Hi all.

I need some heroes for my upcoming AoS, but I rarely come up with good hero names, spells and lore.

This is my weak side, so I need your help.

If you have ideas about heroes, their backstory lore, their abilities, mechanics - post here.

You can include whatever you want.

What's your map's theme?

What do you mean by theme? Its an AoS map, with pushing towers, ganking, jungling etc.

I don't really have a backstory, I was hoping to get that later. Right now its just an AoS.

That's what I mean, I find it helps to get ideas if you have some overarching theme to the map.

Oh that. Yeah I guess that fits in the theme category.
I honestly haven't thought about it like that.
Now that I am thinking about it, I can say that the theme isn't good vs evil, chaos vs law, horde vs alliance. Its not greed either, or an arena where warriors come and die for the amusement of others. Its more like, two teams doing something

Its hard to come up with a solid theme, but I can atleast tell you what I said above.

I can say more than likely some sort of futuristic heroes will do, fitted that their "technological advance" is due to some engineering miracle that enhances them in some way or that they are from the future but are stuck in the current realm where technology doesn't overpower swords and magic.

Necromagister (Int)

An ancient wizard who prolonged his life through mastery of the dark arts.

Bonedust: Twists the bones of the fallen into unholy servants. Transforms up to three corpses into skeletal minions (Warrior, Archer, Mage) which strengthen with level.

Carpe Dead Men: Animates the bodies of the dead to entrap the Necromagister's enemies. All enemy units near a corpse are stunned for one second (the corpse is consumed by the spell), radius increasing with level.

Entropy: Saps the vital energy from the enemy. Channels a cloud of necrotic magic that Cripples all units inside, radius and duration increase with level.

(Ultimate) Unlife Ritual: Targets an allied unit. The unit's move and attacspeed are greatly accelerated, but it also loses 5% of its total health per second. All damage dealt by the unit heals the Necromagister.

Phylactery (Passive, doesn't level up): When killed, the Necromagister drops his Phylactery, which contains his soul. If picked up, it allows the user to wield low-level versions of his spells until he revives, at which point the Phylactery disappears from the inventory. The Necromagister is given half the exp earned from units killed by the phylactery's holder.




Canoneer (Str)

A dwarf inventor trying out his new cannon. Has very long range but damage decreases the further the target is from the hero.

Hey you! Catch!: Fires an explosive shell at an enemy, stunning it and dealing damage.

Grapeshot: Deals damage in a wide area, damage and radius increases with level.

Armor-Piercers: Every hit on the target removes armor (drains mana, removes up to 50 armor).

(Ultimate) Channels before firing a massive ball of shrapnel that deals damage to all units in a line.

Primitive Gunpowder (Passive, doesn't level up): The Canoneer deals less damage the further an enemy is from him.

Quite good. Interesting synergy and spell choices. I'd +rep you but I already did for something else and cannot atm. Great info on the hero though
Kind of feels like a copy of Lycan in dota, but then again whatever hero people come up with can be said to be a copy of something so that doesn't matter :D

Tactician (Int)

A mercenary leader particularly skilled in the arts of war.

Counterfeit Orders: Sends all enemy units in the spell's AoE to Move back towards their base (AoE increases with level). Those that reach their base will then Attack-Move to the Tactician's base.

Inspiring Banner: Places a banner that gives beneficial auras to allied units (more auras per level: Devotion, Command, Endurance etc). If an enemy hero kills the banner, surrounding units are slowed for a while.

Ambush: The Tactician camouflages an allied creep wave. The units are made invisible and stop moving until the Tactician breaks the spell, at which point they resume attacking (dealing extra damage on the first attack that increases with level) along their lane.

Lead from the Front (Ultimate): Gives control of one allied lane's next creep wave to the Tactician. If the Tactician is too far from the units (after he takes command), they revert to original control and attack-move to the enemy base.

Monitor Communications (Passive, doesn't level up): Every five minutes, all enemy units are visible to the Tactician across the map for a short while.

Very nice. I was looking for some model like this, a draenei tanky-fighter. But I guess paladin isn't bad either.

An interesting choice of spells too. Seems like a healer / burster / pusher with the spheres and the divine strike.

This would be an amazing hero for pushing and/or for a strategy map. However, in an AoS map like the one I'm making idk if this idea has much merit. Though some spells are very interesting, like Lead from the Front and Ambush.

It is a powerfull ice mage , also known as Ice King :
Frost Strike (a powerfull ice attack who deal damage and stunt enemy )
Hiden in Ice (an ability similar with bladesmaster windwalk )
Aura of Ice (decreese enemy units movement and attack speed )
Ultimate : Call of the King (summon a giant wendigo for 45 seconds )
Murgall
It is the lord of murlocs
Poisoned Ensare (the murloc release a poisoned ensare who deal damage over time and the enemy unit cannot move )
Rage of Terror (increese attack speed and attack damage for a short time )
Reptilian Armore (an passive ability who permanently increese murloc armore )
Ultimate : Planetar Ocean (the murloc create a massive water wave to sink his enemy )
Malias
It is a cultist paladin who use dark powers :
Death Coil
Death and Agony (unleash an energy blast who confuse enemy units )
Aura of Decay (deal damage to nearby enemy units )
Return from the Graveyard (some kind of dark reincarnation )

So what you think about my hero ideas ?

The heroes are interesting on paper, but the abilities all sound basic and there are no synergies between them. They are also not well explained.


But I don't ask that you must come up with an AMAZING idea nobody else though of. I value the fact that you took some of your time to tell me your ideas, that's why I +rep you.

Also you can name in Total War: Battle for Azeroth, and it could be something like Undead , Burning Legion and Fel Orcs vs Alliance , Horde and Night Elves, what you think ?

Mammoth Ravager

Q - Sweep
Knocks back enemies in an area, dealing 60/100/140 damage and stunning them for 1/1.25/1.5 seconds.

W - Ferocious Charge
Gives a burst of 30/35/40% movement speed that decays to 15/20/25% after a second, lasting for 2 more seconds. Additionally grants 2/3/4 armor during the duration. If Warslam is already learnt, it automatically activates after Ferocious Charge ends.

E - Warslam
Every 3 seconds, movement orders deal 40/65/90 damage to nearby enemies. (Can be avoided by M + Click)

R - Ravage
Gains 200 range and 40% attack speed for 4 seconds. Enemy heroes killed in this state triggers Warslam.

Sick model. And the abilities all sound brutish, just for a goon like that mammoth. This is a really good hero idea. Although a bit overpowered, since stun + knockback and the synerby between Warslam and other abilities. +rep!

This hero is so OP :D
In every way. Especially his Chilling Counter, that does 4-6 things for 1 ability. But its amazing how you were able to come up with such powerful abilities.

I wish I could of +rep you, because this deserves a rep but I gotta spread more love around.

Now it's a Storm Bolt + Global Teleport (+Decoy) + Chain Lightning + Summon

Indeed. In comparison, yours is weak. You should add 3-5 effects to your abilities too. How about stun + knockback + slow + impale + lifesteal to your warslam :)

What do you mean by theme? Its an AoS map, with pushing towers, ganking, jungling etc.

May I ask why you try to basically rebuild a basic AoS like DotA? I mean fun is most important and if you want then do it but I would try to invent new concepts and not make the basic DotA..

Also you can name in Total War: Battle for Azeroth, and it could be something like Undead , Burning Legion and Fel Orcs vs Alliance , Horde and Night Elves, what you think ?

Actually I already have the story line and name covered, and the map isn't in the Warcraft universe or its story line.

I am not making a DotA clone nor does my map swing in that direction. The map I am making is basically taking the best mechanics that I like from LoL, DotA, Dawngate and the new Strife + making my own story line that fits with the map.

And yeah, its hell of fun for me to make the map, I don't care if it might not be played.

But this one is less OP than the Tuskar before, good one on the inspiration. Are these from some map of yours, since you say "Rageblood is the counterpart of Kilo'geast" or this is a storyline you came up with from heroes made here?

Either way, interesting but straight forward brute fighter.

Interesting, even though your abilities are STILL basic. And this hero's Q ability has a reaaaaaaaaaaally long stun, 9 seconds at level 3. That's insanely OP.

Abyssal Ravager
(Str)

A Naga warrior who sought power in the deepest trenches of the ocean.

Wild Swing: Chance to knock back enemies in front of the Ravager and deal extra damage, chance and damage increases with level.

Pressure: Brings down the tremendous pressure of the ocean's depths against a single enemy, breaking their concentration. Cripples an enemy, interrupting them and removes mana.

Krakenspawn: Summons tentacles at random in 800 radius for a short while. Tentacles last 30 seconds, more per level.

Riptide (Ultimate): Summons a massive wave that pushes all units caught before it and deals damage (wave travels perpendicular to the Ravager's facing).

Seaborn (Passive, doesn't level up): The Ravager is amphibious and regenerates health faster in water.


Empress of the Deeps (Int)

The ruler of an undersea kingdom, who has surfaced to bring the surface world under her dominion.

Pearl of the Tempest: While active, each attack deals additional damage and has a chance to fire Chain Lightning on the attacked unit (drains mana). Chance and damage increases with level.

Serpentine Hair (Passive): Melee units attacking the Empress take damage and are poisoned.

Siren's Song: Channels, enchanting enemy units under the Empress' thrall. Control of enemy units in a large radius around the Empress is given to the Empress' ally, and are ordered to attack their base. Once out of range, control is restored.

Charybdis and Scylla (Ultimate): Channels, summoning two immobile monsters at a distance on either side of the Empress. Charybdis is an ethereal whirlpool with no attack that pulls all units towards it, taking damage. Scylla is a hydra with a multishot artillery (avoidable) attack. Both disappear when the spell ends.

Sovereign of the Seas (Passive, doesn't level up): The Empress is amphibious and regenerates mana faster in water.

Its more of a sorcery and swords type of theme. Meaning if there are gonna be futuristic heroes or aliens they must fit the story really really well. I'd put some engineered heroes, like dwarves with enhanced rifles or goblins with rocket launchers and some robot action, but nothing too extreme like an alien or a cyborg.

I'm not sure if you get what I mean.

Drou'gs begun praticing the arts of swords since he was 3, than he was forced to too study Arcane Magic, but instead of becoming a mage, he forged two masteries into one, forming him self an honorable blademaster with deadly arcane magic

Blister Bolt

Shoots a bolt of arcane magic at a point, any unit in the way of the energy is damaged fro 30/40/50 (+10) damage and the balde master will automatically arrive at the last unit hit and automatically cast Arcane Strike on it.

Bloodwrath

A particularly brutal denizen of the underworld, the Bloodwrath has burst forth from its hellish abode to reap a heavest of blood and bone.

To the Slaughter (Passive): Every 10 seconds, the Bloodwrath gets a speed boost when in range of an enemy unit, dealing area knockback on the first attack. Speed and range increase per level, knockback cooldown remains the same.

Hand of Carnage: Designates a single unit, marking it as the Bloodwrath's servant. The unit gains attackspeed and vampirism, and leaves a controllable Felguard when it dies.

Maim: The Bloodwrath turns its rage towards a single foe, inflicting horrific wounds. Targets a single non-Hero unit. Attacks five times, each attack dealing 1/6 of the target's current life.

Hatred Undying (Ultimate): The Bloodwrath binds the spirits of recently fallen warriors to battle The reanimated units are hostile to all units around them. Number of units increases per level.

Is it me or the name sounds like Drugs?

His arcane spheres is OP. Stealing mana is enough but even making the enemy's mana into an additional weapon is powerful.

Overall its a good idea, though maybe the hero should be Arcane Sword or Spell Blade? Because he is a nuker with autoattacks. +rep

I saw the hero and the model is really good. I got confused by her by thinking she's a nuker but it turns out she is a support.

Like most of her spells check for allies around her, which is both good and bad. She might be weak solo, but might be a beast in team fights.

Its a well thought out champion, kind of weird because you'd think she's a nuker or an assassin of some sort like me, but turns out she is a support.
Bloodwrath

A particularly brutal denizen of the underworld, the Bloodwrath has burst forth from its hellish abode to reap a heavest of blood and bone.

To the Slaughter (Passive): Every 10 seconds, the Bloodwrath gets a speed boost when in range of an enemy unit, dealing area knockback on the first attack. Speed and range increase per level, knockback cooldown remains the same.

Hand of Carnage: Designates a single unit, marking it as the Bloodwrath's servant. The unit gains attackspeed and vampirism, and leaves a controllable Felguard when it dies.

Maim: The Bloodwrath turns its rage towards a single foe, inflicting horrific wounds. Targets a single non-Hero unit. Attacks five times, each attack dealing 1/6 of the target's current life.

Hatred Undying (Ultimate): The Bloodwrath binds the spirits of recently fallen warriors to battle The reanimated units are hostile to all units around them. Number of units increases per level.

This is a really interesting hero. Its abilities do various things and I can see the subtle synergy between combining spells. Some are more powerful than others like her non-leveling passive which makes this hero always healing since she will be around combat. Also the Hand of Carnage could be abused if its cooldown is low because of creating too many felguards.

Either way cool hero idea. +rep

Well, the To the Slaughter ability is basically SC2's Zealot charge, 10 seconds is the cooldown it uses, and Hand of Carnage is Doom minus the constant damage, you can probably limit the amount of guards spawned.

And what of the Naga heroes?

It sounded female to me.

What about naga heroes?

Didn't really find a suiting icon, but oh well. Basically it's a warlock/mage-rogue hybrid.

Muscle Charge



Whenever Eturvus loses 100/80/60 (-20) health points, he will have +2/4/6(+2) armour and will knock back a nearby enemy unit(If there is), and gain 20/30/40(+20) speed.









Lightning Thrust



Stabs an enemy with lighting on his trident, knocking the unit baCK, dealing 50/100/150 (+50) damage, and slowing the unit's speed by 30/50/70(+20) that lasts for 3/4/5 (+1 seconds) secs









Blood's Strength


Whenever Etruvus deals more than 100/80/60 (-20) damage on an enemy unit, he will gain 20/30/40 (+10) % attack damage bonus.

Interesting idea. Though I don't get why a hero like this needs a pull spell, neither rogue/mage/warlock classes I've seen did have that.

His ultimate is really specific too. 20% of max health is kind of low amount to be using an ultimate and charge into battle, you are basically one spell away from death. Also the minor stun overlaps with the stun from the felfire inferno.

Just my thoughts. Its an interesting hero nonetheless.

Muscle Charge is passive or active? Didn't know.

Lightning Thrust is OP, it does both knockback, damage and slow and overlaps with Muscle Charge. Its too powerful to have double knockback, especially if one can be used on click and the other is passive.

Blood Strength is OP as well, can be easily abused with attack speed to provide lots of damage bonus for hypothetically an infinite amount of time.

Still, good hero concept, based on how much damage he is dealt and he deals.
