What about adding a cast time for sell soul?

Bloody hell, I say this map's the best Warcraft 3 map, plus it got highest rating on glorious hiveworkshop.com and there ain't any GARENA room for it! So hard to find a decent game, even with buddies! GOOD JOB

edit: hmm, unlimited pet for hunter is very imbalanced if the game lasts some days. The only threat would be another hunter! My buddy killed the bear boss without any loss! I think hunter is already overpowered with Hawk and bow, plus a couple of pets at start; unlimited is just ridiculous.

edit 2: the map is great, after all your work; save your time and focus on publicity ^^ we need players

You should make that Totem, Demonic Stone and Dream Catcher also affect Rotten Beasts because crafting Dream Catcher only for ghosts is little... uneconomic.

Hello.

I've been playing trolls for a long time with best pros around and i have to say i miss one thing. Reviving. Accual system of ressurection is really not good and doesn't work at all, becouse if we died and we are going as spirit back to base, we can be sure that enemy stole our all items, therefore defending totem/ base have no real sense, couse you lose your items outside it anyway.

My suggestion is to change rebirth spell, up to something like "pact with gods", if you died, you get ressurected next to totem with your items. It could cost 500 mana, and have cooldown, whatever, but it would at least give some point for a base defence. For now, building mines/traps or towers costs a lot and isn't usefull at all. Even warrior with his jump can see all traps around, and towers, can be easily strucked down by molotov. Building them is much bigger cost than making good items which gives much bigger chances for winning the game.

That's why i suggest to change ressurection system, according to what i said eariler. ;)

EDIT:

I would also like to apply for 1 class per tribe, couse if one tribe take 4 warriors and craft in 1-2 days second stone axe, simple wolf boots, nets and javelins they can easily pwn anyone ;). Just by jumping on that 2-3 day rush ;).

EDIT2:

I suggest all players not playing with KingDocent, first he places noobs in your team, while playing with his friend against you and added newbie -2v3. I told and warned him that i want 2v2 with my friend, becouse other guy couldn't speak english lanugage, we had to kill him to keep smooth play. We won 3 times with him and he banned us...

A big thanks, guys! These are very good suggestions indeed.
I have began already implementing them, I think I will release a new version in a week or two. It will fix some bugs (of course!), but it will do also some valuable balance changes.

LibertinePL, troll spirit will now have a 6 slot unit inventory, which will allow him to keep items, but not use them. This way when killed, the dead player is in a good position to get back his items and maybe even his meat. He can effectively scare the enemy to win some time needed for that. On the other hand, this will allow dead trolls to help their tribe and even find the mana stone needed for building a totem (if they died in the early days of the game).
Additionally, the troll spirit will now have a normal Feed Monster ability, so he will be able to sustain himself alive by eating any flesh he finds. Even his own meats (they are enough for prolonging his lifetime by 50%). Such thing will make pro players useful to the tribe even when dead, and will give newbee players some time to get familiar to the game before reviving and dieing again :p

edddd, you're right, using Sell Soul will now cost 100 energy, which will be gained by the spirit at a rate of 1/sec. This will give some time to the enemy to gain advantage of their win and will, on the other hand, prevent the died player from stupidly selling soul (sometimes new players do it before the experienced ones even have the chance to explain them the other option).

MrGoral, this way the dream catcher and other types of "ghost protection"would be far more needed, because every tribe will need to protect their village from treacherous, object-stealing poltergeists : ))
Of course, the best protection is to keep your stuff in the buildings, but it's a matter of play style.

BILBASICK, thank you, I will check these things. I will see if I can make that for the dual weapons, sounds really good, but the weapon acquire system is the most screwed part of the game. Sometimes I do one thing and ruin another, so I got to be very careful.

No Need Changes!!!!!!!!

1: About the spirit being able to pick up items. If i suicide in the start of the game and i go take all the items from the enemy base, that would totaly ruin the game.And about the totem mana needed for resurect, it is perfect, you will see in the replays how easy it is to get mana stones for sacrafice and then you can resurect.Of course you need teamwork and skill, does not apply for noobs.No need to change mana cost for resurect to 100.Because this can be exploited as well.I can suicide again and again for endless skulls(shrunken heads), and in inventors case he can suicide for reset for his invent cd.
2: And i've played with Libertine and what i can say is that he is a mediocre player, and me and leso rushed him with 2 warriors once and he had no good allies and no game plan and no items, and now he is complaining that the game is unbalanced?!?!?!!?!?!?? All you need is teamwork.
3: about the merchent: do not change anything about the merchent, it is good enough as it is.Stones,flints,oils,herbs i can buy from the merchant , its ok.BUT MERCHANT MUST NOT sell animal products(pig skin, feathers, turtle shells,meats) Do not put theese in the merchent or it will remove the need to hunt animals.and about selling entire buildings and items?!?!? why?? You will see in the replay how easily we manage base resources, it's not needed,and new bugs might appear, just don't change merchant.
And the chainsaw is bad?!? It is not for cutting trees , it is for killing enemies. use this build:chainsaw+net+frenzy potion+armor+gloves of fury+mask(optional) and you can kill anything in melee, even warriors with frenzy and vampiric so easily.


Theese changes scare me Gadina, you need to think about how theese changes might have "side effects" aside from the desired purpose.And you shuld ask people for replays about their statements about the game needing changing.I will send more replays of real games.

i thinking - if i have cooldown to reborn i can lose my life to get a demonic mask. i don't need it.
if in a our tribe we don't have a shaman we cannot craft a dreamcatcher.
now in the version u cannot choose at two ways of development - before this changes i can choose - leave 2 lifes or sacrifice 1 life for demonic mask. but now u must always die for demonic pact because u don't need a second life without your equipment. but it is not end - u need to wait a cooldown. oh yeah and u can see that - enemies steal all stuff from your base. and if you played 2vs2 and if 1 troll is died by a hand of enemies they can kill other teammate because this died troll waiting cooldown. of course

The change is not so big and it adds possibilities, does not ruin them.

Merchant Shop WILL NOT sell leathers, items etc. Ever. It will only BUY anything you sell to it, with a few exceptions like Pact with the Devil.
You can anyway disassemble any item and then sell the resources - now you can directly sell it, if you want, for the same gold cost.

About ghost stealing - I told it a few times already in different forums: how effective can be the scouting and stealing with a spirit, which moves slowly, sees in a short range and can be repelled by the enemy totem?
He can steal - well, this is good stimulus to keep your items in the buildings. In early game you may not have buildings yet, but the enemy might also not have you discovered. Nor his spirit can live enough to explore all the map. In late game you have enough storage places and maybe a totem (with Banish) or Dream Catcher.

The mana cost for rebirth is not changed - it is all the same.
The troll spirit itself will have mana, which measures when he can revive (after 100 sec). You say his tribe would be wiped out in this time - well, then don't die. But now you have the possibility to take back your gear and fight with it when you revive by selling soul or by rebirth.
Are 100 seconds too much time for that? And, of course, these seconds are required only for selling soul - you can revive at once at the totem, if you have full mana of the totem.

The only thing related to death is that it's stupid to ressurect instantly after death, as I first said, add a casting time (small!) just to give some seconds to the killer get a distance or steal the items, the dead troll spirit needs to discuss with the Devil first...
100s seems too much.
As it is right now, it's really possible that killing your target may be a bad idea, happens to me often. I was following a warrior around, when he reached red hp, I fletched him to death, his mate warrior came to me, and if the first one didn't revive instantly I would kill the second one flawlessly, but the same warrior I killed killed me while fighting the other, and that's over. But if I ignored the red hp one, I could just kill the other (if you're red hp with malaria, you would surely flee). Well, I guess you get what I mean.

bug: siege machine throwing stone deals 100 damage as said in tooltip, throwing bomb deals 100 when should be 200 as said in tooltip (as I remember, it says 200 to units); I checked AoE but deals only 100. bomb = stone x units

edit: suggestion: a flare-like craft for inventor, to get air vision like hunter's hawk.

And I'd like to defend 1 class per tribe, because it's a tribe a tribe isn't made of 4 shamans, etc. Even if people are noobs and someone picked, let's say, warrior before you, your problem, pick something else.

Nim is right, well, such a spirit could be easily used as exploit. For example, you choose hunter, fast make pet's den and then scout for enemy with hawk. Die in their base and annoy them, by eating/stealing food, etc. That would really suck, but idea is overally good. I just would like to see another way to hurt spirit, like shaman ghost form? or just throwing items that would deal 50% dmg to him... dunno ;). Or a new shaman skill - ritual of something, that could teleport ghost in random place on map, dunno ;).

And Nim, i'm not complaining game is unbalanced, but few tweaks could do the trick ;). I'm still using warrior rush or hunter rush, and it works nearly 100% times against other medicor players.

Anyway, Nim, you improved a lot, i remeber times when we beat your ass easily ;), but now, with that teamspeak friend of yours it grants you huge advantage ;). Still, come by russian room 2 or europe room 2, couse i can't find you anymore there. And i would like to play against you with ED ;).

nah, there aren't more players there, except for cyrus and [my]love, garena is better in iccup in players and in lag; i have delay, maraes lags, you say you also lag... and it's really unfair /not right word/ in some pvp situations.

And in Garena 1 player drops every 5 min.At least i can finish my games on iccup, although with a little lag.Or have you forgotten how long we waited to find a host wich every player can see, how many times someone has to relog garena, and when finaly the game starts players start droping.Yep, garena is realy good...NOT.

I will implement some countermeasures to prevent possible exploits of the dead spirit with inventory:
- the oil will be gathered upon attack (a single attack will give you the oil, and the spirit cannot attack).
- the Dream Catcher will be replaced by a Totem of Horror, which is a skull on a stick, crafted by the Shaman or in the Voodoo Hut. It will function the same way as the former Dream Catcher, with a little addition ;)

If you have some other thought, please share it.

I wish to see one more thing, another way to hurt ghost. Couse if you are early selfkiller, there won't be no skull plus as ghost you can eat whole meat of enemy trolls after cooking or just steal all wood to inventory to prevent them from making any buildings. Just a little addon of throwing things to ghost that would deal 30-50% dmg could fix such abusment.

Also you should abbility heal (shaman) make not to affect plants, animals and rotten beasts because it makes no sence to feed/hydrate it if you have shaman.

Ok Gadina please explain again why spirites can carry items and why the need for 100 sec wait to resurrect soul.And more importantly explain what is wrong with the current resurrect.

All eddd suggested was to add a few sec time before being able to sell soul.But no, you had to come up with the crazy idea of 100 sec.As a matter of fact even waiting 2 sec is too much, why? BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CURRENT RESURRECT SYSTEM.Enemy kills you,you sell soul,take items back(fast) and you continue fighting, or run away(if you can)

And about the oil..realy Gadina?, thats the main problem?!?!?!? fast oil gathering? when it's easy as pie to get oil anyway, you think that thats the only complication these changes will bring???What about hunters hawk not being able to get oil, did you think about that???? no?Because hawk can't get oil now because you have to attack the oil geiser.And even if you put stuff into barrels, at some point you still want to drop something, at wich point a spirit hawnting you will pick it up.Or warrior cutting trees for the tribe, the ghost can just pick up the wood and fuck thing up.But ofc you didn't think about this,for you it's a good idea to give ghost inv slots.yea!
And i see that no1 on the forum says that this is a good thing.But you are still going to do these changes right? Because you don't care!

And what about fixing real problems??? like fixing the damn regeneration bonus of freezing.This regen is MORE that your normal regeneration.To the point that if i have low hp it's acualy a good thing to freeze because trolls regenerate faster when freezing.Or the warrior stance problem(aparently you never played warrior because if you did this would be so damn OBVIOUS)

And why is it that you don't seem to play games with the ppl that are posting on your forums

I don't deserve this, don't deserve that. Well, okay, thanks again.

Spirits will carry items, because this will allow killed trolls to contribute to the tribe, to bring items or just explore the jungle, feeding with whatever rotten meat he finds. This is much more important, because it will allow new players to get familiar with the game even after dying. The purpose of the 100 seconds res wait time is the same - to not allow them to sell soul before even knowing why. At the other hand, it serves the enemy who have killed you and must have the time to get the advantage of this.
All other problems are balance issues which can be solved.

Such one is the oil - I haven't said that any hit will bring you oil. Oil will be spawned by the same rate, but with other mechanics. Well, hawk will not be able to gather it. He cannot gather other resources anyway.

As for the overrated problem with possible ghost stealing - well, I think it is possible, but not so probable. Anyway, I am thinking about game mechanics which would make it hard. I think about just giving the "dream catcher" aura to the burning fire. It serves as mobile survival station, giving heat, cooking option and light. Now it could also protect from ghosts, so in early game it will be okay. In late game this protection could be extended by totems of horror.

The purpose of those changes in general is to make more sense of building a base and defending a totem, instead of nomadic wandering in the jungle and killing each other in random battles.

As for current problems - I am constantly fixing bugs which were reported. I haven't got to this one, but I have it in my list. It will be solved.

It is very intentional that the Shaman can heal rotten units and plants - that makes him better supporter and is very logical to his role of Voodoo master and Herbalist.

I don't play much, because all the time I have for trolls, is used for making the game better and fixing the bugs. I sometimes play, but rarely. The other thing eats up too much of my time.

I am working on it from YEARS. I know everything about it, although it is a huge game.

I can always accept criticism, but you start to piss me off. Please first read what I wrote on the game site or here, think a minute and then answer me. So many times you wrote offending posts, from which I see you haven't even read and understood what is the change, but you already formed a negative opinion about it.

I just cannot help such people, even though my good will to listen to the opinion of fans.

i have seen some people asking for a second inventory for trolls where you could care around more items...
well i found this system which is very good IMO...Easy Bag System
this is an item which is used as a bag and can store up to 4 items..
so you can carry multiple of those and use them to store items...
i think that this system is better than making each troll with one bag...
because now you can craft the bag and store items in it before placing it in a barrel (don't remember how the storage barrel is called in JTR :p)
so if you store in the barrel 6 bags with 4 items in each bag then that means that you can store up to 24 items in a single storage barrel instead of only 6 :)

EDIT:
that spell for some reason is not approved, i have checked the triggers and i can't really see why it has been rejected...
anyway if you don't think this system is well coded maybe you should try to remake it...
this is the only bag system that i would suggest using in JTR for the following reasons:
-easy to use
-can be obtained by crafting (maybe from rope and any soft leather)
-can store any number of items (suggested:4)
-carryable in any unit's inventory
-you could make it able that when you try pick up an item that's not one for your class to be instantly stored in the bag

i hope you like my idea of this kind of bag system because it suits JTR perfectly IMO ;p

Hi! Honestly, i think current version is very well balanced, no need to add changes. Just fix bugs ffs. For example with warrior stance, changing after crab bites, or CD on mining pick and other weapons not showing properly, or items fall on the ground after crafting (try it: 4 busy slots, 1 slot with 5 tinders and 1 free slot, craft rope - you got 1 rope, 1 tinder, 4 other busy slots, and 2 tinders on the ground)

Btw, what happened with A.Dominion?

A.Dominion has work to do and life to live. As also do I, but me and him are working on different speeds. In a few weeks he did a major overhaul of the whole game. I, however, cannot spare so much hours per day, so I am advancing slowly - like I always did. Reading all the forums, thinking over the suggestions, doing the job, testing every stupid thing.
I hope some day in the future A.Dominion will find again some time for trolls - even just for playing ;)

So, attention is played to every site - the English forum, the Russian forum, this one at the Hive. I'm reading all, thinking and doing whatever I find proper for the moment. Well I'm not Blizzard and I don't have an army of programmers to fulfill every wish, but I'm doing my best to make players happy. But consider that "players" are very wide variety. The game needs to be more noob-friendly and thus provide you with more opponents. I'm making steps into that direction.
On the other hand, the strong line of the hard survival is still kept.

Second inventory... Not so much needed. Let it be hard :)
Banana palm... Well, suits the game perfectly. One day it should be made more jungle-like - with panthers instead of wolves, banana trees etc. - but bug fixes and gameplay improvements have priority.

I have a suggestions:
1).
When you douse the fire (btw D key isnt working), you lose control over it. Same with growing animals - you lose control, they drop items (meat), all binds (ctrl+#) are lost as well. So i suggest to make mechanism like in DotA, when you upgrade courier - model changes, but you still keep control and binds of it (it was made in 6.65 or 6.66, or i dunno, but it wasn't since beginning, i remember i had to bind it again)
2).
Make a small cooldown for crafting buildings, because sometimes you got huge delay - you click to craft fire (for ex) and nothing happens, then you think you missclicked, click again and eventually you get 2 firecamps
3).
I know that im not first, but can you add inventory slots at least to troll hut, it's stationary, what's the problem?

Bugs:

I had very strange bug - my hunter felt asleep (not coma, resting) when he remained less than 20-30 mana. And not once, about 3-4 times.

When you put 2 ropes into forge and disassemble them - you gain only 2 tinders, another pair just disappear

If you reload (sniper) gun just right after you shoot last shot - you can lose black powder - that's really annoying, because in fight you must think quickly. 1 pack of ammo can be crucial

Pack tent and Change owner abilities of Hunter's tent are switched (pack on V button etc.)

Tooltip error: In workshop, craft Siege Machine - "Must remain stationary while shooting it it miss the target."

Bombarding deals only 100 dmg (all area) to trolls

Siege tower unable to do anything

Gadina, i was was too quick to judge you in my previous posts and i apologise for that.I understand that editing this map is not easy and it takes time, and you have done some realy good things with things with this map.
I understand the problem about making the game sutable for all players of any skill.So i have a suggestion.Rework the starting options a bit
When you start the game you have : EASY ,NORMAL,HARD, and "ALERNATIVE",
Now when player 1 chooses ALTERNATIVE,a new menu would appear:In this menu you can choose: The amount of hp animals have (50% 100% 150%)
The duration of bad weather (50% 100% 200%)
The duration of disease and poison(50% 100% 150%)
Action mode (you get a free merchant with gold)
Plenty mode
(the controversial "spirites can carry items" yes/no),i'm bias to this issue
Trolls take 3 dmg/sec when they are cold( to make the game extra hard)
Hunger dmg (50% 100% 200%)
And other things.

The above is just an example, you can put in a huge amount of options.The default would be set to normal.
Most players would play the game in normal mod, ofc.And making the game more cusomizable will make the game more interesting.Give players more options, the more the better. This will please EVERYONE, and no1 will complain anymore!
"oh the map is too hard" "oh the map is too easy" "oh i don't like this i don't like that"
Not a problem anymore with ALTERNATIVE/ CUSTOM MODE.
