Inside this game a plot slowly unfolds around certain gems that carry a great power. A power that has to be kept safe, in your hands.



Introduction

Gems of Unification (GoU) is Role Playing Game (RPG) which can (and should) be played in multiplayer. I've worked quite a lot on this map and hope you'll enjoy it.

This map is currently still in heavy development, but playable. Of the three acts the first two are largely done. Expect this map to be updated a lot over the coming months.

If you find any bugs or have suggestions to the map don't hesitate to contact me by posting in this thread. Together we can create a new epic map!

One hero, all classes!

Pick up your weapon of choice, learn your own spells and do the quests you like. Your choices determine your class, allowing a whole new kind of customization! So will picking up a bow for instance make your hero a ranged damage dealer since bows provide a ranged attack and a damage bonus. Together with the ability to pick up any spell you like (though there is a maximum of spells you can pick) you can create your own class! Any combination is possible!​

FAQ

What is this game about? What does RPG mean?
RPG stands for Role Playing Game, which in this context means you play a character that explores the world of Gems of Unification. You're pretty free to choose which kind of character you want to be.

In which aspects does this game differ from other RPG's, like Gaia's Retaliation?
I'll be honest, in a lot of aspects it is the same, it's just fresh, new content. In what aspects it differs are these; class customization, you don't pick a pre-made class with certain abilities but you're free to choose how you want your character to be.

The game crashes!
Make sure you have texture quality on highest, else the game can crash. Next to that, suggested resolution screen is 1920x1080. Small resolution and graphic can broke game or improperly display data. If the game still crashes after trying this try running Warcraft III in openGL by adding -opengl to your startup exe.

Help, I can't save in singleplayer! Why is this?!
In order to prevent people from cheating their character up I've disabled saving in singleplayer.

My save code doesn't work.
Make sure you're using the same playername you used while you saved your character.

Restore my code!!
I won't sorry, you'll have to level up again.

I've noticed a serious bug, where can I report this?

  • The long awaited Act III has been released! It contains a new leveling area for level 38 - 48. This brand new act contains the following:

  • All save/load bugs are fixed, saving should now always generate a code, as well as loading should now always load your character fully
  • Because of save/load bugs, all save codes have been reset unfortunately
  • Mana per intelligence has been lowered from 15 to 10 per point
  • Base hero mana increased from 0 to 15
  • New Birthsign added, Birthsign: Panda provides +30% healing done

    I still need to do a lot of balancing, to be honest I haven't had a lot of time yet to look into that. About the second thing; this is true and will probably not change. Keeps higher level players in lower level zones to help out newbs ;)

    @yuvixadun, the creeps really need to get powered up. We had a party, 5 of us, and we killed the bandit lord and the wolf boss easily. Plus, the creeps are too easy, it's like, all of us just need to attack, then they get killed. Perhaps, giving them some skills, either passive or active, then giving a stronger active skills for bosses like an aoe stun, magic immunity or w/e.

    You're right, as said earlier I haven't had time for balancing, will do in next update. One thing that I want to implement is that creeps grow stronger for each player more than 2 players in game.

    Garena. But I play on BNet too, but not on official servers. Because my wc3 isn't payed. :ogre_hurrhurr:

    But I play on Euro BNet since it's free to play at, when I'm playing with other guys. But most of the time I'm at Garena.

    I just spent like 30 minutes getting to level 3, in singleplayer. I just now bought my second spell, which also cost 75 gold. The spell is called "Inner Courage", which generates threat by increasing damage 50%.

    After trying it out, I find that my damage is exactly the same as before. Whats up with that?

    Inner Courage increases the threat generation by dealing damage, not the damage itself. But then again, the tooltip has some grammar errors itself cuz it makes you think that it increases your damage by 50%. Maybe it should say "Increases the threat generated by 50% when dealing damage".

    I see, thanks :).

    By the way, I have managed to kill the big wolf in single player, but I cant seem to kill the Ring Leader.

    Has anyone else managed to kill the ring leader in single player? If so, how did you do it?

    Also I cannot find any village to the South that has Gwnedolyn....

    *Edit : And for pete's sake, add some mana regeneration items! Who wants to stand there all day sleeping waiting for mana to regen :(

    Another *edit: I reached the furbologs part. But how the heck can anyone kill them, when they can regenerate their health like that? It's impossible.

    Well first off, Gwendolyn is in the Night Elf village, just enter the bandit hideout and go straight down, then after exciting follow the sort of sand bridge to the night elf town, Gwendolyn is the green colored elf.

    I've managed to solo everything until Gareth the Greedy. Taskmaster was a good challenge in a single player game but its easy with the right Birthsign and pet.

    You can get pets at the hunter's hall building near Gwendolyn and the birthsign quest is after you talk to Gwendolyn claiming the 1st quest.

    Atm im farming furbolgs easy due to pet, skill combo, high str and hp due to birthsign and always FF the shaman first.

    Also get pots, like alot of it, took me 2 of those 300HP pots to kill Taskmaster.

    I found a minor bug. When using two-handed weapon and cast healing spell (probably other spells too, but I'm not sure), the attack animation becomes that of a Human Peasant unit (clobbing his left hand). Using one handed-handed weapons are no problem, but I haven't try bows and dual wielding stances yet.

    As a side note, I would recommend you to make a trigger that can alter one hero's primary attribute. It's kind of pointless to raise agi stat, if you're primary and skill attacks are based on str anyway. But I might be wrong, will replay as a Rogue or Hunter type character.

    And the lack of equipment vendors really disappoint me. I was hoping for a large two-handed hammer to my weapon. I made a character based on Warcraft 3 Paladin Hero, you see. Perhaps adding more weapons to the game would make it better. OR is that your intention all along, to make better weapons and equipments to be dropped from monsters all along? In that case, oh well.

    All in all, I think this is a promising Rpg, with customizable Hero like I've never seen before. Will check on potential updates every now and then. Thanks for your work, and I apologize for any mistakes, and possible typos. Cheers!

    There is a greate reason to incrase agi - dodge and crit. I have 50% x2 crit at the moment and 30+ dodge. And dmg is nice just because of top weaporns.

    Which skills did you get? So far I have got Knucle Punch, Frenzied Strike, Shadow Embrace, and Savage Energy (restores 2 mana per attack).

    When you say get pets, do you mean choose the summon pet as a spell?
    If I have chosen crappy spells, is there any way to exchange back my spells for a spell point, so I can choose better spells?

    Wow, thats crazy man. Do you recommend re-doing all of my stats, change them all from Strength to agility??

    And where do u get top weapons? I am still trying to find weapons that I can to "improve item" at the night elf base, but it says I have no item that can be improved :( Any idea where to get the items that can be improved??

    Almost every good item near dungeon 2. Something like sword of a dragon - got it from turtle boss is fine. Troll boss (he is bugged - 1 time he allies you and he is allied forever but u still can attack him and get items) gave nice off-hand. Harpy gave a crossbow and there were arrows in skeleton archer boss in D2. I don't recomend u making full agi - I have 10 str for some (with 40 dmg weaporn not too much, but ok) damage and 350 health. Our party tank has more then 1k health but in PvP he has no chance because of my ensnare)

    It only increases your threat, not your damage. Will improve the tooltip next version, sorry about it :)

    You can get mana regen from staves or from the ability Savage Energy, good luck getting them :)

    About the hp regen of Furbolgs; that's their shaman's rejuvenation, you should try to kill them first.

    Will look into the animation bug.
    There are quite a few hammers out there, most items just drop of creeps (there are over 100 items so farm them! For a hammer I can recommend farming Gnoll Savages).

    In addition; I think agility is a viable stat, it gives dodge, attack speed and crit chance. You only dislike it because it doesnt just give flat +damage but I think at some point a little +% attack or +% crit gives you a lot more dps than just another +1 damage.

    The troll boss is suppose to "surrender", I haven't been able to finish a quest there. He will give you a quest once you get him on a low % hp. It's just not implemented yet ;)

    Nope, it's in Act II, you'll get there when you've crossed to bridge to the east which lies south of the NE village.
