Have you performed a forum search? Read any recent stickies? Or FRONT PAGE UPDATES? Come back after you've done that, I think you'll find something you overlooked that will explain your problem. If you still have problems after your blizzard/common.j files are replaced, come back here.

It sounds like you forgot to run it as an administrator, Vista doesn't allow standalone programs to enter in disk and open or modify files without having administration permissions.

Right click on the shortcut or executable and press Run as Administrator.

About going to the main screen, that's caused by (like FlowerofSpeech says) triggers that aren't compatible with the version 1.24 of WE.

I ran it as adminstrator but it did the same thing

EDIT: and ya, i click test on the witchers equipment system, but for some reason it doesnt do that all the time..very odd

it is, im gonna re-try in admin mode

EDIT: This is a complete failure... -_- i have my map, i click test... it goes to wc3 start up screen (like that makes any friggin sense) so i go and find my map, and it wont start

EDIT: Wonderful...now my map got an error, and it got placed in a random ass folder called Warcraft3maps.w3xtemp, and i cant open it up cuz it dissapeared

Use your wits and use the search bar like I did for 2+ hours. You probably need to update JassHelper/pJass and finally run (the editor) in Windows XP Service Pack 2 compatibility mode.

Seas =)

if you want test your map and you gets to the Wc3 start menu (I know this problem myself), this can happend if you use vJass (dont know with normal Jass).

If I add a vJass trigger in my map and trst it directly - I only come up to the wc3 menu. But if I save the map first and test it then - everything is fine.
