Inside this game a plot slowly unfolds around certain gems that carry a great power. A power that has to be kept safe, in your hands.



Introduction

Gems of Unification (GoU) is Role Playing Game (RPG) which can (and should) be played in multiplayer. I've worked quite a lot on this map and hope you'll enjoy it.

This map is currently still in heavy development, but playable. Of the three acts the first two are largely done. Expect this map to be updated a lot over the coming months.

If you find any bugs or have suggestions to the map don't hesitate to contact me by posting in this thread. Together we can create a new epic map!

One hero, all classes!

Pick up your weapon of choice, learn your own spells and do the quests you like. Your choices determine your class, allowing a whole new kind of customization! So will picking up a bow for instance make your hero a ranged damage dealer since bows provide a ranged attack and a damage bonus. Together with the ability to pick up any spell you like (though there is a maximum of spells you can pick) you can create your own class! Any combination is possible!​

FAQ

What is this game about? What does RPG mean?
RPG stands for Role Playing Game, which in this context means you play a character that explores the world of Gems of Unification. You're pretty free to choose which kind of character you want to be.

In which aspects does this game differ from other RPG's, like Gaia's Retaliation?
I'll be honest, in a lot of aspects it is the same, it's just fresh, new content. In what aspects it differs are these; class customization, you don't pick a pre-made class with certain abilities but you're free to choose how you want your character to be.

The game crashes!
Make sure you have texture quality on highest, else the game can crash. Next to that, suggested resolution screen is 1920x1080. Small resolution and graphic can broke game or improperly display data. If the game still crashes after trying this try running Warcraft III in openGL by adding -opengl to your startup exe.

Help, I can't save in singleplayer! Why is this?!
In order to prevent people from cheating their character up I've disabled saving in singleplayer.

My save code doesn't work.
Make sure you're using the same playername you used while you saved your character.

Restore my code!!
I won't sorry, you'll have to level up again.

I've noticed a serious bug, where can I report this?

  • All save/load bugs are fixed, saving should now always generate a code, as well as loading should now always load your character fully

  • Mana per intelligence has been lowered from 15 to 10 per point

  • New Birthsign added, Birthsign: Panda provides +30% healing done

I'm really glad you like them, if you find it adequate I can help you with ideas for everything I've posted here, I just gave you a general thought but I've thought long and hard on many things, some are easy to do. I have not seen you on the forum normal RPG like a Arcanum, Skyrim or Gothic. All RPGs are made ​​from the same script. The same model, same gameplay. Do you have a fantasy?But compared to other RPGs of this forum, this map is better.Gold is, but nowhere to spend.

I played with a friend and we did all the quests but we cant pass at the bridge were are 2 soldiers that blocks the road ?
How can we find the last gem or you havent completed the main story line yet ??

The main q is can we finish the map or not ?

Haven't added the last Act yet, so that's suppose to happen. The bridge will be blocked until it's released. Haven't had time the last few weeks to develop unfortunately so releasing Act III has been slowed a bit.

With some luck I'll get a balance/fix update out tomorrow and can then fully focus on Act III (on which I've begun, so some progress might be visible already in the next update ;) )

Pretty fun map!

A couple of things I found:
It's almost impossible to play at a nice pace (without cheats) in single player, since the boss mobs own you.

If you kill the "Greedy" horse guy before the Taskmaster guy in the bandit mines (in my case I missed the Taskmaster mob and just encountered the Greedy guy first) you cannot continue since the requirement to kill the Greedy guy only pops up after you've killed the Taskmaster

Other than that, stunning terrain and a nice concept, I will be playing this some more!

Some guy said some time ago that he was easy soloing d2 with pala guy (mage in mail) on 30(?) lvl cuz he was sleeping in battle.

yeah i have said i can make d2 in 6player settings with lvl 30 really easy, so easy i "could" sleep and not that my hero was asleep in fight


BTW shadow dagger is still bugged, if u kill the creep with it, it dont cost mana and has no cd
And the Blacksmith in the first town has the spell "Vampiric Swarm" and u can kill yourself and allies with it
And "Mark of the Wild2 is bugged, it lasts forever, even after death

Also have u fixed crit when off-hand from troll is in inventory and u try to upgrade an item?

What is exactly the bug here? The offhand gives crit damage, not crit chance.

BTW shadow dagger is still bugged, if u kill the creep with it, it dont cost mana and has no cd

Aura of Peace is bugged too, she gives the own hero a dmg buff, it saids it only gives enemies -10% dmg.

-.- it ruins WC3 - WC3 crashs. Critical error.

Are you guys using save codes from a previous version?
I've just tested both things and the bugs don't occur. Maybe the item/ability is bugged due to a save/load issue.

Gaias Retaliation without the Job promotions and a bit of seasoning and spices. All in all, not a great game, its your average RPG and its fairly easy. The most challenging part is probably D1 and we did it with 2 people, once we got to level 18, the rest of the game was a breeze. And the exploits are all over the place, the gamble system is silly, I swear to god there is like a total of 25 items in the entire game? Wtf is that?

About difficulty - yes, I agree - it is too easy.
And it is not just average, average are tons of popular but shitty maps like twilght eve and maps like that.

There are more then 100 unique equipable items in this game. Just don't farm the same creep for 15 minutes because most creeps only drop 4 different items ;)

I'm sorry this isn't the game you're looking for. I never intented to make some uber game like Gaia's, it's only me developing and creating such games takes more people.

If you could elaborate on the exploits some more I could maybe fix them for next update.

How do you get skillpoints?

I got one and learned fireball. But i did lots of quests and reached the elven vilag, but didnt get any more...
And when i unlearn Knuckles/Fireball the spell is gone but i dont get any skillpoins.
Its just weird, lvl 12 and only 2 spells!?


€: OK nvm, only bossquests give SP (which i didnt manage to kill in solo game)

You used a bow by any chance? Try reequiping it and your lost spell should pop up again. Working on a fix for that issue, only happens once.

If you do some quests involving bosses you should get skill points. There are quite a few spells to pick from in the first two villages.

Casting progress bars disappear sometimes...
By the way if you will watch a replay you will get savefiles of all (maybe 1, I don't remember) players, cuz local player works in replays not exactly as you want)
Warcraft was frozen and crashed again when I tried to that bone misc.
Improved troll off-hand can't be saved.

Tried latest version? Most bosses got a new unique ability (some like that).
Will keep it in mind for new bosses though.

Harder I can do, bigger probably won't happen. You'll just have to wait till D3 ;)

3) Make healer and mage separated. Maybe healer with some kind of mace or smth?

True, this causes some imbalance, but it isn't easy to seperate the two. Healer/Mage combo would have low hp though.

4) Nerf mana and hp bonus from stats, they are too big, mage can't waste mp, str guys have 5 times more hp then everyone.

Might have to nerf mana regen to give mana a purpose. HP is fine I think.

after loading u get creep buff

Already got that one fixed in the new version.
