well not directly i mean there is no why to get the animation string or ID but if you want it for a specific unit type you can register all the animation IDs and assign a String for each spells and how to get that animations its simple when the unit casts an spell , when a unit issued to attack or move , i know its not efficient but sometimes you should get creative to make things work

You can try to guess, but the current animation of a unit as well as what stage it is at are stored locally. Units that are not near the player camera might not even play certain animations. The typical case of tree falling in forest with no one around to hear it making no sound to save computational resources.
