yea it's just facebook basically, but they're really trying to push it as an email-like service.

Facebook, what? You're the second person who has called it a social networking tool and I still don't get the connection.

I was actually referring to IRC and Usenet.

I'd describe it more as a wiki/email/IM combo.

Yes, I have used it. The pings resemble IRC, plus the fact that you can use it for chat in many other ways as well.

Wave is wonderful, and imo, it has the potential to be the best collaboration software.

I have talked to a few people that have messed with corporate level stuff, and they agree that it has MAJOR potential to out-due them all.
