Yajuma , Silverside Inn.

You are the candidate of the Hunter Recognition Exam, and is placed here for the time being until the exam starts. The inn is quite big and comfortable, even though it looked small from the outside when you have reached the place. The inn, or a motel as they called it, is built at the dead center of Yajuma and it stretches high in the sky. There were 11 floors in this building, as you looked up in the sky, just to see the highest of the building.

For the humans, you will be staying at the 10th floor, which somewhat has an rich feeling in it. As for the rest of you, you will be living in between 1st to the 9th floor.

Announcement comes up, and told that candidates should get ready for the bus that is about to approach for the Hunter Recognition Exam. Your personal gears will be returned to you when you reached examination site.

Upon your person, are your school uniform, and a backpack that contains supplies that your school have packed for you. A man knocks on your door, asking for your registration paper for the exam, and asks whether do you any questions before the departure.

Chapter I
[1]
Peper were sitting in the edge of the bed of his room, packing the bag. His mind is thrown into the flashback of his last mission before the exam. The mission were tougher than expected, even he was only need to escort the sandflier. Now he's getting a step closer to the Hunter Expedition, he is ready. The door knocks as he finished packing, he walked towards it and opened the door. A man standing in front of the door, saying "We are going to depart soon, all hunters should embark the bus." The man added "Can I see your papers?" Peper went to his table and handed over the registration paper. The man raised his eyebrow as he saw the registration info and log. Peper took his bag and looked out the window of the 7th floor, his white hair flew with the wind. The man asked "Any question before the departure?" Seconds later Peper turned back and headed to the elevator "No." he shortly answered. He went in the elevator and luckily there is only few students in there, giving more spaces.

OOC: Was I too early to make conflict?
[2]
I looked about, blast....I was going to be late, never shoulda trusted those guide stones, pffft. This guy had landed me straight into the middle of a guild war of goblins, it DID land me a handsome amount of gold, although I had only ..... SIX MINUTES BEFORE THE BUS LEAVES!!!! I ran like a hunted wolf, I had reached the area with one minute to go. "Ahhh....yes, you must be Aaron Talwar, we were about to leave without you. Get changed in one of the compartments." He said, or rather what part of the guard said, the rest was that you couldn't bring personal belongings for the exam and such. I ran quickly to my room, bumping into a very imposing dragonian. "Sorry." I said, but it looked like the dragonian was about to hack me apart, the dragonian apparently remembered his weapons had been stashed away. Because he glanced at his clawed hands. "Stay out of my way Half-ling!" The dragonian said, and walked into his room. "Great, I really hope I don't get paired up with HIM." I said, to no-one in particular. I walked into my room to find a goblin looking at me, looking at his arms, I see he was well armed. "Errr, may I ask why I have the distinct pleasure of having a gun pointed at me?" I said, the goblin looked confused, and I took my chance. I leaped and tackled him to the ground, turns out he brought other guns too. "Ya better not mess with me pal." The goblin said, his clothing reminded me of something, but being under pressure somewhat hampers my memory.

Ahhhh...that's right! His clothing reminded me of the Arcturus Klanger guild, which was direct enemies of the guild I helped...... I realized I was thinking aloud as the goblin began to laugh evily. "Yea...that's right, I'm back for payback of what ya did to our guild, you killed a good amount of my buds. And now it's payback ya HALF-LING!" The goblin said, making sure half-ling was expressed. "You don't wanna see me when I'm angry..." I said, and threw a bolt of lightning at him. I then decided to throw him out the bus window, opening it first, then putting a sheet of ice so there would still be pleasure in it. "BUH-BYE!!!!" I shouted. Right.....now that he's gone, time for me to change.

[3]

I was lying in my bed thinking of what will happen in the next days, what could be in store for us at the hunter recognition exam when somebody knocked at my door. He was a member of the exam committee and was there to verify my papers. After verification I went out to the grounds to wait for the bus. Upon arriving at the grounds, I saw that there were already a few fellow examinees out there...

Daniel was seated in a couch that faced the window. Arms crossed and eyes closed, taking in the event that will occur, the hunter exam. It was well within his grasp, being a hunter. He always dreamt of becoming one and now his chance to be one finally came.
"This is it." He sighed as he stood up and gazed at Yajuma.
He grabbed his bag beside the couch and slung it on, walking towards the door in the process. By the time he grabbed the door knob, a knock was heard. He opened it and a man stood before him.
"May I take your registration paper" He asked kindly.
"Here."
Daniel reached for the paper inside his bag and gave it to the man. He scanned through the paper and nodded at the end.
"Do you have any questions regarding the exam?" He again asks.
"None." Replied Daniel.
The man left and so did Daniel who proceeded to the ground floor.

I was lying down at my bed, thinking whether the exam is gonna be hard, or not. I sat up, packed up my bag since it was time to go. My uniform was pitch black, with white stripes. A man knocked onto my door, so I went to open the door. The man asked" Can I see your registration paper?" I nodded and went to my bag. I pulled out the paper filled with words, and gave it to him. He looked at the paper and looked at me." Do you have any questions before you depart?" I shook my head, and went to the elevator. The elevator has only a few students, so there was more space for me to think. I reached the ground floor, it was filled with students who took the exam, or some were just staying here at this inn. I opened the door, and a gigantic bus was in front of me. I could have sworn that I have seen a bus this big, but I never cared. I went up the bus, gave the driver my student id, and found a seat vacant. I took the seat, and saw a human, who gave off an elf feeling. I did not cared, and slept with my bag as pillow.

He proceeded to the bus, where a man asks for his card. He took it out of his pocket and showed it, then step aboard the bus. He searches for the comfortable, only to find out the seat has been taken by a man, who had slept already. 'Slept already? This bus even haven't start moving' He then took the back seat, waiting for the other students.

I peered at the mysterious human next to me, he seemed to not care about me, so I simply studied him....There was something about his aura, he seemed to emit tragedy and rage, his heart was clearly scarred from a very early age. "Sorry to wake you up, but I wanted to get ta know you, what's yer name?" I asked. "Landemus, yours?" He asked. "Aaron, that's a very interesting sword Landemus. I haven't yet found the kinda weapon I prefer, but I have a buncha scrap swords and axes back home. Your soul seems troubled my, would you mind if I called you friend?" I said, to which he seemed about to cut me in half, then seemed to subside into a sorta trance, "oh! I'm really sorry, it must be a horrid memory, I'll never ask again." I sunk into the chair, I had no friends, most were lost to....horrid things, monsters..... I realized I had obviously shown a tell of my feared memories, as he started looking at me as if our souls were similar. "I'll tell you, I've had my share of horrid memories." I said, images of the guild wars and a few patrols gone bad flashing into my head.

It was around 3-o-clock am, when suddenly someone roused me from my sleep. "We've got a bit of a problem, the engine rooms are failing and the crew hasn't answered." The soldier said, "best be wearing a battle-suit my friend, we could be in for some trouble." I went and grabbed from the bedside table's cabinet a random scrap sword, tucked it into my belt, and followed the soldier to the battle-suit armory/storage room. I picked one I made especially for myself, it was violet with a blue visor and back head-plating, and had a compact secret compartment for ammo. Once it was on, I grabbed the unused (but well cared), burst rifle and headed with the other man to the engine room.

It was on floor B2, the barracks/battle-suit armory/storage room was on floor 1, floor B1 was where the Monotary defense force built rooms for what few civilian scientists had joined. It was also where I got parts every now and then, so far I'd gotten an experimental generator and a solar powered laser(it unfortunately was only capable of melting metal if left in the sun for three days), I out of habit visited the main bunk room. Only to find one scientist melting overside scalian wolves, a breed that rarely ever assaults out in the open, he then beemed with pride. "YES!!! The bio-molter works!" He shouted in triumph. "The what now?" The soldier beside me asked. "It is a laser which has the properties of acid combined with a laser." The scientist answered, this seemed to confuse the soldier more though. "Fascinating, where are your fellow researchers?" I asked. "They're attempting to contain the scalian wolves, I don't understand though, they are rarely ever aggresive." The scientist said.

Walking down to B2, we saw scientists fighting off wolves a variety of gadgetry. "Atlast! Tell me you brought more of you fellows down ere?" A scientist said. "Errr, no. We didn't think it would be this serious." I answered. "Well two defense soldiers will do. Get killing!" The scientist said, blasting enemies with tiny boxes that spewed fire and throwing tiny plugs that electrocuted whatever it landed on. Me and the soldier started unloading ammo like crazy, being careful not to shoot what few scientists there were. "Good job boys, they seemed to come from the engine rooms." The scientist said, a horrible though clearly occuring to him, as his face started to go grim. We walked in, to find a bloodbath, there were dead soldiers everywhere. A man stood there laughing insanely. "THE TIME OF TECHNOLOGY SHALL END!!!!NATURE WILL RULE ONCE AGAIN!" He said, and vanished. "No! Don't let him get away! We gotta track this guy!" I shouted, walking towards where the man once stood.

[9]

By the time that the bus came, about half of us were already waiting. The moment the door opened, we went inside the bus to find a comfortable seat. I chose to seat at the back so that I could see everyone.

It was a marvelous sight, different people from different races, with their minds set towards a single goal, to get past the hunter registration exam.

I sat there quietly, watching every person going through the door looking for someone who could be a good friend.

A draconian with a helmet then came by and sat on one of the back seats, its the first time I've seen him but I felt a strong aura surrounding him.

Chapter II

[10]

The half-ling beside me was young, very much young, I assumed he was fourteen, so I didn't cared. But what bothered me was that, if he was so young, why is he taking the exam when it is like the replica of hell, his so called " horrid dreams " must be what is been fueling him. Not long after he started his story, the bus driver announced "We are now heading for the exam site, please remain seated until we have reached our destination." And it stopped. I took out the picture frame I had secretly brought with me, and stared at it. Oh how I wished they were here, my families... I had lived in tow families, and both of them are... killed... I swear, by my name, I will find the ones responsible for this, and make them suffer, like how they suffered my families and my life. I putted it back into my bag, and started to sleep again, just to kill time 'till we the exam site.

Seeing that the bus already left without me, I'll just assume I'm inside.

IC:
Daniel sat at the second to the last seat close to the window. He gazed outside as the bus moved on thinking about his family, his friends, and those close to him. It made him sad just thinking about them.
"They aren't here now Daniel. They won't be helping you in this exam. You have to face this by yourself." He though to himself.
He folded his arms, closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.

Chapter III:
[15]
I walked over to this mysterious Peper, and he looked at me like I'd just insulted him. "Nice helmet, mind telling me why ya hate humans? Even half-breeds like myself?" I asked. "No, now get outta my sight, boy." Peper said, for some reason boy insulted me more then half-ling. "I think not, half dragon!" I said, knowing fully I didn't have the upper hand. "You've got guts, I'll give ya that, but ya better not push yer luck. What's a fourteen year-old doing in a exam like this anyways?" The dragonian said, almost sounding like he approved of me, but just a little. "Errr..I guess to become stronger." I said in answer. The next thing I know, he's talking to me about dragonian history, then sends me off as if I were an apprentice. "Well that was odd." I said to Landemus, who was asleep with his weapons next to him. I wonder if my magic will be enough.

As the halfling went near the other dragonian, I sensed some not so good intent and I was readying myself to intervene if needed but luckily, it turn out to be fine.

Ah, finally arrived at the exam center. I'm getting more and more nervous as we go near the examination period, but excited as well. I hope to make some good friends here and pass with all of them.

I was still asleep when I was disturbed by Aaron." Hey, wake up, we're here." Aaron said, I opened my blurry eyes, and look out at the window. Tents settled everywhere, and many candidates were there lining up for their registration, and some where relaxing at an nearby stand. I stood up, pick up my backpack, and walked to the entrance." Please state your name, sir." The guy in front me said." Landemus... Landemus Alseif." I told him, and he marked a tick on his paper." Alright, you can go now, and try stay alive during the exam." He gave me a smile. I know this is a very hard exam, where hundreds of thousands of hunters come and less than one quarter hunters survived and pass the exam. I walked over to the crowds and make my way one of the registration stand.

And so, the students finished their registration in the stands. They are ordered to wait until the first examination. Peper went into a corner and sat down there, waiting. The other students were cheering and looked happy. Heh, they don't know what kind of nightmare is this exam. Soon, a man came into the crowd and said "It's time. The first part is going to start." Peper lift his bag and walked. This exam composed into number of parts?

The students finished their registration and now going to the examination room. Helvorne lift his bag and Perseverantia, his mighty hammer and joined the other students. As they walk in the corridor the lights suddenly died. "Whats happening?" Asked by another student. "Your exam will start now." announced by the senior hunter.

Seconds later, the wall suddenly move, and if they won't react quickly they'll become a sandwich there. Even though its dark, Helvorne can sense that the other students are running towards the door at the end of the corridor. As his eyes are getting used on the dark, he hear someone screaming. And as his eyes completely adapt on the dark, he saw a guy got pierced by a huge spike. "Sh*t" a student say, "are they trying to kill us?". "Yes" replied by another student, "and you need to do is to survive".

Helvorne remembered that the wall will pin them if they don't move, but he can't help anyone here, he need to survive. Helvorne run, after getting a few steps a spike suddenly appeared on his left, Helvorne easily dodges it. Then take a another push to run. Everywhere, other students are dying, and even though he want to help them, he need to save himself first.

Few more steps and Helvorne will get to the door, but as he reached to the end. He slip on a blood. "Sh*t" he said to himself, few more seconds and they'll be pinned by the wall. Helvorne remember his father and how great he is, and if he didn't pass even the first exam his father's reputation will be stained.

Helvorne stand and make a last run few more step and he'll reach the door. At that time the wall is getting nearer and nearer. Helvorne made a last jump to the door hoping that even he is shor thathis jump is good enough to make the door.

Screams can be hear as the bones of the unfortunate crashes as the wall pin them. On the other side, Helvorne's jump is long enough to escape a death. "F*ck" is the only word that Helvorne can say that time.

Daniel was startled by the sudden change of atmosphere. He felt fear in the hearts of the students. The walls have suddenly started to move towards each other. Screams filled the air as the students wasted no time to get to the door at the other end. Many fell and died because of the panic that was erupting. Daniel had to act fast if he was to survive. He brought out his wings and flew towards the end of the corridor. Luckily he got out without a scratch but blood of the fallen were splattered all over him. It wasn't a calming sight but he survived nonetheless.

[29]

As the walls suddenly started moving I thought I could maybe help the others by creating an ice path, so I brought out my dragonic form and flew through the door while setting a short ice path halfway from the door so that those that are not so fast can use the ice as a boost... only a few seem to have benefited from it though, but I think that's better than none...

When Helvorne stood up he felt a pain on his ankle "This is bad, I broke my ankle." Helvorne look around to find a place to rest, on the far end of the room he find a empty chair. Helvorne sit and grab a bandage on his bag. "So... how do I do this?" Helvorne waited for someone who can help him.

Minute later, a man who look like a Hunter appeared. "Ladies and Gentlemen welcome to the Hunter's Examination, here we will test everyone of you to find who are the deserving to become a hunter. You can rest here for a while, and wait for the next instructions."

After the examiner left, I took a glance at those who survived the wall. Some of them had a few injuries, others were unscathed while some are covered in blood (some theirs, some of others)

Then I saw Helvorne with a bandage on his hand, I though maybe he had a broken bone, I went near him and gave him a piece of ice to avoid inflamation...

After the examiner left, I notice that Sapphirius is walking towards me with a ice on his hand, he lend me the ice and said to use it to avoid inflamation. "Thanks bro." I said to Sapphirius, "No problem" he replied.

We're having a conversation when suddenly the group of two Dragorians and a Human that I saw earlier pass in front of us. They look unscathed and not a single sweat can be seen.

Despite being the last student on there, Peper somehow survived the first 'breakfast'. Some students were getting sandwiched though. So the examination is kinda like this? He thought while rejoining the other group of the students. He looked at those who survived, the guy named Shappirius he saw back then in the bus, Aaron, the sleeping guy, the other dragonian and many more.

The walls moved, and thorns started to come out. I rushed to the entrance, with Aaron beside me. I reached the big entrance, and yelled" Quick, everyone, go for the door!" I told them, and some of them were running towards me, or at the entrance. Approximately, hundreds of candidates have reach through the entrance, and some unlucky ones, well, dead. The death screams of the students were terrifying, as if hell let loose evil spirits that hungers for souls. I walked over a chair and relaxed myself there, trying to sleep. Again. But I could still sense that most of the people are probably crying for their dead friends, some even tried to give up just because this is only the starting of all nightmares. Aaron walked next to me, and sat down." Not a very good day to start, eh?" Aaron looked at me, his depressed face reminds me of when I was his age. I was still probably a young kid who doesn't even know why his life have become so bad yet so good at the same time." This is only the starting, let's not let our guards down. Here, a drink." I passed him my water bottle, as I noticed his backpack was broke when he was escaping." Thanks." He said, and I went back to my peaceful when another voice woke me up. He told us that we could stay here until the next phase, and tell us to enjoy? What kind of shit is that? Hundreds of peoples died in there, and you say we can enjoy? Yeah, enjoy our nightmares that is. I quickly drift back into my sleep, and left nothing on my head.

Its been hours when the examiner left, Helvorne's ankle feel a little bit better now, but he still doubt that he can run, or even to walk properly. "I'm so lucky today, I wonder when the examiner will come back." Few minutes later the examiner go inside the room with a box on his hand. "Ladies and Gentlemen would you mind to fall in-line? We will organize your exaxm, simply fall in-line and draw your number here on the box.". "Sounds good to me" Helvorne said to himself. "I might get sometime to heal my ankle." Few more minutes and its Helvorne turn to draw. "Lets try my luck here." Helvorne draw on the box, after that he look on the paper to know his number. "...., I'm so lucky to day...". "What did you get?" Sapphirius ask. "2".

I woke up, and fell into line along with Aaron, after he got his number, I putted my hand into the box. Its hard, and many things are inside, I scoop along with whatever it is in my hand, and took it out. I closed it, and walked back to my chair. I opened the card, and a 8 was on the card. I put in my pocket, and stood up. I walked around the place, and many were either injured or had a minor wound. I walked to the dwarf, who seemed to have broke his ankle. I kneel down, and pulled out my medical kit. Inside were not the usual medical kits that people use, but instead, it stored a gun. I took it out, and shot it at his broken ankle." What the hell are you doing!?" the dwarf yelled, and soon his twisted ankle, started to grow back into normal shape, but the dwarf screamed at the top of his lungs. When the twisting stopped, his shouting stopped too." Are ya trying to kill me!?" Then he stood up, arming his hammer and aiming it at me."Hmph....." I walked away, and the dwarf realized his could walk again.

It was not long until the examiner came back up, and pulled out a table with armor pads." Are you all ready for the second phase?" He asked, and continued on." The second phase, is where teamwork is tested. Each of you will be placed in a group, and must work together in the dungeon you're about to venture in. Now I will announce the numbers that you have picked, into groups." As he said the numbers, the other candidates started to form groups according to the numbers announced, and then the announcing of my group has been told." Numbers 1, 2, 5, 7, 8 and 9 will be the next group." I looked at Aaron, and then to the others who were watching us. I walked to them, a draconian and the dwarf and asked," You guys with us?" And then a another two draconians and a human came to us," Are you guys with us too?" The human first asked. I looked at him, and said," Lets see by handing out our cards." They all agreed, and handed out all our cards," forming a circle. The numbers that was announced, were exactly the same. 1, 2, 5, 7, 8 and 9, those were the numbers that our group is, and all the others seem to be quite relieved. "Name's Landemus, and Aaron." I said, introducing myself.

As soon as we all got to know each other, the examiner stood in the middle of the crowd." Now, your gears is stored over there." He pointed at the door next to the entrance of an dungeon or some sort, and people started going in there, in lines according to their group." Okay guys, lets go get our gears and passed this phase!" I told them, they seem to have nodded and followed me into the line.

It was minutes after it was our turn, everyone seem to be getting along well, as none of us were bored actually. We went inside, and suddenly got the smell of gun powders and steel. Weapons were placed in rows everywhere, and here and there are parts used to make up a gun. There where many doors along the long bright hallway, and numbers were on top." What are those numbers for?" Aaron asked, I examined it, and noticed some people were walking into in groups." What was our group number, or, some name we could come up with later?" I asked them, and they started to think, but it was quite difficult to remember our group's number since it was dwarven language. Helvorne raised his head, remembering something. "Its yau utca , which means the number 10." He said, and right behind me was the same exact number that stared at my face.

I opened the door, but it wouldn't budge. The pad beside the door was glowing red, like an error or something. Please insert group member card. It said, and then I had an idea." Guys, give me all your number cards, I have an idea." They all started to give me their cards, and once all is here, I slotted all our cards, one by one, in numbers ascending order, 1, 2, 5, 7, 8 and 9, and the pad glowed green, and the door opened, with some gas releasing some hissing sound. Hiss, the sound made as the the door opened, and we walked inside, while the door closed closed behind us.

It was pitch black, with blurry figures of weapons here and there, then the lights went on. Weapons was line up everywhere, and there it is! Heaven's Blade, and my white armor! I wore my armor, with my uniform inside of the armor, and geared Heave's Blade. Its sharp yet blunt tip was easy to recognize as since a katana has a blunt surface, by mine has a sharp corner, making piercing possible. My armor was not as heavy as an navy soldier's, but it is as strong as a two layer metal. I withdrew Heaven's Blade, and started to do some sword technique, "Ah, its so good to be holding you again, my friend." I talked to my katana, as if it was alive.

Peper walks into the room and found gears of his. He noticed the thing laying in the corner; his double-edged great axe. He tried to lift it, to no avail. Sighs once, then he tries to lift again. It was rough 400 pounds of metal mixture, but this is even heavier, he thinks. Then he checked it more and found out "I didn't know they installed a gun in my axe." Right, the lower grip has been replaced by barrel. The 75cm-diameter blade now has an grip beside it. He went to the rack of his armors, black-clad. Looked bulky, but protective. After it attached another part to his helmet, making it two-pieces helmet. He is ready.
