Hey guys! Had a general idea, and figured this was generally the best place for it.

Hyuk hyuk hyuk.

Sometimes it seems like we have problems coming up with cohesive or meaningful Themes for Contests. Ever have/see that problem? 'CUZ I HAVE. So I had an idea... Though it may have a limited utility, and I understand that.

WHAT IF:

We picked a buncha different Theme Ideas and break them into two separate categories (like "Time" & "Place" or "Flavor" & "Color" or "Race" & "Alignment", etc). Then we RANDOMLY Pick one from each Category, and that's our Contest (much like the Swarming Balls of Disorder from the linked movie).

Dunno what that's called... And again, don't know where we'd do it. But I thought it was a pertinent & interesting (& most importantly, "agreeably random") idea.

Thoughts?

It's a good idea. Where would you have it implemented?

Good question.

I suppose implementation would be up to the individual contestants & moderators; those who actually will join the Contest should have a say in how the Contest is run, I'd say.

As to which Contests... Entirely depends. I see "Hero", "Techtree" and "Zephyr" benefiting from this... But I'm sure there are plenty of others ("Gameplay" and "Mini-Mapping" comes to mind).
